If I'm doing a themed set I will. What I use just depends on the theme. I use books, fruit, coins, pies and other stuff.
Not really, unless you count chop sticks in my hair. I've only seen dancers do that on Halloween and theme nights.
I did often. I was known for dressing up as Rainbow Brite at my club so I used my wand all the time. If there was a way for my hair to be up and easily taken down while hangin from the pole...it was used. Any and everything I could think of that worked for me...I used it. ^_^
Not in a strip club. For my burlesque shows yes, but in a strip club I just shake my ass. Not smile and shake my ass, just shake my ass. I wanted to fan dance when I worked at the hustler club, but never got around to it. That club used to be really cool.
Yes, I have a "mafia" costume that I wear sometimes. when I'm on stage I have a toy tommygun that has cool sound effects. I "shoot" guys who don't tip.....this usually gets guys to come up and get dances. Besides, what guy can resist a nearly naked blonde with a gun? ;-)
^^ Haha, awesome!
do my tits count ?
lol yes!
I hula hoop in stripper shoes and I can do pole tricks while hooping. I climb to the top, lean back, let go and use my abs only to swing it around my neck. I can weird shit like do the splits while hooping on my shoulder. :)
It's totally gimmicky but it works sometimes. I work in a weird divey bikini bar where a lot of people come in "to drink" or just for the novelty of the club, and sometimes I make a lot onstage off those kind of crowds.
^glitzy, that sounds amazing! Would love to see one of your shows.
I would love to be more adventurous and use props in stage shows, think I'll be following this thread for some good ideas!
I also use small colorful silk veils..they look pretty if you spin on the pole (careful not to get wound up) and if I'm focusing in on one guy in particular at the stage's edge, I'll surround him to create our own privacy tent ..his friends always cheer him on
When I danced I only used one prop when I was bored and had one lying around. A water gun! I use to spray myself only. Slippery, wet stripper is kind of hot. It worked for me. I used to get pissed off and rip up a dollar sometimes, too. I would blow it out of my hand. Kind of really stupid, but also worked for me. I would not do that now.
I second slippery, wet strippers. I used to use ice cubes and drinks from the bar. If you take a little champagne or something and tip it onto your chest and let it drip & then rub it all around men go CRAZY. It's hilarious.
Also, it's super cliche but I love the top hat... it goes nicely with a cane that you can rub suggestively and swing around, put it through your legs, etc.
^^^ I got an LED hoop as a present to use on stage, but the darn thing got bent up in my suitcase the first time I traveled with it.
I want to skate on stage but i don't know if they allow it. Im a very good skater too.
ahhh fellow hooper here too although I suck at it :)
yeah try it...my club allowed me to dance with fire (owner told me i owe him a new stage if i do anything to it lol)
ohhhh and yes the ice cubes work like a charm..i had a small towel tucked in the corner of the stage to make sure it was dry before the next dancer came out..but yeah i had a cup of ice water near the stage , reached over and grabbed a pile of cubes, laid back on the edge of the stage near the stage running gentleman, and watched their faces as i slid it around and let it drip down
hehehehee
Bubble gum... I'd wear pink traditional stripper garb and lounge around blowing huge bubbles, popping them at climactic moments. Bad for the teeth but guys loved it. I sometimes costumes, like a sailor hat and a tie. So much you can do with a hat & a tie. Or a huge feather boa. But sometimes simple works best & props & costumes confuse customers.
^Those are some awesome ideas! Gosh I wish I could hula hoop. :( Or do pole tricks. Gah.
Any suggestions for cute props or things to do as a schoolgirl?
My costume right now includes a cute mini tie.
