I've never detoxed in my life. I've always been of the mindset of "I'm healthy. My body is in perfectly working order. A well-oiled machine. I don't need to clean anything so long as it's doing what it's supposed to."
Not to mention I know that cleaning yourself out too often can actually harm your system rather then help it.
But! I realize that my views are a bit skewed. I know it would be better to do a detox when I'm at my best rather than when I start to head downhill.
When I go back to dancing I'll be working 52 hours a week between two jobs, and half of these hours will be divied up between THREE CONSECUTIVE 14-hour work days. I need to keep my body in tip-top shape to avoid getting sick.
Where would I begin to start a detox? How often should I do it? What else should I do to keep my immunity up?
Please note: I live at home, my family is your typical midwest-appetite family (Hamburger Helper, Barbecue, Pie, Cake, Baked and Fried everything) so getting healthy food in the house is next to impossible. I need an EASY routine.
And finally - What the heck are the real benefits of detox?? I'm sick of reading these pamphlet, salesperson ads of the "miracles" of detox. I want a solid, concrete answer of what the fuck do I NEED to do detox for and what are some REAL results I can expect from it?
