Playing favorites
I HATE that some waitresses (and managers) play favorites with the girls. Infuriates me that there are those of us who would very much like that help with customers.
This week has been hellish. I made $170 today, yesterday- $21, Monday- $60, when I should be clearing 2-300 a day. Goddamn, I miss that money
Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Playing favorites
well...is what the management/waitresses doing actually affecting your money? or are things just slow?
i mean, if they are pointing girls towards money, then, yeah, that sucks. The thing I should point out though is that favorites happen in every job. Not saying it is right, but it happens.
I'm sure eventually they will fall out of favor and deal with what you are dealing with now. So take that as some condolence :)

Re: Playing favorites
Yep, they will have their turn when some new girl (or older girl) becomes their new favorite and she will take their place. And it sucks, believe me. Why don't you try telling them "hey if you help me out, I will help you out. Let them know if they send you in the direction of money and you make a sale, you will tip them or at the very least have that customer buy shots off the waitress. It's a give and take.

Re: Playing favorites
I don't have a problem with getting help because I always tip people who help me out.

Re: Playing favorites
^This. I always tip when a waitress or bouncer leads me to money - so guess what? I always get lead the money.
The shitty/hardest part is getting them to start helping you out in the first place. I'd say try what Ariel said, it couldn't hurt. Or, if you're in a big club where money talks, just give $20 bucks to the main bouncer/doorman right off the bat and ask him to let you know when you get a high roller.

Re: Playing favorites
The thing is, I did have help once, and the waitress was rewarded, by me. The DJ also made some coin off of me
I always make it a point to remind the waitresses and managers to point me where the money is and I will help them out.
It's just two waitresses that have been there longer than I have (over a year), and I know they have their favorite girls. It's just frustrating

Re: Playing favorites
^hmmm ya probably not much more you can do then. I have a few people at work that always help me out and Id probably be annoyed if they started helping someone newer than me. Maybe try helping them with selling more expensive drinks. Do you interact with them at all? I find the reason staff help me is because I treat them like friends not just ghosts in the background like some girls do.
