I've never worked a day shift. However, the many strippers I've talked to about dayshift have said that the hustle tends to be easier, as most guys who come in during the day know exactly what they want and aren't planning on sticking around for hours and hours (unlike the night guys who wander in, don't seem to know why they're there, and end up drinking for the rest of the night without buying).
Obviously there are exceptions; but I've heard the money can be good. I don't see how it could beat a nightshift (unless you get lucky), but I've heard it's worth it.
This completely depends on your area and club though!!
I worked day shift a few times. I did well. I didn't make as much as I averaged working nights, but it sure as hell beats waiting tables. I agree with what charlie61 said about the customers generally know what they want and aren't just there to drink and hang out for hours, so you don't really have to hustle these guys like you might the night crowd.
Day shift has never been as good of money for me... less foot traffic simply means less potential for money. However, you just never know when you'll find a really good regular.

This seems to vary on a club to club basis ... at my club, daytime = half men knowing what they want half you have to work hard to get it out of them. Often you need to sit and bullshit for at least 10 minutes before they may even get a dance. The very first men to come in at open usually want a dance, but anytime during the next 10 hours who knows what they want.
Nighttime = almost gurantee for at least a few hundred dollars. Daytime you really need to work the dudes, as there are often not many to choose from.
Great club, but daytime requires more time.
i make the same money during the daytime as i do during nightshift, though it seems a lot of dancers who get accustomed to working nights really dislike working days because the atmosphere is just different.
but it is certainly worth a try.
I started out my dancing career on day shift and I averaged between $300-$500 a shift. I had built up quite a few regulars and plus I was a good hustler. I also worked day shift about a year a half ago and my best day I made $1250 before tipping out, walked away with $850 because the bouncer helped me get tips and a percentage was taken for funny money. I did pretty good during the day. For me the money wasn't really that much different. I think mostly I had more energy during the day, which helped me stay more focused on selling and less on partying (like on night shift). Yes, there are far less customers, but quality over quantity. Plus I thought it was much easier selling VIP during the day, go figure.
i worked day shifts in atlanta, and never walked out of there with less than $350. the hustle was slower, i could sit with a customer for an hour, he'd buy five dances, sit with another customer, he'd buy me lunch and then we'd go do five or six dances. it was les foot traffic, yes, but i didnt' have to worry about not making money, because most of the guys were there to get dances. even if i thought they were losers and were trying to date me, they STILL bought dances. i had many fewer "no"s on dayshift like i do at night. i PREFER to work nights, still, but dayshift isn't as bad as many girls make it out to be.
