Re: Bad first impressions
I've been in a situation like this before. It's annoying. Just tell your friends you don't wanna hear it. The guy cares about you obviously. They were the ones that weren't too concerned about you drinking then having to drive home. Tell them you're glad to have someone who cares that much for you.
Re: Bad first impressions
You probably should call and apologize to your 911 friend now that you aren't inebriated.
Re: Bad first impressions
I did that when I called him to let him know I made it home safe. I was sobered up by then.
Re: Bad first impressions
Ah, the beauty of mis-communication. This is what soap operas are based on - people hearing select parts of conversations or mishearing them entirely.
I'd just tell the other two guys that what your 911 friend was saying made sense in the context of the conversations, and leave it at that. Hopefully Mr. 911 isn't upset anymore and you two can continue being buddies.
Re: Bad first impressions
Oh yeah. This incident actually happened a couple weeks ago, but it came up in conversation with one of the other two guys I was drinking with. 911 and I are still close buddies. He (JOKINGLY) threatened to punch my face last night and I told him he could do it only if he promised to kiss it better :D
Re: Bad first impressions
At least they dont know each other so other "accidents' wont happen. The 911 guy seems like a good guy from what you wrote... Basing things on his job, he probably stresses over such things more than a regular person.. Showed he cared for you and your safety. Doesnt seem like he is controlling at all either. I think the other guy friends were either jealous, or realized that tey were at fault in all drinking.. or just being assholes since they saw a guy that cares.. Hopefully that was the last time they said those things, and tell them to stop and that you know him better.
