i can only speak from my area, north england, and yes, i can say, extra's happen, i dunno if they happen alot more or a little than they used to, but they do happen alot, i have noticed more, but i dont know if thats my own observasion skills lol. ive only been dancing 2 yrs.

Yep - I dance in Scotland, and not only has everyone's wages really gone down, so has the number of top earners that are clean. Most of the top earners I know offer extras, or at least pretend to. It's very tough hustling if you want to bank these days while staying clean.
London is the same aswell.
To my knowledge, strip club industry as we know it doesn't really exist outside English-speaking countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia)...there are two American/British style strip clubs in Milan that I know of (that mostly cater to British tourists), but overall in Europe strip clubs are just not a big industry like in the US, UK, etc.
I'd be interested to hear from some of the girls in places like Australia where brothels are legal and there are strip clubs as well.
Kylea- Brothels are legal but you still can't legally do "extras" in a strip club, right? Like Vegas? You have to be a licensed brothel?
Not sure about Australia, but prostitution in NZ is legal as well. Never worked there, but to my knowledge strip clubs and brothels are seperate establishments (though some cater to both, eg Mermaids in Wellington which has a stripclub downstairs and a brothel upstairs).
I have a friend who danced in Australia, no extras.
As far as I know, extras probably can't be done in the same exact room/place as dancing, as the establishment would be licensed differently, and girls get paid differently too.
There's quite a few clubs in Europe, but you're right in that they're not as common as in the USA and UK.
Spain is really big during golfing and summer season, though mainly catered towards people on holiday (so yes, lots of brits!) and dead in winter. Lots of money and lots of dirty dancing.
There's a few big clubs in Paris, Danemark, Copenhagen, Luxembourg, Germany - but from what I've heard, they're more upscale clubs where you make money off champagne sales rather than dancing. Apparently there's still doing pretty good.
There's also clubs in Greece and Turkey, but I've been told to stay away from them.
I'm in Jersey (US) and I've seen plenty extras going on, like others were saying it's getting worse now. It just baffles me that there ARE legal places to be a prostitute, yet these girls are coming into the clubs and ruining it for everyone else..don't you make more money as an escort/prostitute (i would hope!?) Why waste their time in a SC making everyone else's lives hell..ugh, sorry /rant
^^ Not necessarily. I mean, the girls that charge low, low, cheap prices for extras in clubs wouldn't make more. But If they took their act out of the club and actually Escorted, then who knows- maybe?
The UK has just recently made it illegal to visit a brothel/parlor for the purpose of purchasing sexual favours. on the grounds that the girl might of been there against her will.
now i understand that trafficing goes on, but they dont even ask the girl or test her on if she did it off her own accord, there should be some sort of lisence to sell sex here. but the governement arnt brainy enough obviously.

My understanding is that they are totally separate. Theoretically I would think that would be really helpful because if they guys are looking for sexual favours they would go to a brothel, if they want entertainment they go to the strip club. I'd like to hear from the Australian dancers if that's actually how it works out though.
I have heard tons of Australian dancers talk about how much they hate American tourists because they are "cheap". I suspect American tourists also probably have gotten to the point of expecting extras in the club, which would be another reason the Australian dancers may not like them.
GoldCoastGirl would probably know. Is she still around these days? Sacha signed up awhile back as well, but I don't know that she dances in the clubs really - more just privates.
Also, as Mindy said with the US girls providing extra in the club a good portion couldn't do it outside of the club. The club offers more potential customers to them... so if they aren't good at marketing themselves and don't value what they are doing much then the club probably works out better for them. Although to me, they are still a PITA to have around.
Agreed. Completely agreed.
I also think it's definitely a smart thing to keep brothels and SC's separate. The non-extras girls would barely make money if they combined, plus it just seems seedy to me.
I worked as an escort for a while but I would never EVER take custies from a strip club or let them cross over in between [i knew a lot of escorts who didn't do extras work at the club, but would see men as custies OTC which IMO is STILL stealing]. That's just rude and bad for everyone. Not to mention, hustling for escort work at a SC is the least discreet thing ever. Maybe I am just more sensitive to it because I was also a dancer for a long time...?
Mindy - The extras girls in my old club didn't make that much per 'extra' (as far as I know... obv. we didn't really discuss finances too much...), but when I escorted independently I made more money than when I was stripping. Still felt the recession pretty bad though. Worse than what I felt dancing in the clubs, IMO. Also, i like your new avatar! Pretty pretty :)
Money is down a lot in Australia..i'm working twice as hard, looking better and making less than i used to when i started 3 years ago :(
We have brothels here..not sure how they are money-wise.
im in germany. its hard over here too. but its different than the usa, uk or australia. you can make some money. there of course some clubs where you have the struggle against extras girls. my club doesnt have that tho
sydney, australia.
changing clubs. past month or two had a lot of new girls bring the standard down. boss seems to hire on blow job abilities [for him of course] so extras have doubled and more junkies as well. and coz of that more and more customers are expecting it. this is why im moving to a cleaner club with cameras everywhere incl private rooms where they really pick n choose their girls....
us non extras girls arent doing really well cash wise
^^OMG! You are going to love the change... nothing. I mean NOTHING happens under Rob's watch.
Im also in Sydney and there sure as hell aren't any extas. There is no touching allowed at all, so unless you are getting numbers and escorting off of them it is impossible. I don't really see why any girls would bother with it anyway because escorting is legal here. Girls do have dinners/dates with good regulars or they will take them shopping etc. The majority of the girls where I work are pretty together. Extras girls don't last very long when they realise they can't make any money here.
I should mention this here, I've been getting reports back from a friend of my who teaches ESL in other countries. She's in Mongolia now and checked out a few strip clubs. She said they were more "brothels" and that a dance costs what is equal to $2.50 in the US.
Hi! I haven't started working in a club yet, I'm auditioning this summer, but I have been a frequent guest in clubs previously over the last years. In my country (let's just say Scandinavia for now, there aren't that many clubs here) there are different types of clubs and I know the police raided one in my city last year and found strippers offering extras. This was in a more dingy type of club.
But the club I'm auditioning for is a upscale gentlemen's club and there you do money only on selling champagne and table dances. These sales are still doing good here and the girls in that club never offer any extras. They don't need to. (And the club owner forbid them to.)
I think southern Europeans struggle more than we do, up here in the north.
Yeah as I read and observe lots of other countries do have lots of night clubs ..but cheaper rate,,..,
