Funny you should bring this up, as there is a thread on the Pink side right now asking for "suggestions" on how to better overcharge customers (her words, not mine). It's from the same dancer who also started the "bait and switch" thread, so it's not surprising at all. In any business, once you cross into the "I'll say
anything to get the sale or take your money," you've pretty much lost your soul.
A ROB is a ROB is a ROB. You can dress it up anyway you want, and even use that lame "we're independent contractors" excuse, but a $20 dance costs $20, not $30 and certainly not $40.
When it happens to me, I just shut down. I politely thank them and tell them I'm not interested. I'm not gonna argue, and when I get the inevitable, "But I'm worth it" retort, I smile and say, "I'm sure you are, but I have no interest. Thanks." (FWIW, these dancers rarely are worth it, except in their own inflated sense of self-worth.)
I understand strip clubs can bring out the worst in people, both customers and dancers. But as we are reminded constantly, by both dancers and customers on thi site, it's tough out there right now. It boggles the mind that a dancer would risk blowing out a possible good immediate sale and a new mid-to-long term relationship (in a strict dancer/customer sense) to make a quick extra $20 or $40 or even $100. Talk about not being able see the forest for the trees.
And dancers, when you reply to this message, please,
please try to something other than "Stripping is different and you don't understand." To that I can only say:
