How long after BA can I go back to work?
Just wanted to see how long you ladies with BA waited to return to work? I noticed that many of you have recently gotten your boobs done and wanted some input. I am 2 weeks out, and my incisions aren't fully healed. My righty is almost healed, but the left is oozing some clear liquid, which lessens daily. The boobs still look a little squarish and have not dropped yet. I'm itching to get back to work and make money but at the same time don't want to risk an infection.
If it helps, this is my first BA and I went under the muscle, 400cc left and 450cc right. This takes me from a 34A to a large C, small D.
Also, I would like to learn some pole work, but am nervous to do so after having my boobs done. How long should I wait?
Thanks for the input in advance! ;D
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
Wait like 6 months for heavy pole work.
I would not go back to work until your scars are healed. I think I went back a little too soon. After a shift my incisions were red and irritated. I think my scars would have been less visible now if I had not been so antsy to get back to work.
Take care of your investments! :)
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
I went back at 6.5 weeks but only did 1 shift and only done 1-2 shifts/week since. Also did short shifts and have done absolutely no pole work. My dance moves right now include showing off my tatas and thats about it haha. My incisions were fully healed. I had dropped but not fully fluffed. (although now week 9 pretty damn fluffy! yay!) I also went from A - C/D - 350cc. I think work actually helped soften mine a little, but I agree with Zabrina... I can feel the internal scarring by the end of my shift. It starts to get a bit uncomfortable I assume from all the weight of going braless most of the shift. Some docs said I would be able to go back in 4 weeks but it was 6 when my doc said go for it. Im feeling really weak since Im a gym junkie and havent worked out in almost 10 weeks now. So theres no way in hell Id even think about the pole until I get my fitness back which is probably going to take at least 3 months.
Congratulations btw!
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
I wouldn't entertain the thought of going anywhere near a club environment until at least 2 weeks have passed beyond the point where both incisions are FULLY healed !!! And that means at least two weeks beyond the point where all traces of 'discharge' have stopped. Even if your club has a total no breast touching policy, there is a veritable jungle of germs floating around in every club.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
I got my boobs done before I started dancing, but I wouldn't have gone back until a month and a half after my surgery at least. It took mine a while to drop and not look so funny.
I've heard no serious pole work for at least 6 months, but I'd probably say 6 months to a year.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
damn.. i guess my bf is right. i was planning on going back at 4 weeks and he said that would be too soon. i also thought week 3 was ok to get back to the gym.. im feeling so soft :(
when did you ladies get back to working out? and thanks for all the advice everyone!! it really helped to get answers from other dancers. i guess im freezing my gym membership for the next month then ..
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
I'm still not ready to go to the gym. The thought of my boobs bouncing scares me. I'm thinking next week I might ease back into it (10 weeks) but I'm definitely wearing a very tight sports bra. My doc cleared me to do everything as normal at 6 weeks, but I've taken it pretty easy just to make sure everything is ok. I'm still seeing changes daily so I want to take things slowly.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
I think it depends on what contact level your club has (although even when it's not allowed you could get a grabby guy) because customers forcefully grabbing them is the only thing you should really worry about and therefore let the incisions heal well. As far as stage goes, you can just dance without doing tricks so you should be fine once the scars are "closed" (?). But I think I am a bad example, I exercised pretty soon after and did a lot of things you're not supposed to.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
A bit off topic but:
Wouldn't it be ok to do inclined walking on treadmill to help with cardio to burn off calories and fat? and instead of weights, do lunges to keep muscle from burning while waiting to heal? What about yoga, wouldn't that be low impact to keep toned while you heal?
I ask this because these activities aren't that much different than the level of activity you use at the club. I had my surgery today and had my incisions under breast crease. I was thinking of buying a half bustier that would stop at my breast crease where I can hide my scars and help them heal with clear bandages lathered in vitamin E and C to help produce collagen and minimize the look of the scar. Has anyone tried this?
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
^sounds like a good idea. My club is full nude on stage so I didnt have that option but I just used silicone gel and then cover with makeup. I made sure that was ok with my PS before doing it though.
As for workout... ya a modified workout is ok but even that depending on your surgeons instructions will prob be at least after week 3-4 because raising your heart rate is also an issue.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
Take your time. If you have discharge, don't go back. Wait a month. You can actually create scar tissue by working out too early and might end up with non dropped boobs.
You can make more money when your boobs settle down and showcasing them then. If you go back too quick custies will coment on not a good job. I've seen that happen before.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
For me going back to work after one week was sufficient but pole work I had to wait 1.5 months maybe a little less. The basic spinning moves are ok after 3 weeks but anything upside or more advanced 1.5 mo.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
it totally depends on the technique used and how your body is healing.
looks-wise, you could go in the next day. there's weird guys out there who'd gladly get their dances from a girl who had clearly just gotten implants. unless you want people believing you've got real ones (say, if you'd gone from A to B cup), 95% of custies don't care about scars. and you'll probably be able to get away with being lazy onstage and allowing less contact during dances just because you have recent implants. most guys are just fascinated by the big fake boobies in front of them.
just worry about potential infection and allowing them to heal properly. you don't want to be one of those girls who ended up with messed up boobs because she wasn't willing to rest long enough.
i haven't had mine done. i just pay attention. but when i do get them done, i'm going inframammary incision and over the muscle with a large enough implant that i won't need a lift. that's what i want anyways, but it's also the best bet for the fastest recovery.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
^Ya with overs less down time but I think she is going for unders and therefore a risk of frankenboobs aka spongeboob squareboobs for several weeks-months. People with little breast tissue to begin with would really struggle to go back early. I couldnt even comfortably lift my arms above my head until about 8 weeks without feeling my skin stretching massively.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
lmao at spongebob squareboobs!!
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
^Ya I was lucky I didnt have them because I dual plane but there was no much room for these babies in my tiny chest. 2 nurses and my PS told me on separate occasions that they almost thought the left side was not going to be able to be closed! So they definitely had a torpedo look for about 5 - 6 weeks. Only now at almost 10 weeks do they really look, move and feel like natural boobies. They are getting bigger too cause I just went back on the pill... hehe
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
you're lucky! im starting to wish mine were a little bigger

Having been through this something like 7 times, I highly recommend not trying to do ANYTHING during the first week that will work up a sweat. While the odds of an infection are probably low, it really doesn't help your as yet unhealed incisions to be exposed to the resulting bacteria and acidity at the bottom of a sweat soaked workout bra. Also, ANYTHING that causes bouncing or that requires reaching / arm stretching puts additional stress on your incisions. Yeah it sucks to just be sitting around watching your muscle turn to fat ... but that situation can be dealt with a couple of weeks farther down the road in your healing process.
Re: How long after BA can I go back to work?
Plus it does take a while to get used to balancing and walking. Heels stretch your back. upward and it hurts the first time putting them on. I got pretty big implants and am small. Took forever to heal and for my muscle and skin to properly stretch. After about 1 year did I start to really run and about 1.5 to get really back into pilates where I was before implants. I just wanted to make sure things dropped properly and healed fully. I know it sounds a bit extreme and long, but I went with my body and mind. It took my mind a while to accept the fact that I had implants and to accept them as part of me. Like they are really mine and naturally me. I was one of the lucky ones that got PTSD and had to go on antidepressants after surgery.
Right now, your body is like well I am not sick, I want to do stuff. But just relax now and enjoy being lazy. Refresh your soul. You have reinvented yourself and take in that. It's okay if you loose muscle because you will loose weight also. Let muscles come back with time. This recovery period is a great time to get in tune with yourself.
Ok I will shut up with the spiritual stuff now.... oh BTW, welcome to the fake boobie club :D
