Menu planners for picky eaters?
Does anyone know of a site where I can get a custom menu for free?
I'm lactose intolerant, can't stand any water dwelling creatures (fish, crab, lobster, frog, etc..), and really just don't know where to start.
Also, most fruit hurts my teeth and gums, and what's available here rots within a day or so, as the only grocery store near (within 25-30 miles) is wal-mart and most of the time the produce is swarming with fruit flies. Ick.
I like healthy things like vegetables and grilled chicken and cereals that aren't full of sugars... but I'd like to expand because eating the same thing everyday is booooring.
So if you know of any sites or can think of or have any meal ideas, that would be great. I'd like to break out of the routine southern diet where everything is either deep fried or injected with butter/cheese/bacon grease etc. I saw chocolate covered bacon for sale in town the other day. Gross.
Re: Menu planners for picky eaters?
You might try some Asian dishes. Stir-fried chicken or tofu and vegies, sushi, seaweed salad.
Re: Menu planners for picky eaters?
The chicken sounds good. Definitely couldn't do tofu (can't bring myself to eat it), and I can't eat things from the water. I worked in a restaurant a few years back and accidentally touched fish bones and shuddered in complete disgust. I dunno wtf my problem is. (well, I do, just dunno how to overcome it)

Scope out www.nutritiondata.com
I really can't sing it's praises enough. If you sign up to the site, you can start your own menu and compare foods, but also make sure that you're diet is well rounded in nutrients, vitamins, and amino acids. I wish they had more info on phytochemicals and such within the site, but I have to supplement that with other sources.
Re: Menu planners for picky eaters?
I'm picky too, and I HATE seafood--tuna, fish sticks, sushi, anything.
I like Asian and Italian foods because there is a lot of pastas and good sauces in there. Stir frys are great at home and you can put anything with some rice and chicken or whatever you want to call it your own.
Hamburger meat, chickens, pastas, eggs, pizza, mac and cheese, frozen foods at the grocery store, lunchables, shit. Go to the mo'fuckin grocery store and look around all the isles like a crazy loonie till something catches your eye. Most Meijer are 24 hours, browse for a day straight if you want!

Ooh I have this problem! I'm lactose intolerant , hate seafood, trying to stay away from white carbs , so only eat whole grain bread/pasta/etc, and can't have spicy...sooo my options are limited to say the least. I usually have whole grain toast with soy cheese (i swear, its good, and melts and everything like normal cheese) for breakfast, i love hummus as a snack, dinner is debatable with sometimes veggie wraps or grilled chicken, but definitely going to subscribe to this thread lol!
