Dancing vs Domming?
So I recently tried domming. I watched a few light sessions and didn't mind playing along and watching the dudes "release". Even found some of them kinda entertaining to talk to. But there's some stuff I'm just not cut out for, at least not for the money you net. Not talking about sex or the usual extras but some of the other play that is expected. Overall I thought it was interesting and the girls were pretty nice. I would do it again and learn more if I could avoid a couple things that seem to be frequently requested.
I want to try dancing too but am I just gonna find essentially the same shit, different backdrop? Where it's sort of unspoken that you have to do high contact stuff in order to make cash? I'll just flat out say I can't do anything too intimate like HJs/BJs/FS. Not suggesting I'm any better than girls who offer that stuff, it would just fuck me up in the head (and I have a boyfriend). Is it possible to be a cleanish dancer and pull a few hundred a night these days? Or is that just naive wishful thinking?

It's very possible to be clean and make a few hundred. Now depending on where you work a few may be more or less than a 'few' hundred. My club doesn't even have VIP rooms so there's never a chance those high contact things would happen and even in the summer girls can regulardly make a few bills.

You're the Domme. You are in control. You set your boundaries.
A male Dom who has been training me said I 'needed' to offer strap on play in my sessions. I was like UM NO. ::) It all boils down to the fact that you are the one in control and ultimately make your own decisions.
Dancing is very different than Domming. I would suggest trying both and deciding what you like. Domming, while very rewarding, can be mentally straining. So is dancing, just on a different level. I don't think it's the same stuff, different backdrop. Also, contact levels depend on your area for dancing. Domming- subs/slaves should not be touching you inappropriately at all... mine are not allowed to touch above my knee. So, while in a way the session IS about the sub... you ARE in total control... does that make sense?
'Give em an inch and they'll take a mile' applies here.
Each aspect of the adult industry is different and has it's pros and cons. You just have to find what works for you.

I read release and I was like wtf....lol. But yea I totally agree with bluexxxtasy and Harleigh HellKat.
You have to set your boundaries with both dancing and domming. You also have to find the right locations that will work for you. When I danced I set limits and guys had the choice to conform to my rules in order to enjoy a dance or be left without a dance. Although I'm doing domming online the same rules will apply when I do real time sessions. These guys are paying for a service true but your still in control and a majority of them will conform to your rules in order to play whether there in a strip club or dungeon.

Annnnnd this is why I love SW...You all make very good points. I was told I didn't have to do anything I wasn't comfortable with but yeah I wasn't learning from truly experienced people. I'm good at setting boundaries and it just didn't feel right so I may try another dungeon and a club for sure to see what I vibe with better.
I'm sure I'll have more questions during the next phase but it makes perfect sense that clients can take it or leave it. Thanks for the perspective!
