Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Sooo I'm watching "Becoming Jane Austin" and that line gave me a swift kick in the gut, I mean... how true! It's just depressing, and exhausting, and...uuuugggggg.
Has anyone here ever worked in a massage parlour? I think that there is one down the street from me...or it used to be anyway I'm not sure if it's still there. But has anyone here ever actually worked in one? I really don't feel like rubbing guys down and wanking them off all day and I'm pretty sure the pay would be absolute shit... but then again I could be wrong... My city is just so pathetic though I bet you it's probably shit pay... I am also feeling way to lazy to walk over there and see if it still exists. Or I could be wrong and it could be a proper massage parlour now...oh that could be embarassing...

Erm - yes, before I got the good sense to escort. In my experience there is a massive difference between the types of girls you find in massage parlours (at least in the city I lived in then) and escorts. Not trying to say either is 'better' or something but it's a very different way of life. I quite liked it (the social side really, and the fact that it was generally very quick work so mind turns off, lotion on hands, autopilot on) - I worked in 4 altogether. One was an 'erotic massage' place which basically involved me rubbing my tits all over their back and then leaving for them to jerk off. One was more an 'incall' escorts sort of place so guys hired out (nice) rooms with ensuites for 2 or so hours and the girl would provide an escort style service. One was dirty and horrible (no one even washed the sheets) and the girls were basically meant to lay a towel down on the bed and just fuck. (yeah - obviously I walked out of there as soon as I got through the door). The other was a big 'club' style environment which had lots and lots of girls to pick from. It had a big bar and a pole, a massive lounge and a pool downstairs. That was by far the tackiest. I used to take between £300 (at the erotic place) to £500 (tacky bar) per day (after paying a ridiculous % to the owners) and would see up to 10 guys a day. Yeah... dumb ass... yeah... flaming myself... so, yeah...

Im getting ready to walk over there right now. I don't think it's very big, I cant even remember seeing it actually... I don't know if it will be open or what but I'll go sneak by,lol.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
lol
are they legal there? Here they're illegal but different police forces operate differing levels of control over it.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Escorting is legal in Canada... outcalls anyway, I hear about massage parlours getting busted in vancouver all the time so who knows.
Ok so I went there door was locked, so I came back. Guess I'll have to call them to set up and interview... and see if they're even still in business actually...

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
I think I remember reading on this board that 'common bawdy houses' aka brothels are illegal in Canada... I'm not sure if an AMP falls under the title or brothel or not... I don't really know because I don't live there but I think if outcall escorting is legal I would definitely go that route instead.
I've considered Erotic Body Rubs before. I think I'd be good at it. I have some experience with Aveda massage/relaxation techniques, and ummm let's just say every guy I've dated said that I'm the best with my ummm hands lol!! Like they say they've never had a HJ like mine before.
Also... I wouldn't do it out of desperation. I'd definitely make the decision with a clear head.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
I worked at an upscale massage parlor when I was preggerz with my daughter (about 5-6 months pregnant) and I love it. We worked out of a very nice house in an upscale location. The guys were all clean and they came knowing what to expect.. a body rub and a hand job. Our house mom was so paranoid that she installed monitors in each room so she could hear if we were negotiating extras or actually having sex with the custies. I made a good 2k a week and there was one week (around Christmas time) when I made 3k.
I ,never did full service then and I know the other girls didn't either because that wasn't our job and our house mom was just super strict. I know a few FBSM providers in the area and they don't have sex...If they were gonna get paid for sex they'd become escorts. You can make money as an FBSM provider without extras. Alot of girls REALLY just WANT to sell themselves short and blame it on others or the economy.. BULL!
If I have learned anything in this industry is that guys will pay for ANYTHING with a sexy girl even if it's just dinner and THEY are paying for it you will get customers. Wanna bet?
I will say this if anyone is gonna go that route.. don't call it a massage unless you are certified. Call it a sensual touch or a body rub ... please don't say tug.. LOL! The highest I've seen a rub go for was $280 an hour. 300 and you're probably pushing it.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
There is a place here in town that does it, but they are very low priced I think. I was told they only charge about 80 per hour/session whatever. It's located behind a Waffle House... go figure!!
I would like to try it, but in an upscale place like you mentioned. I think the bf would be ok with it... he'd probably just worry about the legality though!!!

Men like to feel like they're being catered to. Offer body rubs and have your incall location at the motel 6 and you'll get laughed at for sure! Always make them come back for "the experience" of just being with you and not JUST the handjob and you'll be PAID! I used to have this one indian guy come in all the time just to talk to me.. UGH! As long as I was getting paid for it I didn't care much.
So offer VIP massages and charge VIP rates. The place that charges 80 a session is most likely a dump! Have you heard about Alpine in Sals? Gurllll... well i'll keep my comments to myself on that one.

;) I kinda figured.. He wanted me to work for him and I told him to kiss my ass. Do you know how much that man makes off of those girls? ha! It's just funny how they play themselves!
p.s just fyi if i were you i'd stay away from there. I've heard of gents getting MORE than what they expected. lol. They weren't complaining either.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Oh yeah I was definitely not planning on working there lol.
Arial, do you know the rates the place near you charges, and what cut the girls get?

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Hahahahaha, oh my god I love you guys. I havn't gotten ahold of them yet. I may give them a call tomorrow or maybe tonight. It's going on for 10pm is that too late to call for a job interview? lol. Like I saidf I don't even know if they are still in business. I'm pretty sure if they are they are scuzzy and low class, but I don't know that for certain i am basically predgudice against everything in My city soooo.
So I have absolutely no idea what they are like, what they charge or what cut the girls get.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
a girl at my club used to be a receptionist there and said she made more money behind the desk than some of the girls there. i think it was 130ph and the girls got 95 out of that?
yeah honestly why bother....
she said most of them were over 40 or addicts. which is not to say everyone universally speaking is, only at that particular club. i wasnt generalising.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Ok so the company no longer exists, lol I got the answering machine of a family I think, lol so ummm I just hung up. So there goes that brilliant plan. Now all that's left is an escort agency that I think only pays out the girls $140/hr. *le sigh*

What happened with Carman fox?

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Oh, I wasn't able to make it down to vancouver that day. Which was ok I can reschedual the interview for whenever I want. But even if I get the job I can't afford to move right now. SO it would be better to be able to make more money where I am in order to save up for moving costs. Though B says that I can also be a visiting escort if I need to. So I can set aside 2 weekends a month say, book myself up for those weekends and just travel. Because Carman Fox always have people booking ahead that should work. I can go down KNOWING I have appointments. But I will need to figure out travel costs and a place to say. I'm so broke right now it's just embarassing.

HJs are considered erotic massage, and don't fall under the bawdy house laws... but there are constant busts based on a) zoning: parlours opened in residential areas are illegal in most jurisdictions, so they operate under 'holistic' massage licenses - busts confirm whether or not happy endings are occuring and b) extras: once girls start offering BJs or FS it becomes a common bawdy house.
Arialandre: Are you comfortable with escorting? If you are, I wouldn't bother yourself with working as an MPA: it's hard work for less money. I've heard okay things about Carman Fox, but you can do the same thing really easily as an indy, if you have access to the internet and a phone that can receive incoming calls (no need for a separate number, google voice does that for you). Creating a quick website and throwing up free advertising is fairly straightforward. There's also PERB for all your West Coast pro-ho needs. If you need any help PM me.
If you're broke there's even less of a point in giving half your money away.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
You make a very good point. If I was Canadian/single I'd be pro-ho'in it up! LOL. But I'm a chicken hehe. Since it's already legal there, she could completely skip out on the AMP route. Or maybe do outcall body rubs as a way to ease into escorting?
I totally forgot about google voice until just now. I'm totally gonna use that. Yay-uh.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Like I said, the MP doesnt even exist anymore. I think it shut down back in '08. Mmm, I wouldn't mind going the agency route at first just to get into the groove of things. No one likes going the agency route but it would be nice knowing that I would get steady work. You guys don't seem to understand just how SMALL my city is.
This just in, as of 2009 the pop of my city is 87,017 Harsh.

I just made a post in the Human Trafficking thread about how ladies shouldn't let escort agencies/pimps exploit them. Get with a high end indie escort you can trust in your area and let her show you the ropes. Agency escorting is kool but lots of exploitation takes place and they really DO NOT care about your well being.. however I understand you not having the start up money to go indy... All I know is if you were here I'd show you the ropes for free. It's easy.. I just can't imagine someone else making money off of my body .. the thought really fucking urks me.

Re: Nothing Kills Spirit Like Poverty/ Has anyone here worked in a massage parlour?
Oh and just fyi ... you can start with at little as $300 if you REALLY wanted to :) Just saying. That's like not even a full day of work on cam :)
Then you could build your site blogger like I did. My site is really HOT btw. Blogger is only $10 a year for hosting and the domain name. ;)
