Re: tanning with red hair?
I'm a redhead with a fake, dark tan and I think I look great. I don't like how I look under club lights without my spray tan, and I always show up to work with my fake tan on. Go for it, you'll stand out because redheads are rare enough and tan redheads are even rarer.
Re: tanning with red hair?
I honestly love red hair with a tan, unless you mean ginger that looks better with fair skin but I think red hair looks alot better with a nice tan usually.
Re: tanning with red hair?
It really depends on the shade of red. Too dark on the tan and it looks like a BBQ potato chip.
I'm a bright copper redhead and I do versa medium. But I'm glow in the dark naturally. I still get comments on how fair I am, even when I'm suuuuuuuuuper dark (for me). Just go with whatever makes you feel comfortable. That's when you're going to make the most $$.
Re: tanning with red hair?
Egggh I have honestly never seen a redhead that looked good tan, except for the rare Indian woman who has dyed her hair a burgundy-ish color.
It's just too much reddish/orange/gold, and it tends to make the girl look like walking radiation.
I just think a more natural skin tone is more flattering, and not so fake/tomato-esque.

I get what you mean but if she means litterally red rather than ginger which is more an orange then a tan can look good I know alot of people with reddy brown hair and a tan and it really does suit and I know this stunning girl who works at mac who has bright red hair (not a natural colour red) and she has quite a dark tan and she suits it so much.
Re: tanning with red hair?
^I've heard people say that...but then I see the girl...and nope, she looks like a tomato haha.
I'm open to seeing pics to change my mind! Just in my experience, I've never seen a redhead with a tan who actually looked halfway decent, let alone good.

This is lighter tan with more gingery hair but I dont like the hair colour really and lindsay isnt a good example as her tan is always disastrous and patchy

It was a bright, fake orange-red that has faded/washed-out to a more subtle strawberry-blond. When I get my roots done in a couple of weeks I plan to do the same colors again, or maybe a little darker, with more red than orange.

If it is orangey I dont think you should go with the tan
Re: tanning with red hair?
I agree with the other posters that it depends on the tone of red whether or not you'll look good with a tan.
My red is very natural-looking; it's a coppery medium brown with strawberry blonde highlights. If you're bright red or orange, a dark tan would probably look really "off".
If it's subtle, then you can definitely rock the tan!
Re: tanning with red hair?
I'm a natural(auborn to strawberry, not carrot) and I have olive skin. I look great tan, it depends on the color turned when tan, I turn light coffee. The people who turn into pennys, no good. A family membor has bright red, and she turns a dark peach color and looks adorable when tan. Tan is cute, just very the blush used. I use a purple or brown, and sometimes grey; not pink when tan. Go for dark eyes, brown lips, and use a pailer shade of powder on forehead.
Fix with makeup what doesn't work in complexion and it should work.
