Just curious I have an ok voice, I sound very white though. I wanted to know if other DJs you girls have heard have to use that voice or do the do variations? I know its all about being clear, slow and to the point.

Which stripclub voice are you referring to?
The nasal whining cheesy voice, the fake slick, trying-to-be-smooth but sounding cheesy voice, or the droning on endlessly no one can figure out what the fuck he said cheesy voice?
I have always gone for the clear and to the point voice, and where most DJs seem to be petrified of any bass in their voice and even turn it down while jacking up the treble, I like it and turn the fucking treble down. The dancers tend to like me for a number of reasons, but right up there on the list is they know when they are coming up.
But be warned, some owners and managers love the various fake/cheesy sounds you were probably referring to--that's why so many of those guys are still out there. One hint is what the head DJ sounds like. If he's cheezy, they might like it that way. Usually the key factor in any audition is to be upbeat, which can be tough if it's your first time and you are nervous. Just try to relax and breathe slowly, that helps. Standing is better than sitting, it changes your voice a bit to the chilling out side.
I chuckle every time I hear one of the DJs on. This DJ in particular uses this thing that changes his voice completely, then he'll say some weird shit. Sounds a bit creepy. Ha.
^^I want one of those!
I can change my voice a lot but forget to do it unless I am in a really good mood sometimes. I need a device such as this.
I like saying off the wall shit that no one else ever does.
Like if I fuck up I'll say "What the hell? Is the DJ is on drugs? No, but maybe he should be!"
The reason no one ever listens to the fucking DJs in these clubs, including myself when I am out, is that the guys tend to all sound alike--or rather fall into one of 3-4 generic, cheesy, insincere patterns. Break the pattern, you get people to actually listen to you for a change--some of them anyway.
As I told the owner way back, if I get one customer out of ten to try a Champagne Room, I am going to fill the CR right up and keep it full all night. That is a good thing.
But most clubs won't let you get away with that shit, especially the bigger ones. that's why I love the club I am in now, it's fairly big, very busy, and yet I can say whatever the hell I want.
People always ask me "Why do all the DJs in strip clubs sound the same?" I don't get it.
Is it because I know them and can tell the difference? I guess so.. They don't sound the same to me at all.
most dj's that i encountered use the cheesy slick etc. voice- i can actually do a prettty good imitation of it, lol
