Re: Silly question, but...
No real life experience here, but when I've gone as a customer I've noticed girls on stage alone go around the stage when the song is up and collect their tips, but when there's more than one girl they take them up as their given and slip them in a garter. Or if your club allows it you can have customers put their directly in your garter.
Is that what you mean?
Re: Silly question, but...
That's exactly what I mean.
Re: Silly question, but...
Not a silly question! When I was starting out, it was the little detail questions like that that totally stuck in my OCD mind until I got them answered lol!
Every club is different, but at my club the guys come up and stand by the stage and you go over and they'll slip it into your garter, tuck it into the side of your skirt etc. If a guy wants to stage-tip you, he has to actually come up to the stage during the song and give it to you. Then again, my club is not as stage-focused as some clubs, girls don't make a lot of money from stage tips. In terms of other tips, the guys just give you it. Like a dance is $40, they'll just give you $45, etc.
Re: Silly question, but...
Not to t/j, but how do you get the money to stay in your garter/skirt/etc without bills falling out when a new tip is collected?
Re: Silly question, but...
I just pull my garter out when I want to collect my tip.
The money already in your garter should be rubberbanded. When you are on stage collecting tips, if it falls out of your garter it's not biggie. You can collect them all at the end of your set off the stage. Most of the time as I get tips, I take them out of my garter and throw them in the middle of the stage so I can avoid that problem all together. That's only if I'm getting alot of tips and it's more of a hassle to try to keep them in my garter then to just take them out and collect them when I'm ready to get off.
Are you only inquiring about stage tips? Or do you want to know how to collect dance tips as well?
Re: Silly question, but...
All my general money, I keep on my ankle garter banded up, but if I'm getting tipped on stage I've never really found money falling out to be a problem. Kind of like... first guy to tip puts it in the front of the garter, 2nd guy puts it in the back, 3rd guy tucks it into the side of my skirt, and so on. At my club, 3 or 4 guys is the max you're going to get while on stage, and then once I get off I band the tips up in my ankle garter. If you were in a club with a lot of stage tipping, I would definitely do what Ariel ^^ does... let the guy put the tip in your garter but then drop it onto the middle of the stage while you're dancing and gather them all up when you're done.
Re: Silly question, but...
I fold it longways in half and hold it in my hand.
Here is the youtube video I made on that topic
Keep Your Hands off My Money!
Re: Silly question, but...
It really depends on your region and club.
Normally when I dance I collect the tips as I'm dancing for the customers on stage. They'll have money up, I'll go do a few moves, take the money and sweep it towards the middle of the stage, then move to the next customer unless the first one puts out more cash fast enough. At the end of my set I collect all the cash I made from the middle of the stage.
In some clubs customers won't sit at the stages and a "tip walk" is customary. If that is the case in the club you are working you'll perform on stage and then go around the tip walk area asking if the customers would like to tip you for the show and introducing yourself so you can come back later to talk to them about private dances.
Re: Silly question, but...
One more silly question...Do you take money for tipouts on your audition day?
Re: Silly question, but...
^^^ I've never seen that. Normally you keep whatever you earn during your audition unless you are hired after the set and work the rest of the shift.
Re: Silly question, but...
I got hired yay!!! Tipouts are 30 during the week and 40 on the weekend. So not bad at all, plus I get half of every lap dance, vip, and champagne room sell. Time to up my hustle.
Re: Silly question, but...
congrats girl!!!! I'm excited for you :D
