Re: Investing in yourself?
I wouldnt say being polished directly effects income... but I know if my hair, nails, makeup, tan, costume is prime my confidence is prime and I make more money. If you can feel just as confident looking like the girl next door, all the power to ya. But for me, there is no way I would make money with my everyday look in the club.

yeah I totally agree ,some people can pull it off, others not so much.On the other hand some women might look silly if they are too dolled up some others look great.I think it is what we feel most comfortable wearing and doing,at the end of the day;D
Re: Investing in yourself?
yeah, i think different looks are better for different girls, just the same way different girls will do better at different clubs.
this thread totally has me taking notes. lol. i'm gonna start working again soon, and i'm upping my game. gonna get my nails did for the first time ever. soooo nervous about that. it'll look pretty and stuff, but omg, i don't want anyone fucking with my cuticles.
Re: Investing in yourself?
I actually have a biting problem! If i wouldn't have my nails done, aka acrylics, I bite my nails and the skin around it.Yes I know it is disgusting:O
Re: Investing in yourself?
I agree that you're doing those things more for your own confidence but I know for me that's = more $$. Long hair(in most cases) and nice nails (don't have to be fake, but clean) are things that guys notice. I started noticing that they also don't care as much about your face as your body, I think for most guys we are interchangeable.

seriously, shoes only every 6 months? am I the only shoe killer here? I notice a lot of girls at work wear their shoes for long periods of time too, but I hate that foggy scratched dullness clear shoes inevitably get.
The laser does hurt. Some areas are worse than others. But the pain only lasts during the procedure, and then it's prettymuch gone. You can't dance the same day, but usually you're find by the next day. I have a few treatments left under my paid plan, and then after that it'll just be two years of free touch-ups on those areas.
As for shoes, I had a few pairs that I owned for two or three years. My feet rarely sweat in open-toed stripper shoes, (I was cold a lot) so they didn't get gross in that sense. I never wear clear shoes, so the scratches aren't noticeable. I wear shoes until they break or they become uncomfortable. I actually had three shoes break in one shift (all of them years old), at which point I took my new ones out of the box:)
On the topic of work-related investments, I just got my order from Urban Decay: their professional size SQUEEZE TUBE of Primer Potion for the eyes. This primer is awesome, and allows me to cut down on getting ready when I work multiple days in a row because I can wash everything besides my eye makeup off, sleep in it, and wake up looking like my eyes were freshly made up. The giant tube will last me at least three years (it's not that stupid shape their normal ones are in), save me time and money on applying (and buying) eye makeup, and the squeeze tube takes away the only irritating part of my makeup routine (digging out the fucking product from the stupid bottle). $34 for at least three years worth of stress-free eye makeup application. WIN!
Re: Investing in yourself?
(Rant) What's the point sometimes? Go in, hair done, makeup impeccable, nice outfit and for fucking what? Some stupid little twit who dances like an epileptic bunny rabbit, not even bothering to shower is letting patrons finger her nasty snatch for dollars. Why the fuck do we even bother sometimes.
I'm saying this as I'm painting my nails and washing my outfits. Sorry I hate what this industry has degenerated into sometimes. I had to vent.
Getting waxed tomorrow, gonna treat myself to a massage later.
Re: Investing in yourself?
^ totally with you. it's a shame that so many clubs are so busy thinking of the fast buck instead of sustained income.
they seem to think that all guys want to finger a stranger for a dollar. sorry, no. a lot of guys are actually turned off by clubs like that.
at this point, i think i'm gonna use customer comments as a barometer for the club i'm at. if they're all rude jerks, i should probably find a different club. even if i have to step up my game, work out more, and invest in my looks in order to get hired at one.
melonie was totally right about stripping splitting into the few nice clubs and the majority of clubs going to shit.
Re: Investing in yourself?
Honestly, I do all this shit more for me than any of these assholes. ^^^^ I feel gross and ugly if I'm not waxed and primped. I do my situps and work out for ME.
You know, I'm watching Interview with the Vampire right now and its that scene where Lestat is talking to Louis about being a vampire in the New world vs Paris. "Here all one needs is a pair of fangs". I know just how Lestat feels. These days all you need is a fucking pussyhole to be a stripper. The ones that are posting on here look around. We are the last of a dying breed.
I'm old school all the way and that includes vampires. I am not a fan of certain franchises that shall remain nameless. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Clothes. Lots and lots of clothes.
