My first night dancing...
...was not too bad. Like I mentioned in the "Which Outfit?" thread, the place is a dive; the upside, however, is that it was relatively busy for a Thursday.
I got there a little after nine, walked in and spoke with the manager (who is also the main bartender). She looked me up and down, asked if I was over 21, and told me I could start working since I had all my stuff with me.
Although I was expecting to either be totally ignored or intimidated by the other dancers (who all have at least 5+ years on me and 2-4 kids), a few were pretty nice. One took me under her wing and told me all the rules, etc. She pointed out the regulars and helped convince a guy to give me my first dance. We did a couple of doubles together, too, which also helped.
I bought a couple used outfits off the other dancers, and was able to change a few times because of this (we're supposed to change 2-3 times a night).
The not-so-great parts of the night involved me letting guys yap my ear off for too long. I sat there, waiting for them to pause in their convo so I could leave, but man, they are good! One was crazy, and I kinda feared he would make a scene if I left, so I excused myself to the dressing room. It's also hard to get away when (since it's a small club) every other guy in the bar already has a girl with him. I'm too sweet- I need to be more of a bitch, I think. At least when it comes to time wasters, lol. I did have a couple men (who didn't want dances) pay me for my time- which is good!
On stage- meh. I'm pretty stiff and sucky, but I don't really care. I just smiled at every dude at the tip rail and it seemed to work. Eye-contact FTW!:)
Only downside is that I work full time during the day from 8-3, and my shift at this club is always from 9-3. So, it was 4am by the time I got home and I had to get my ass up by 6am to get ready/drive to work. I should have gotten a nap today after my first job, but I was going to try to audition someplace else (for more $ potential). Well, I couldn't find the place, gave up, and drove back home only to end up with too little time for a nap. So, here I am, an hour and a half until I work and I'm about to fucking drop.
Sorry this was so long, lol.:P
Re: My first night dancing...
Congrats on your first night! The bitchness and the stage will come naturally as time goes. Seems like a nice club and you seemed comfy. Remember to set your limits and dont do anything youre not comfy with. And damn girl.... get some more sleep! getting home T 4am and waking up 6am for work will cause a stressful and unhealthy lifestyle. Maybe change up the time on dancing to something more better for you?
Re: My first night dancing...
^^Thank you! Yeah, I wasn't thinking clearly when I set my schedule at the club- I was too distracted. In the future, I think I'll try to schedule working just Friday night- that way, I can try out at another club on Saturday.
My second night, I made $305 before tip out- so at least I did better! I think that's probably pretty crappy though, compared to what I could be making in this area, which is why I'm going to check out other clubs.
Re: My first night dancing...
Yaaaaaay! Way to go hun, keep it up and you'll be making bank in no time!
Re: My first night dancing...
Congrats on your first night. Observe how others work and WORK the floor. You will be surprised how many tips u will make on stage.
Re: My first night dancing...
Sounds pretty alright tho for a first night ;)
I am so tempted to do this myself. dancing itself does not concern me, i have a pole at home that ive practiced on and im gettin really good. my whole problem is that... im shy... unless ive had a few shots of liquid courage in which case ill chat your ear off.
anyways, congrats!
Re: My first night dancing...
Yeah, things are going pretty well. My take home amount keeps rising (was $443 yesterday), so I think I'm learning alright.
Of course, I know I'll keep doing better and better! I like the $$$!

I can't even remember the last time I made over $300! (probably why I quit stripping... Lol)
Awesome job! :D

That's exactly what the other girls at work tell me all the time.
That's okay by me anyway- I think I'm going to switch clubs soon. The one I'm at now is known to be the dirtiest in town and there is a fight damn near every night. My first week, a guy followed me out to my car to proposition me for sex. Luckily, there was a bouncer standing outside and he told him to back off, but it was still fucking scary. The same dude was standing outside the club by the parking lot the next day before my shift and tried to get me to talk to him again. I don't like being pestered/stalked like this when I firmly told him NO inside the club originally (before he started this behavior).
