Amazon doesn't show your address, but third party sellers do.
If you add things only sold by amazon your fine, but the problem is a lot of good items are sold by sellers other than amazon, and those are the ones that give your address out. Also, with just items from amazon, they get your name and city. With just your first and last name they can still get a lot of information offline.
I imagine the universal button gives out your address as well since third party sellers do, but I'm not sure. I'd love to see other responses.
oo i was wondering the same thing. i clicked on a wishlist once and it had a full name and addy. that just isnt safe imo.
what about using paypal as a donation? there is nothing against getting tipped in a paypal account. u could always take some stuff you want, show the pics and add a tip me button for paypal donations...i think paypal is okay with that.
amazon shows your city.
Could you rent a p.o box and use it as your work address?
Yes and no. If you're using it to just receive packages, it's the safest and most convenient route to go. However, if you're trying to incorporate your cam girl persona into an actual business (with a business license and a DBA) you need a real physical address.
Speaking of which, if you ARE trying to incorporate AND you need an address to ship packages to, look into "virtual offices" You can google them, or if you look in craigslist under "housing", then "office/commercial" you'll find local virtual offices. They're usually on the cheap, and you can register your business address there, receive packages, etc...
If you just want an address to ship wishlist items to, go for the PO Box.
Also, FYI, YOU DO NOT NEED THE LARGE PO BOX. The letter size ones will do just fine, they will keep your packages behind the counter for you.
Paypal shows your full name too.
The only way to do Paypal safely is to have two paypal accounts. Your normal one, that has your real name and is verified with bank/cc...and a second one with your camming name that you don't verify. Have guys send $$ to your second paypal, so all they'll see is your cam name (mine is Ashleigh Smith) and then transfer the money from your second paypal to your private one.
As for Amazon, third party sellers will give the guys your name/address. You can get a p.o. box to avoid the address getting out there, but its hard getting around the name thing since most Post offices require ID when picking up packages.
argh to confusing for me, ill not make one haha.
the paypal idea with 2 accounts seems good tho ty xx

Uhhh...aren't you forgetting that accepting adult transactions through paypal is against their TOS??? If you set up a paypal account through a fake name and then transfer money to your "real" account, that's SUPER illegal. We're talking FEDERAL crime.
You could get slapped with the following charges:
Fraud.
Money Laundering.
Tax Evasion.
To think that you won't get caught and will slip through the cracks is also ludicrous. That's how they got Al Capone, tax evasion.
These are ALL felonies. You will do hard time for them. Once it's on your record, you're screwed, you will forever be a felon, you'll also be losing your right to vote and losing your passport. And good luck getting a straight job being a felon. Have kids? Want kids? If you ever get into a custody battle with your current or future SO over custody, you'll automatically lose cuz you're a felon!
Call me crazy, but doing hard time and ruining my entire life for an extra couple hundred bucks is SO not worth it.
There are TONS of other payment processors out there who DO accept adult transactions. Epassporte, Ecampay, Zombaio, CCBill, Alertpay, Niteflirt, Talksugar....why take the risk?
Ugh .... this stuff does suck.
Amazon DOES show your city ( I was doing phone sex and panty sales via my blog and wanted a wish list ). I am in a large city and accepted a few gifts , but I got nervous and cancelled it.
I was also SHUT DOWN by paypal by putting their buttons on my blog . I DID get to keep my money ( I only had $200 in there when I was shut down because I would never let it get high ) . I had to go in and promise to not ever to use paypal for any adult service again to be able to keep the money and it was a huge pain. I used my dancer name and transfered funds to my real checking account ( they didn't say anything about that , just the adult services ).
The whole thing was a giant pain in the ass.
I ended up accepting GIFT CARDS through Amazon and placing my own orders for things ( they only need your email to send you a card ) . I used my dancer persona for all my boxes. They can't get your real info from sending you a gift card ( or at least it didn't cause me any problems ) .
I gave up and just started dancing in clubs again.
Domino - try having them send you the amazon gift cards. They don't really " send " anything , a code gets emailed to you to spend the money ! I think this will be at least an immediate small fix to accept the presents.
i had a guy tip me via paypal, then a month later he requested the money back, saying he never received the item. since i had no proof that any item was ever exchanged, he won and the money got taken back. it was really shitty. for that reason alone i don't even want to use paypal for tributes anymore.
amazon is fine if you just stick to items sold through amazon. i created my amazon account with my stage name but same address. the only thing that shows up for the customer when purchasing things off of a wish list that are sold by amazon is the name and city. if you ship it to your house, yeah it'll show your city but the guy won't have a real name so who cares? unless i'm missing something...
LADIES, DO NOT EVER USE PAYPAL FOR TIPS, SELLING PICS, CAMMING, ETC. You will lose your money and get your account closed. The guy can, at any time, tell paypal he wants his money back and you will get in trouble and get that money taken back. It's not worth it. There are so many other payment methods. Ecampay, epassporte, alertpay, etc.
wow pp wont even let tips fly? they really have some balls keeping people's money with no proof of ne wrong doing besides hearsay.
holy chill lol.
Yes, paypal doesn't generally accept adult transactions, but people still use it. Hell, you can just hop on ebay and essentially buy porn, used panties, nude photos, etc using paypal. The sellers selling pornography and adult items or services on ebay don't get in shit, obviously, so there has to be some sort of loophole, because ebay and pp are partners and they let adult transactions fly all the time on ebay.
And its only tax evasion if you don't pay your taxes. I'm sure most of the girls here are smart and pay their taxes, and on time.
I was only suggesting a way to keep things private using paypal. I know alot of girls have a pp set up for their customers and don't use it for adult transactions...just for customers sending them gifts or money to buy clothes with etc. Nothing "adult" about that...its all with how you use your paypal.
You didn't need to spaz at me:P
The mentality of "people still use it," it being PayPal, is the reason why I and the other camgirls have a billion guys asking them every 5 fucking seconds if we accept PayPal (even if we say no on our listing sites/blogs/whatever), and that's annoying as hell. I can't speak for everyone but I can't stand this PayPal bs. Some girls do accept it, stupidly or maybe naively, and I really wish they wouldn't.
(not to keep derailing your thread, Jess, just wanted to throw in my 2c lol, couldn't help it) :P
One woman's spaz is another woman's trying to keep every girl on this thread plus how many 10s of other camgirls who lurk on the forums out of jail.
Look, this is the adult entertainment business. One of the industries that is known to be rife with people trying to get "easy" money without paying Uncle Sam.
Sure, you could accept paypal via a fake account, wire it into your real one, and then pay your taxes with it. But keep in mind, you're an independent contractor. Every single business manual you will ever read, non-adult business and adult business alike, will tell you the US government is NOTORIOUS for auditing independent contractors. So guess what, even though you've paid your taxes, you will have to go through the auditing process, which you will have to show where all of your money came from. And when they audit you, they will find the fake paypal account, and they WILL nail your ass with fraud and money laundering!
Tax evasion aside, from a legal perspective, transferring money from one place to another with the intention of circumventing the system is called money laundering. That is illegal. Setting up a paypal with a fake name in attempt to circumvent the system is called fraud. That is also illegal.
Camming is a stupid ass reason to go to jail. If you're gonna do time, at least let it be for something interesting, like espionage.
You have to keep in mind that for every girl who's commenting on this post, there are 50 other camgirls not commenting, reading, and taking notes. Every single one of those camgirls is an independent contractor. There is a VERY good chance that one of them will be audited at some point during their camming career. It'd be awesome if they could NOT go to jail in the process.
Sorry dude, but I can't sit idly by and let people give out advice that could land others in jail. I will "spazz" out all day to prevent that from happening.
I'd say the chance of them catching you if you put the paypal buttons on your blog or website is very high. My blog was tiny and didn't even get that much traffic and I got caught. The gifts thing might work short term, but for gifts .... truly .... just have the customer buy on Amazon gift card for you. I've had NO problems using those.
If you accept gift cards do you have to claim that money on your taxes or is it considered a gift?
I'm pretty sure that because you can't exchange them for cash, technically it's considered a gift, but I may be wrong.
The Feds would like people to claim gifts on their taxes so that we can be taxed on those as well (I am not paying taxes on the $20 in the birthday card I got from my grandma, kiss my ass!) and I know that "gifts" over a certain amount (I don't remember how much exactly, but it's in the lower end of the four digit range) HAVE to be reported to the IRS.
