I got a warning from Streamate
So, this is weird. I received the following email this morning:
This message is to let you know of a problem on your performer account.
We are contacting you with a warning as a result of your actions.
Suggesting Cammodels.com to Stremate users.
This is NOT acceptable and is clearly explained in the rules of the site,
which the performer agrees to every time they log in. Please consider this
a warning. Should we see this type of activity happen again, the account
will be closed permanently.
I emailed them back and politely asked when and how I had done this. I cannot think of when I would have suggested cammodels to streamate users other than on twitter or my blog, which is what I thought the cammodels site was for - promotion. I've certainly never been working ON streamate and mentioned cammodels. Never.
I'm really scared, since I'm getting probably 90% of my income from this site, and honestly I love working with them.
What I AM guilty of is asking customers for their emails (real emails, not sm) to sell panties, etc. I'm definitely done doing that, and I just wanted to let you ladies know that they're keeping a close eye on (certain) things.

Re: I got a warning from Streamate
asking for customer's emails do you do that in private or in free chat?
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
That's weird... isn't cammodels affiliated with SM?
I also got a warning about a month ago for mentioning Paypal. Turns out it was from a chat with a customer where they asked me if they could pay me for a show using Paypal, I replied and said that paypal doesn't accept adult transactions.
So I never actually endorsed using it, I literally got in trouble for just typing the word PAYPAL.
I am definitely more paranoid now. Whenever customers ask me about emails, making videos, etc. I don't respond because I don't want to jeopardize my account.

Smart! That is the best thing you can do to safeguard your income. Just play by the rules. Any gents that ask about panties, or contact info etc. I usually tell them to google me. Point them in the direction of places like my pornprofile.com. If they want it that bad they WILL find you! As much as I hate to admit it, but when it comes to good $ like SM, you can't afford not to play by the rules.

amazing. You should known better than to do such. A lot of sites frown on this and this is nothing new. You say this is 90% of your income.. well keep doing this and they'll terminate you resulting in your being broke. You're on this site to cam nothing else.. This is just common sense. It is in the terms and conditions that this is not allowed. Oh and you can get away with this on 2 sites I know of on streamate? You're playing with fire.
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
that's weird babe. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to mention the site. lol. your profile is on cammodels so you would think they would want you to mention it (not on streamate but on Twitter, etc.)
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
Hi Raven,
I don't know why, either, but at least it was just a warning, and a lesson learned!
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
Hey,
You aren't allowed to mention Cammodels.com in chat or streamate emails because we get an extra % if someone purchases a show through your cammodels url. You can bring in new customers with your cammodels url through your blog, twitter, fb, message boards etc. But you can't direct existing streamate customers to use your Cam Models url instead to buy shows.
I know it seems confusing because it is the same site, but they explain it in the rules when you first log in under the Cam Models section.
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
@Bella - Yeah, I know, and I never did that (mentioned cammodels in sm email or in chat), that's why I found the warning strange. :) I'm waiting to hear what they say.
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
Another reason why I wouldn't want 90% of my income coming from just one site. Atleast have a back up incase something should happen. :)

It was probably the monitor taking something out of context. I know when I worked as the Talent Manager at spread4u, the chat monitors weren't always knowledgeable about the site. They'll randomly search for certain words in chat like 'yahoo' etc. Steamate probably randomly searches for cam models. So it could have been a guy asking you 'when are you going to be on cammodels.com next?' and it would have come up in the search.
I think Aaliyah Love got suspended for mentioning her Cam Models url once in her member show for her site members using the streamate external site plugin. So that was obviously taken out of context. I remember how furious she was on twitter, I think that chat monitor got into trouble;)
Re: I got a warning from Streamate
you cannot DO THAT BCAUSE:
you where assigned a cammodel page for YOUR customers.
Streamate is for THEIR customers brought in by affiliates. SO honestly, you would be stealing traffic.
Regardless if it is the same site or not, they specifically gives us FAIR instructions on how to make % commission.
This is a buisness.
It REALLY IS disrespectful to steal customers.... and you will see this if you own website.
I dont care if you feel you should get 100%.
if you want 100% make your own site. then have 100% on your own hard-to-find traffic. These sites PAY affiliates (me) to send traffic to these sites..... I would ban you to, if you steal a customer I payed for!
see when you guys get into a business, its not all about you...burning bridges with the same people that keep you relevant / paid give you a WEBPAGE, CHATROOM, & PAYMENT PROCCESSOR is a sure way to get in trouble.
at first I didn't see a prob with stealing... until some of my projects required for me to be the site owner vs the camgirl.

Thanks Bella!
Re: I got a warning from Streamate

However, Even with your own site you will NEVER get 100% even if you paid ccbill $700 you will not be getting 100% you will ALWAYS have to pay a payment processor.. want 100% then create your own payment processor :)

Just email streamate support and tell them that you want to do external site shows for your members in your members area. It can be used by any model with a password protected members area.
They give you an iframe link and you just cut and paste it onto the page you want in your members area. When you do shows you just log on as normal to your performer account, but you'll be able to see who your members are because their text is green when they chat to you from inside your members area.
Also you will see a box that says external site show in your chat window. If you tick that box then you go into premium chat which is free for members of your site to watch, but streamate members have to pay to watch.
I'm still trying to figure out how to convert their files so I can save the shows though. It saves it as an f4v file and I'm not sure what that is. But I haven't had time to research. I'm sure there is a converter out there somewhere to turn f4v files into wmv or flv
