Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
I always keep my ipod with me with pre-selected playlists ...I will watch to see what kind of crowd we have in the club and then select music I think they will like. Or if the dancer before me has a slow set, I'll go fast to switch it up. I loved themed sets...
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
Gothslut, death metal. Cannibal Corpse, Lamb of God, Celtic Frost, Sepultura, etc. If its a sunday and I don't want to scare the shit out of the 70+ senior citizens I tone it down to Korn, Manson, Zombie, Siouxsie and the Banshees or Danzig. Rammstein is always a good middle ground for me. I like hard, angry shit.
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
personally I like classic rock, and it's my target audiences fave as well so that works for me.
That being said, I do theme sets, so it depends on the set.
I was bored as hell last week and it was POURING outside, so I stole an umbrella from the manager and totally tap danced to "singing in the rain" with an umbrella and the crowd LOVED IT. I made BANK on stage. People were coming in off the street! It was hilarious. They played rat pack songs for me all night.
I've also done a fan/burlesque dance to muse's cover of feeling good, I do a teacher set to hot for teacher and schools out, I've done dominatrixey stuff to rob zombie and rammstein. Just depends on my mood. I really am lame on stage though. I just go around a smile and work the crowd and get tips. I almost never do pole work.
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
Recently I danced to "Take it off" by Kesha since it reminded me of the BYOB clubs here in town. I'm kinda just whatever to music, my only rule is no hip hop/r&b. I simply don't have the moves for that

Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?

Kidding -- that was only once.
I lovelove dancing to Rob Zombie (Pussy Liquor - GREAT SONG TO DANCE TO., and Living Dead Girl, along with The Devils Rejects) and Slipknot - Snuff.
And i like dancing to aerosmith :)
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
It used to be Peaches "Only AA" before the ba, but it lost it's meaning after so it became I Kissed a Girl. I also had my routines for Jane & Jay , Free your Mind, Milkshake, Dirty, Me Against the Music & Never Gonna Get it. Pink , No Doubt, & Garbage. They played any of that and every1 knew I was on stage doing my thing.
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
The clubs around here u hear a bunch of hip hop and pop. im not a fan of the booty clap and stuff of that nature. im not good at that and its not my personal definition of sexy. i used to dance to nothing but techno, kinda like a raver/stripper personna i guess in my day glo outfits. nowdays i only dance to rock. i do the rocker school girl thing mostly. sets me apart from the rest. i do a good amount of pole work, which is unusual around here. i get called a spider monkey alot, because u rarely see girls climb the pole. if people are just sitting there not tipping ill climb to the top and fall the 12 ft down into a split to grab some attention, or a handstand where i loudly stomp my feet when i get back into a standing position.

I know I'm kind of jumping in, but I swear, that just reminds me of alex taking off his weird jock strap thing in A Clockwork Orange. :O That movie kind of ruined that song for me I guess.;D
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
when i first started i danced to all hip hop music like t pain and usher, but ever since i let this one dj pick a set for me i've been dancing to completely different types of music
i love dancing to rammstein, puscifier, marilyn manson, korn, massive attack, and some others i cant think of..
it's funny because i come out onstage with long blonde hair and a white lingerie dress and then rammstein 'du hast' comes on and people are really surprised haha ;)
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
My "theme song," if I have one, is "Vehicle" by Ides of March. It's fun, funky, and my loyal (older) customers are familiar with it.
I also dance to a lot of Led Zeppelin and AC/DC.
When the DJ permits newer music, I'll do the occasional hip-hop number - "My Chick Bad" by Ludacris is my recent fave.
When I'm feeling more dramatic pole tricks, I'll play some Massive Attack, Radiohead, and Roisin Murphy.
Re: What music do you dance to? What's your theme?
Love jimmi hendrix, beatles, led zepplin, the who I love 70's rock/funk rock foxy lady and american woman are probably my theme songs....I also love closet freak by cee-lo and for some reason everyone loooves when I dance to this song. Weekends I like to switch it up with reggae because it makes everyone dance and in a party mood it seems, very rarely hip-hop. Oh and randomly call on me by david prdyz (sp?) Cause it gets me pumped!
