Re: Started 3 days ago......
Youtube is a great place to look to learn some easy moves and there's even some tutorials you could check out! Starting out with spinning poles always take your time and go slow. Like, if you're going to do a spin, do it slower than how you usually would since with spinning poles it's WAY less effort than the static ones! Good luck!
Re: Started 3 days ago......
Don't use ANY momentum when trying a move on the spinning pole. You'll gain it naturally.
I'm not sure where you could pick up some new moves without classes or YouTube but whatever you do, BE SAFE on the spinner!!!!
Re: Started 3 days ago......
Seriously! I have learned to slow it down a bit but I forgot last night & spun waaay too fast. I literally felt like I was drunk for a minute. How embarrassing to hop off the pole & stumble around like a lush. Wont be doing that again. lol.
Re: Started 3 days ago......
Remember, the closer you are to the pole, the faster you'll go. So extend your body if you want to slow down.

^^ Good point. Also, when the club is dead practice putting your leg down in a sexy way once you're up there... if that makes any sense. Like if you are clinging to the pole and it starts spinning out of control, know how to gracefully sweep one leg to the floor to stop it, and then, possibly keep both hands on the pole while you do a practiced move that is semi-steady, even if it's just shaking your hips or something. Plan out a few steady moves that will be easy to do right after a lot of spinning takes place, otherwise you look wasted. Ha.

I'd also recommend starting by "stepping" onto the pole. Instead of taking a running leap at it, just use the top of your foot (which is hopefully protected by shoe material that sticks to the pole) + your arm muscles to step onto the pole, and then wrap your other leg around the pole... This will help you control your momentum.
Not sure if that makes sense.
