The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
Hello Ladies, I keep getting PMs asking me the same question OVER and Over again about screening. I received a newsletter from Erin of Myhoneysuckle.com today and I would like to share it with you. Do you have to screen? Yes! Do you have to do anything I say? NO. Wanna get busted? Then don't screen this article is not for you.
This is how you screen. You can use it or not (Smart Ladies screen)
You can add to it OR not but this will save your ass 9/10 while working as an escort.
Here are the five pieces of information you should be
getting, at minimum, from every potential client:
1. Real name
You want a full legal name and preferably with at least
their middle initial. You can check this against their ID at
the beginning of your session.
2. Phone number
At least one phone number, but preferably a cell and then
either home or work phone.
3. Email address
Preferably you want their primary email address.
4. Where they got your information from
How did they find you, e.g., Eros Guide, P411, your
website?
5. Two references
You'll want to know when and where these visits took place.
You might also ask them to give you some unique details
about their appearance, and some innocent but memorable
details about their sessions. For instance, "it was pouring
rain that day". These kinds of details can help when you
are checking the references. More on this later.
Ok, you've got all this information. Great. Now what?
Now it's time to put on your detective hat.
You want to search for clues to verify your potential client
is, in fact, who they are claiming to be.
1. Google.com ()
First step, head on over to Google. Take their real name,
email address, and phone number, go to Google and run
searches on this information.
Look for older forum posts, business websites, comments in
blogs, etc.
2. White Pages ()
Next, check out the online White Pages. Type in their real
first and last name and see what comes up.
Also do a "Reverse Phone" search there, with their phone
number.
3. Amazon People Search
()
Another site where people frequently have their information
stored is Amazon.com. Go over to Amazon People Search and
try a search on their name and email address.
You can learn a LOT about a new potential client by what
they have on their Amazon wishlist!
4. LinkedIn search ()
A lot of business professionals use Linkedin to connect with
colleagues.
Finding a potential client on Linkedin with contact
information that matches what they submitted to you can be a
good sign that your client is who they say they are.
5. Facebook ()
Practically everyone is one Facebook these days! Try a
Facebook search for their email address first. Then try
their full name.
6. eBay Find a Member Search
()
eBay is another great place to find information about your
potential client. Head over to eBay Find a Member Search and
search for their email address (you may need to be a member
of eBay to do this).
If you find your client on eBay, you can see how long they
have been a member for and where they are located.
Click on their User ID to check out the kinds of things they
like to bid on. Anything creepy?
7. Follow up with references
Last but certainly not least, it's important that you get
in touch with the references your potential new client
provided.
You can either call or write these references.
Try to jog their memory with the extra details you
requested.
It's one thing to write "Hey Sally, do you remember John
Smith from Atlanta?"
And quite another to write, "Sally, do you remember John
Smith from Atlanta that you met in April of last year at the
Sundial restaurant? He said it was pouring rain when you
left. I looked up information on him and he has a bunch of
computer books on his Amazon wish-list so I am thinking he
is an engineer of some sort. Thanks Sally."
Once you hear back from both of the references you should
have uncovered enough information about your potential
client to make an informed decision on whether or not it is
safe to see them.
An indication that you MAY be dealing with a potential
scammer:
* There is absolutely nothing about their name or email
address online, anywhere.
* Everything you find was just created recently in the last
few weeks.
PLEASE NOTE: Just because you cannot find anything about
your new client online, doesn't mean he is a scammer or LE.
But it can be a red flag to screen more carefully. In this
case you will really want to double check his references.
Also, just because you DO find information online about your
new client does not mean your client is NOT a scammer or LE.
Really, the bottom line when it comes to screening is, do
your homework and always trust your instincts.
If you get a weird feeling about a new potential client,
even if all his information checks out, it's better to be
safe and just skip this one.
These are Erin's words NOT mine. I simply just copied and pasted the newsletter
I received today. This is EXACTLY how I screen though I ask for 2 other details that she did not include.
Erin now has a screening tool that you can use when screening. The link is:
The way it works is, you simply enter the contact
information for the clients that you want to screen and
click "Search".
This tool will automatically search:
* Google
* White Pages
* Amazon People Search
* LinkedIn
And it will show you the results right on that page.
I am posting this to help those seeking info how to screen. I simply love Erin. If not for her and Minnie I would have never got into this business.
Be safe everyone!

Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
National Blacklist is a good website too. It has helped me a couple times. One guy who contacted me was on there-it said he was an ok guy but had really bad breath and body odor, so I decided not to see him.
-
Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
That screening tool is certainly nice! It cuts down on having to enter the info multiple times... which is annoying.
-
Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
I just tested out Erin's screening tool on myself.
Holy shit! That was thorough! It kicked back stuff I wrote in College, my Linkedin profile, Amazon wishlist etc. The only thing it didn't return was my cell phone number because it's unlisted, but it did show that it was registered in my town.
Definitely bookmark that and make use of it.

Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
Malaya how can you ask for all this info without making them feel uncomfortable? esp if you're new and have no reviews, would they be willing to easily give all that contact info?
thanks! :)

The men (Hobbyists) Know that you NEED this info in order to feel safe. My advice would be to network with other escorts, post on forums (especially TER and BD) to get your name out there. DO mention that you are NEW to the scene (I chose not to mention that I was new even though I was). You will get guys that will TOFTT ( take one for the team) and review you. When you get that first review you will be somewhat trusted.. more and more guys will want to see you (as long as you have good reviews)
Please remember just like we screen the hobbyist they screen us to make sure we are legit. Just having a website won't cut it .. You'd have to be active in the community.

Wait... why is it that Preferred411 & such aren't listed? I just realized... there is a lot missing too. Or at least other ways of checking within the industry.

Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
^^^ Maybe, but you would think this would tell girls to check those sites. You can't presume girls automatically know about all the screening sites.

Because Preferred411 is more a listing tool than a screening tool and those are VERY optional sites. Preferred411, Datecheck and Roomservice2000 are not required while screening BUT they do help as far as references are concerned and that is all. You do not need to be a member of any of these sites to screen successfully. I know escorts on Datecheck that wouldn't dare use p411 . Personally, I wouldn't dare use Roomservice2000. This isn't an article about how to get into escorting it's about how to screen. Fact of the matter is not everyone use screening services. VERY few men actually take the time to sign up on those sites. I rely more on employment info and references than anything. Erin's article is dead on.

Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
Maybe its just me, but while I think verifying information is good... I really like references.
Even with the private striptease I've already turned down customers based on there references. Granted, I don't provide the same services as an escort, but those references have told me:
- Which guys threaten to leave bad reviews if a provider doesn't do certain things... even if she doesn't advertise as doing them
- Is generally overly rough or pressures girls for more
- Makes a habit of being a no-show or trying to cheat the girl for money
I've screened all three of those types out... one of which was a local radio dj who thought he was a hot shot. I knew exactly who he was but if I hadn't checked the reference services I wouldn't have known HOW he was.
Just verifying who they are isn't going to tell you how they are. I think most girls do take on some new clients, but not all of them are new & if you can screen clients like the above out you are probably better off.

References IS good but in the industry I'm in it is just another screening method and I will tell you why. First of all, Some guys provide FAKE references. Verifying employment is more solid than checking references in the escort world. I am sure that escort screening is a lot more strict than screening for a private party being that...1.) We spend multiple hours with these men .. sometimes even days. 2.) we sleep with them.
When I screen I am more concerned with (in order) 1.) His approach Well spoken? funny? weird?
2.) What he does for a living? 3.) His activity on the review boards (again,Is he well spoken?, nice/tasteful when he reviews others? 4.) THE REFERENCES.
We know NOT to rely on references in this business. It is NO secret that providers WILL lie and say they did not meet the guy or say that they had a bad experience with him. Trust me it has happened to me. Some providers really do believe that these men are THEIR MAN! LOTS of providers won't even respond to a reference request. This is a known thing in this business.
Yes I am a reference friendly provider.

This is why we have dangerzone411 and providerbuzz. P411 won't tell which guys did what. I'm not saying references are bad I'm saying it is not good to rely on them. I know girls that have gotten busted relying on references. I use a combination of screening methods when it comes to whom I choose to spend time with. This is why I said Erin did a damn good job on her article.

That's really sad to hear... I've never heard or encountered that.

I'm actually more picky about seeing guys privately than for parties, I would venture to say just as picky as any escort. Privately I don't want any client trying to pressure me for what I don't provide... which does happen. It's very easy to have a guy get rough with you or try to force you to to things if he thinks you are just a "c**** tease"... & forgets that he's paid you to tease him. On the flip side, I do tend to have security with me unless I really trust a guy - but generally not in the same room. Like in a hotel situation the security might be out roaming the hotel.
With parties the guys don't really do that probably because all their buddies are there... & they know how pathetic it would make them look to be begging for any sort of sexual favours.

Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
I'm not sure how to thank someone on here, because I certainly would thank you for this post. While date-check and p411 can be helpful, it just makes sure the guy is who they say they are and is not a cop. Doesn't mean they are a good person-I have read profiles of guys on date-check that have been blacklisted for being abusive, a pain in the ass, etc. Personally hearing from another escort that a client was well-behaved and verifying their employment info is more comforting for me-no guy wants to think you may call or show up at his work if he did not behave like a gentleman. LOL

Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
I've also declined to see guys for personal reasons such as I've read they have bad body odor, or were annoying and wanted to stay longer at the lady's incall without paying extra, etc. (Of course I didn't tell them this, I just said I was unavailable that day. LOL) Datecheck and p411 don't really check for that sort of thing.

Amen, and I am reference friendly too, as long as I have seen the guy recently and had a good experience with him! I never understood why some escorts get jealous and don't want the client to see anyone else. It's ridiculous! It is a business, it's not their boyfriend or husband, most of the men I see are married! I think the nice thing to do is to help each other out and give honest answers about how clients behave.

Honestly since being indy I have never came across a guy with bad b.o.. and I hope that never happens.. UGH! I DID have a young guy that was pretty much trying to take advantage of my time and I tricked him into leaving (making my phone ring/telling him I had to go) This is where references come in handy LOL!
-
Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
I know its not always accurate but I searched myself and didn't find ANYTHING. Ok well not true, the phone number came up with the city I live in but no myspace, facebook etc. I am assuming most of you girls pay for the service of reverse look up right? Good post though!
-
Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
No.
We use google.. and other search engines. Why pay for reverse phone lookup? I do not use it to screen and never will because it is unnecessary. Screening is pretty much info you find online/references and instincts.. It has never failed me. *knocks on wood*
Oh and I've ran past client info using Erin's screening tool and it was very accurate and on point. However, I will still run all my clients on google/yahoo to make sure It doesn't miss anything.
-
Re: The last screening post I will make. (escorting)
oh nm I understand it now lol total "duh" move. I entered my cell phone instead of my home phone which is what you will ask for the clients so yeah thats why I though you had to pay for the service cause my cell had no hits! lol
