How important is pole work during an audition?
I know that a lot other newbies have asked about whether not knowing any pole tricks will hurt their chances (general consensus: no), but will knowing some basics give me a significant boost? I know a few spins and can invert-right now I'm working on doing them gracefully lol. Or are the clubs getting so seedy now that pole work doesn't really matter? I'm in SF btw.
Re: How important is pole work during an audition?
Its not really. Just look your best, do use the pole, maybe a little spin or twirl here and there, as long as you can take your clothes off and act sexy then you're good to go. Gl
Re: How important is pole work during an audition?
Not important at all. Unless the club specifically grills you about previous dance experience or is extremely stage focused, they don't care. Most clubs reason for auditioning you is because they want to see what you look like stood in lingerie next to a pole, and they want to make sure you actually do have the guts to take your clothes off on stage. Plenty dancers are veterans and still only have basic pole moves, if you can spin around it and do inverts, you're doing good already! ;D

I did nothing on the pole but use it to steady myself during poses. Let them know you are new and they won't judge based on skill, but instead your look and seemingly ability to learn.

Yup, Imma pole gurl & I wouldn't recommend any newbie doing tricks for audition!!!! They are really not that important!
Re: How important is pole work during an audition?
Definitely not important. At the most, you might just lean up against the pole as you move seductively.
