YES, i can work when i want, socialise at work, i find it comes naturally (when in a good mood), i love being a show off and getting good attention, i get paid the same in a night as i would working a 9-5, 5 day a week job, if not more, (granted there are bad nights, but that comes with the job) i get to doll up and look like a star! and wear kinky outfits with really high kinky heels, and i love danicng on the pole :D
due to not having to work so often i get to spend more time with my bf :D.
theres prob more but i cant think right now lol.

....no
No. I love its earning potential compared to other jobs. I love a lot of things this job has given me (money, maturity, the ability to be a good conversationalist, etc.), but I do not love the job.
It was fun at first (honeymoon phase), but I'm over it. Good money = I continue stripping. But I'd abandon it in a second otherwise.
After thinking about it, though, I certainly love it compared to many other jobs I've had. There's nothing inherently wrong with stripping. I do love being able to choose my own schedule, and I like feeling respected by my customers. I like being in control (independent contractor). But I don't really love what the job entails.
Yes, I do. I love the freedom, the not having to work that much, the time I get to spend with my family, the attention, feeling sensual and sexy, the money, and the power.
I agree with Charlie. I love the fact that I can go to work when I want, make $100 an hour, and have lots of time to myself. However, the job itself is kind of nasty, lol. I am making plans right now to go back to school and pursue a PhD. I love the fact that I'm not stressed about having 6 more years of school in my future.....I know I'll never be a starving student again!
Yes, because I love to entertain and I suppose I have exhibitionist tendencies.
No, but I can't make similar money eating and watching tv.
I really do. I looove the entertainment part of the job. Making people smile and have fun. Being on stage. The rush I get from a great set. The energy of the club on a saturday night when everyones having a great time.. Interacting with people. Being a tease. The confidence I feel at work. Playing dress up with glamorous make up and feeling great. The power, especially when I have a douchebag try me and I put him in his place (and laughing at the perverts when they think they are getting me, when they arent!). The money (but I would still dance if my money went down--to an extent of course). The compliments. The freedom to do what I want when I want. Financial freedom and being set up for life. Not having to work a boring job and have an idiot boss breathing down my neck for bullshit money.
I've been dancing over 5 years.. No more honeymoon phase. I really do enjoy the job.
working retail made me appreciate stripping a LOT more. i don't really mind what the job entails, i don't just love lapdances, but i do love the money, and i do like being on stage.
but yknow, i totally agree with Carmen_b, i'm a lazy person, and i can't make ANY money lying on the couch watching tv, so i'll be a stripper. if sweeping streets made the same money as dancing, i'd do it too. and i'd probably love it. hahahahaha.
1) the money. I can make more in 2 days than I could working full time in a regular job
2) the freedom. Perfect for aligning with my university schedule
3) the girls. Believe it or not I love many of the girls I work with. They are awesome!
4) I love to shaky my groove thang! I love music and dancing.
Before I moved to LA, yes.
It was a great time with great coworkers and I made LOADS of easy money.
It also allowed me to support myself and still be able to afford little things I liked just becase even with my delicate health that prevents me from maintaining a normal fulltime job (I sometimes have to take a week or more off with little to no warning).
YES!!! because im in great shape, have lots of friends, get to travel, meeting great people, financially stable and im learning alot about how to conduct a business so i can apply it when i decide to run my own real business. the general rules of business apply to everything. PLUS its fun!
I dont necessarily love stripping, but i do love being a stripper.
I love being a stripper because i love the freedom money and lifestyle that comes with it. I love the fact that it is still taboo, i love the lack of schedules, the fact that i can move anywhere, and the fact that i have enough cash to garner power when necessary.
Do i love stripping though? The answer to that question would be different if you asked me on a 300$ night vs. a 1300$ night...
^ Yes, exactly. It really varies from night to night, season to season, year to year.
Yep. Love it. Hate 50% of the customers but I love the fact I can be rude to them and ignore them. Currently on vacation touring Europe with my sis and her wife for the last three weeks, I'm actually missing it and can't wait to get back to work.
Love the money, the freedom, the girls, the hilarious stories you hear, being able to drink at work... used to work damn hard at a day job and more or less enjoy it, doubt I could ever go back to that now though!
It's funny to me because so many of you talk about this job creating freedom from you by not having a schedule. Until recently, and always when I travel, there is a schedule. I love dancing but it there really were no schedule I'd probably love it even more. Where I am most dancers are forced onto a schedule, and even when I lived in San Francisco we had schedules.
NOLA and austin dont have schedules. you can go on a schedule in NOLA for free house fee if you want, but id rather shell out the 50$ and be able to come and go whenever i want. plus i usually make enough that the 50$ doesnt intimidate me.
in cleveland some of hte clubs required a schedule, but even so you made it in the beginning of the week and chose your own days and if you were on decent terms with management you could call off and you could come in on your off days.
No schedule is the only way I'll do strippin' !
No schedules were i am, you want to work somewhere then book in advance obviously, but if you dont feel like working, just dont book that certain day or week in, or switch to a diff club when you want, simple, love it! lol.

I've never worked anywhere that had a schedule.
They might ask you if you were going to work the next week, or if you could come in a specific day, but never a schedule.
yeah i've worked at clubs that have you fill out a schedule and would try to fine girls for not showing up but i was never fined and because i came in on a pretty consistent basis they didn't really care if i stuck to the schedule i gave them. however, if i were to be fined or whatever i probably wouldn't work at that club. flexibility is especially important to me because sometimes school gets hectic and i've worked regular jobs that would just stress me out and school has always been my priority, i'd say between the money and the flexibility is one of the perks of the job.
I want to add.
While I do stick to my origional post with the answer yes to this question I wanted to say that with this job, it is one or the other. When it's good it's great but when its bad its REALLY bad. The thing about this job is that it can be so personal. Even though it's not, it's luck and timing and a ton of other variables that decide if we make money or not and what hand we get dealt with the good/bad guys. But when it's bad, it can be so personal. And when people are at their worst, trying to bring us down and trying to break us, it can be really bad. Most of the time we rise above and we can fend off the negativity, but sometimes it does get us. And in those moments, I despise the job.
LUCKILY, that isn't too often! :)
OOps, I clicked on this thread because I thought it said "shopping."
