Quick question about outfits and fishnets
So I went and bought some stripper shoes and outfits but I can't figure out what exactly I'm supposed to wear at an audition or when I start working. I've never even been to a club before and I can't afford to go now.
I have some bikinis, thongs, dresses, skirts. Now what? How am I supposed to put it all together? What do I wear on the floor vs on stage? Do I layer it all, like thong, bikini, dress? Or do I go out there in just bikini?
And this is probably a dumb question but, what do you DO with the fishnets when your dancing? I got a pair of fishnet tights, not thigh-highs, and I can't figure out how to make them work if I'm going to be taking all my clothes off because it looks terribly unsexy without something to cover the top part of them up. Am I supposed to put the thong/bikini OVER them? Then what about when I take that off, and I'm left in nothing but fishnet tights? That wouldn't look good... Should I just take them off with my bottoms?
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
Hahahaha, oh baby girl, I'm so sorry. I don't work in a club but the ladies will be able to help. So far my advice for you is thigh high fishnets and a garter belt.
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
yeah you need thigh high fishnets. and really its hard to say what you should wear on the floor since we arent in the same area, just bring all your things and see what kinda things everyone else is wearing
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
Errrr I wouldn't wear fishnets that weren't thigh highs. Most places you have to strip to a thong or nude and it might look awkward... Are you working fully nude or topless? Start with something simple, a bikini with a thong underneath and 5 inch heels. or a dress with a thong underneath, depending on the club. Make sure if you are working topless to have actual dancer's thongs... nothing see through or too narrow in the back.
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
Ditch the fishnets. Unless you cut them to thigh highs & wear a garter belt they won't really be sexy on stage. Also, garter belts & peeling fishnets off are not a thing for beginners to really be attempting.
When you get to the club check to see what the other girls are wearing. If they have on skirts/dresses then you'll wear one with a thong. If its a bikini club you will probably wear just the bikini, possible a skirt over the bottom.
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
Oops, sorry, true. When it comes to garter belts beginners need not apply, my bad.
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
It is a good idea for your first time at any new club, no matter how long you have been dancing, to bring a sampling of outifts. Just in case there seem to be trends or rules you were not informed of.
Also, I would not layer a bikini under a dress. I would either wear a dress with a thong/ bikini bottom underneath or just the bikini.
As far as the fishnets, unless you can cut them into thigh highs you will probably have to save them for your regular wardrobe. Trust me, it would look very ungraceful trying to peel off stockings in heels, and the waistband situation on most regular stockings is deeply unflattering to the figure. Thigh highs are your best bet as far as stockings for dancing.
Good luck, have fun, and don't worry - everything will fall into place!
Re: Quick question about outfits and fishnets
The thing about full fishnets is that they won't do you much good if you are in a club where thongs or t-backs are the norm. You will take most of your song trying to take them off, and that would be a waste of time. The only time that i wore full fishnets was in a club where we had to wear booty shorts, and we couldn't;t take off the bottoms, so I would wear the full nets and put the shorts over it.. it looked awesome. I also had a pair of thigh high fishnets. I would not recommend wearing a g-string or t-back over full fishnets, it would not look sexy.
Also, i would suggest wearing the bikini top and bottom, and cover the bottoms with a skirt. that way you can strip out of the top and the skirt and leave your bottoms on.
If you wear a dress, then layer it over a bikini top and bottom, so that you can strip it off one piece at a time.
When you dance, do not take your clothes off the same way that you would do at home. You know, yank them off and throw them across the room... Take them off slowly, and in a sensual way, so that the act of taking the article of clothing off, keeps their attention and interest. Have some class and treat it as a performance, and you'll look better than the other dancers who take their clothes off as if they were in a locker room.
Consider wearing something over your top and bottom so that when you are out on the floor you don't have all eyes ogling you. It is harder to get a dance when you're already mostly naked. The point of the customer getting the dance is so that he gets to see more than he would if you were covered up. Your club may have rules telling you that you can not be topless unless you are doing a stage set.
Overall you want to wear something that you can layer but also something that is easy to strip out of.
Also, don't forget to point your toes when you do floor work or pole tricks. Can't recall how many dancers that I have seen who dance while keeping their feet flat, instead of having some grace and poise.
AND do not stare in the mirror watching yourself dance for the whole stage set. Seen too many dancers do that too, and the customers get bored real quick with that.
What really makes money are the dancers who smile, no matter how rough the night is going . Also, the dancers who:
1. have incredible stage presence, or
2. are able to keep customers attention by maintaining eye contact
Remember those simple things and you'll be successful. Good luck with your audition
