while being Vague.
i didnt like the site from the jump....i just wanted my pay same day. but fuck it i cant be scared my money is gonna lock up every five minutes....hell naw.
I've been using Epassporte for a year now and this is the only problem I've ever had with them, before this it was always reliable and convenient. I know others who have used them for several years and said the same thing. The decision to deactivate the cards must have come from Visa because ultimately this will lead to the end of Epassporte unless another card supplier can be found quickly.
I'm sure Michael has received thousands of emails like yours, so I think it's lucky you got a reply since there hasn't been any progress since the press release.
I don't use epass, but from what it sounds like, it seems as if this mess was created by a decision handed down from the suits at Visa International. Hmm, wonder why?
I feel bad for everybody who's money is tied up. How ironic, it being Labor Day Weekend...that's fucked up!
I'm surprised you even got a response-must be automated because he probably receives hundreds of questions per hr.
I do not understand why they did not have a plan set in place just in case something like this where to happen ( Back-Up Plan) or if they had any idea of this happening they could have sent out mass automated emails to all their account holders or something increasing limits and giving the heads up....I do not know..maybe that will only go to people who run a business and actually care about other people. But what do I know. Even though I didn't get any money stuck in my accounts I still could've have easily since I do use them. Plus this really puts people in a tight situation.......smh
Thanks for posting that.
How unprofessional of Visa. They should have given at least 30 days notice instead of just pulling the plug like that.
I doubt Epass will recover from this. Ugh Epassgate.
I agree with HusletDiva - it's somewhat strange that there was no contingency plan in place.
Also I found it quite odd that a couple of weeks ago I signed into my epassporte account to be greeted with 'A message from Christopher Mallick' asking to check out and support his new movie .
His new movie portraying him as a bit of a gangster , involved with money laundering and off shore accounts - Nice one Mallick .
Speculations over the fact this could be the reason Visa have withdrawn don't surprise me .
Troublegum - we don't actually know that they were not given notice . Most probably one of 2 things happened - Epassporte were given notice, and failed to notify it's users; or VISA believe epassporte to be involved in illegal term breaching activities, in which case we are XXX screwed , and in this case they are rightfully not obliged to provide epassporte with notice.
SUCKS
I have a very strong feeling that NO ONE is getting their money back. I know I know.. so much for being positive.
That really is unfortunate if that is true. I still do not understand how you can take hard earned money like that. It is too many people who are working legit "adult" jobs from home and use epassporte services so they will just screw them with no remorse. It is crazy, really. I feel sorry for anyone who had a substantial amount of money in their accounts. Hopefully everyone had some back up plans of their own. This is why I just can not rely on one thing to make money or one way to get my money....Sorry everyone who is going through all this BS.
WoW, could they really do that? Keep everybody's money? Just the thought of that makes me sick for all of you girls. I don't have a dime tied up there, and I'm so worried for everybody. So sorry for all of the stress and worry so many of you are dealing with. This is just terrible. :(
Yup they can. They can do whatever they want of course. I had almost 5k in there weeks ago and they sent me a message saying that they would soon be asking for more ID so I quickly transferred the funds to my bank. Right now all I have in there is $250 if they keep it oh well life goes on. I cannot beat myself up over measly $250. I hope everyone gets their money though.
An "update" about the situation:
http://business.avn.com/articles/ePa...ek-410832.html
A lot of us on ImLive signed up for Payoneer, and upon signup were told it would take up to 10 business days to receive the debit MasterCard in the mail.
my epassporte took 6 months.... all in the whole they kept tryna haggle $40 for a "new one" and $50 to get it "sent fast", until it told them they better stop fcking with me before I report they ass to the news.....
A bit off topic but now is a good time to start saving an "Emergency Fund" if you don`t have one already.
^^^Exactly.
Maybe someone who is known and respected on here could start a thread about how to plan for stuff like this happening in the future?
