Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Hey girls, so Ive spent the past two years dancing in Australia and making really good money - the guys know how to have fun here!
Unfortunately its time for me to return to the UK and Im really having trepidations about it...
I was making around $2500 a week working around 4 nights a week here in Aus. And Id like to make at least £1000 a week in London and surrounds working 5-6 nights a week, is this even possible?
I mean at the club I was at, we were charging $100 for 15mins no touching from the customer and all clean nude dances with no stretching legs open etcetera - yeah we had it mad good! We also got tipped on stage which I know the UK doesnt do (bummer!)
On top of that, the club only took 20% commission and didnt charge house fee and in the UK, they charge both.
So, my question is this:
Does anyone know of a club where they dont charge both house fee AND commission in London?
Also, I dont want to work at Stringfellows or any of the Spearmint Rhinos, been there, done that, Im not a high class club girl, I have tattoos and I like working class men. I did work at Secrets Hammersmith but Id like to work at a bigger club this time. I know in the time Ive been gone there is a club every 10 yards in London these days and a friend of mine works at a club in Northampton on the weekends so Im thinking about going out that far too.
Also, are there any clubs that allow touching from me to the customer (obviously not crotch area!) but I like to be able to stroke the back of their head or massage their shoulders without getting into trouble!
Any info on London clubs is greatly appreciated! Is it still £20 for a 3 song dance?
Oh and, I wont work at gown clubs, I absolutely HATE wearing long dresses.
Thanks so much for your input! :D

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
What about 'Browns' you get paid for your stage shows and private dances.
Pretty sure there is no touching though.

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Im not sure Browns will accept me as I have tattoos :)

I hear they're alot more laid back these days you could give it a go.
Alternatively if you don't mind traveling and you want to get paid for stage shows there is 'The White Horse' in High Wycombe.

You can do full contact lapdances and grinding there :)

I should add you don't have to do wither, but touching is allowed and there is no 1 metre rule there

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Thanks Brooke, yeh, Im actually thinking about doing pub shows instead, the guys are more appreciative than in strip clubs where they also charge you far too much to work and have too many stupid ass rules!
So far Ive been in touch with Venus, will audition for them when I get there :)

It makes alot more sense financially nowadays.
On a Saturday night those £1 coins really add up in the pubs :)

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
All I can say is avoid Metropolis, worked there 3 nights, made 10 pounds :(, even one of the higher earners struggled to make 200 on a Saturday night. Have heard Venus can be really good, think they take a big cut though. I think the economy is slowly getting better so hopefully you'll have some good luck.
Out of curiosity where did you work in Aus?

That's good to know, I always like Metropolis but I think there are lots of places that just don't get as busy now.

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
I know a few girls who seem to like Metropolis, maybe I'm being to harsh and just had bad luck as it was the first place I ever worked.

I'm sure it's possible, a girl I worked with said she could make 6-800 on a Saturday night at SR (not sure how much I believe her but it is plausible), I used to make 800-1500 a week in Edinburgh.

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Thanks so much for your input girls.
Amarath, I worked at Xotica in Perth for a year and made a lot of money there, its quieter now but when I started it was very easy money. Over east I worked at a dodge club on Kings Cross in Sydney and then at Cheerleaders (now closed) in Surfers Paradise. I worked a few nights at some Toybox club in Cairns but it was shit so I left.
Ok so if I work 5-6nights a week, is there a ball park figure I can expect to earn/aim for per week? I just have no idea what its like money wise in London having not lived there for about 3yrs!

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Hey Girls! I really wanna know about that, too. Just like an estimate of what you can expect to earn. I'm guessing it' lower than in the US, right? When I lived in London (08 and thinkin of moving back) I knew a dancer and she said she made around 300 a night.. Does that sound believable?

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
I live in London but I travel to work, I have friends who work here they say it is very up and down but always really hard work , I stopped working here again about 4 months ago because but now in summer it is really bad. U prob can make £300 but it will not be everyday.

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
I was going to start at the windmill but they screwed up (lost all my paperwork and everything about me for some reason)
They were charging 60pounds house fee which I thought was way steep! In Aus its 1/4 that! But they didnt take out any more commission
Because I never started working there I cant tell you how well the money is but it seemed like a nice enough place.... just the lady who interviewed me was an idiot and screwed me over by losing all my things (I had no money left at that point and couldnt afford rent or food!)

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. 60 pounds is not that bad, if it ends with that. I hate it more when they charge a percentage of your earnings.. I'm guessing the windmill is in London? never heard of it..

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
I worked at the Windmill for half an evening and I'd sincerely recommend anyone to avoid it unless you like making customers drunk or dealing with already drunk customers by getting the waiter to charge the customer for a 'sit-down' as you've been sitting there talking to him...still I think you only get 120 pounds for an hour after the commission they take from you.
Dances are really strict and you have to dance in front on the whole club as there is no separate dancing area.
London seems a mission and a half still but I keep hearning good things about Essex/Norfolk clubs and pubs so maybe that is an option a bit closer to London than Northampton.

I loved that you can charge a sitting fee just for talking to a customer... 120pounds an hour to talk is fantastic!
And there are private dance booths upstairs anddd the VIP area too.
And I also liked that on stage you dont take anything off so people cant just stand around drinking and perving.... to see you naked they have to buy a dance.

Ok, things must have changed slightly.
:OStill 120 pounds an hour for a sit-down is very low considering the house fee is 60 pounds and London is a very expensive city to live. So even if you have three hours of sit-downs each night, after your housefee you are still not making more money than a secretarial temping 9-5 shift (most likely the Windmill still expects you to put in an 8 hour shift as well or?) And unless you live locally or like the night bus (not the safest bet for a lone woman with cash in her purse), you'll have taxi expenses. In all, whilst 120 pounds just for talking might seem great like great money, in London, for a stripper, it is rather bad money.

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Sorry my math 'skills' totally sucked in the last post! Still you should be looking at minimum 300 take home and that means 3 hours of sit-downs each night (which must be not all that easy to get?)

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Alot of the girls in the windmill are selling sex, some will even tell u that, u will have a hard time making money if u dont, also for the sit down fee customers can touch and kiss u ! , alot of the girls do this if u work there u will see, and in the VIP err u dont even want to see what goes on up there!.
Work there at your own risk!

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
DO NOT waste your time at Venus! The club takes 5-10 from a dance, chases you down if you do a floor dance to get their cut, use club dollars for EVERYTHING and take twenty percent off at the end of the night when you cash in. Eighty pound house fee, if I remember correctly. They pretty much take half of your earning.
Metropolis is nice, but I can not take a glass around asking for stage tips. I didn't.

o_O woah really?!? Wow, I guess it was good that they lost all my information! I always tell myself 'everything happens for a reason' and that there must have been some reason why getting a job there fucked up.
I feel slightly better now!

Yeh my friend is working there and said she can barely earn anything because they take at least half of what you make... so she'd be happy if she could even leave with 100pounds a night after they've taken their share.
I was reading the reviews on Metropolis it sounds like one of the better places in London

Re: Returning to the UK/London - best clubs?
Okay girls here's the low down on London so far.
Ive been back a couple weeks and STILL not working!!! I auditioned at Metropolis and they asked me to start the next day but I ended up suffering bad depression for a few days and havent been back. I didnt like the venue but the staff were friendly, I spoke to the house mum, doorman, DJ and one of the girls. I have no idea about their charges for working however and Im thinking of going back there on the weekends.
Venus has closed down for "a refit" I was told on Monday. All the girls from there are now looking for work in other clubs.
I went to The Windmill and they let me fill in an application and took my number but they were unsure because Im 31 and not young "like their other girls". They did say they could maybe give me work on the weekends.
Most of the clubs want you to wear a long dress at least until midnight. I dont do long dresses and I dont do being a carbon copy of all the other girls in the club. One of the reasons I do this job is so I can be an individual, true to myself and not controlled by an employer but it seems in London all the clubs are hell bent at making you a money making puppet for them.
Ive now sent an application to a number of strip PUBS because at least there I can be myself and not have to spend hours hustling. Much more like the pub stripping I was doing in Australia.
So wish me luck!
If I had a car I would be applying for private party agencies but right now, I am so broke I cant even afford food or transport to auditions :/
To be honest I have half a mind to either move out of London or go to another country via a dancer agency as London is pretty much bullshit!
