I've worked with alot of girls who came from clubs, or work clubs when the private circuit isn't busy. The cumulative advice is this:
Stay away from: Hustler, Crazy Horse & Kittens. Unless you want to be treated like crap, touched up and other unwelcome shit.
Recommend: Dallas Dancers King St - I know the house manager, looks after girls
Explicit Northcote - although recent reports are its gotten seriously quiet there
Alley Cat Geelong - majorly cleaned up since new house manager took over and doing well
Not so sure about Bar 20 - I'm told they been rostering on waay too many girls on Saturday night making it tough for a good earn
I'm interested to hear from girls working at the other King St clubs, some of my girls like to do club work during the week when there are no private bookings. Would be good to give them a heads up.
i m coming to melbourne next tuesday, i ll spend the whole night going for interviews. start working on wednesday.
i have a few club in mind: speatmint rhino, bar20, men s gallery.
i worked in kitten last year for a week. it s a shithole, but at least i know there is money to be made. it s would be my last choice.
well, i ll update let you girls know how i am goin :)
seems a lot of clubs are rostering a huge amount of girls on weekend nights and not getting massive crowds. goldfingers seems to be alright though quieter on fridays, centrefold has gone dead quiet, explicit has always been quiet due to location.
honestly, the only reason i knew about Explicit is cos a girl i used to be friends with wasn't welcome at most of the king street clubs so we did an internet search of the clubs in melb. the location of the club is weird...it took us about 30mins to find it..very hidden and small entrance on a dark part of the street..a lot of guys go to nightclubs or pubs in the city then to strip clubs so it is hard if they go to explicit, then they're stuck in the 'burbs unless they get a taxi to the city..it's just a bad location.
Personally I don't mind if the clubs go quiet, it encourages more girls to do privates and that means I can fill bookings ;D
hello. girls. i m in mel now, just finished my first shift in central fold. it was ok, dancers are super nice. i spend most night watch other girls, see how they work.
since it has the same owner with man s gallery, i do not think they will be happy if i work in both. so i won't go there. i went to bar20 last night, just walk in and asked. they let me fill a form and said they gonna call me back, but they never did. guess i m not "good enough''..lol
i realize i can not judge a club by working there just one night. so far i am happy, i guess i ll keep working there.
heard lots of girls talk about spearmint rhino. it sounds like a gold mine. but if it s that good, why would those girls work in central fold. does anyone know what s the deal there?
heard it's harder to get the money out of guys at spearmint..dances cost more there. i was at centrefold for 3 and a half yrs...left just over 2 months, at goldfingers now. management are fine if you work at centrefold and mens, as i did a few shifts at mens as well.
Not sure whether or not I should make a new thread on this. I've never danced before and wondering about tips on starting out in Melbourne.
Anything I should know about auditioning at specific Melbourne clubs? I've read a lot of the general newbie threads, but most are US-centric and I want Melbourne club-centric posts. Which clubs happily give training to n00bs and what exactly does that entail? I don't have a formal dance background, but obviously I can dance passably enough to think I have potential.
Some of you say certain clubs charge more for dances, but my instinct tells me to start at a place that doesn't necessarily charge the most, but where a beginner will probably get more dances. And have punters not too fussed if we're not yet flawless goddesses who don't put a foot wrong... I must add that I'm not desperate for money. I'm attracted to the idea of dancing (and getting paid for flirting shamelessly) so I want a good experience as much as a decent income.
Anything I should know about pay and tax? How often do most clubs pay, are most of the good clubs legal or is cash common?
As a customer, I've only been to Bar20 (where my male friend and I were hustled by someone who was so drunk she spilled a drink on her co-worker... deliberate hustle tactic?) and Spearmint Rhino on a quiet Wednesday free entry night, where I think half the girls were newbies. Well most of them were doing basic floor work and giggling shyly on stage.
I was with my boyfriend and was mostly ignored, even on the rail... Would've thought we'd be walking $$ signs as we were a couple obviously interesetd in the girls and not just drunk after clubbing. But we couldn't be arsed approaching girls asking to give them money. Maybe they were shy with working the floor. Okay, that's getting off the track.
Any tips appreciated. PM me if you prefer not to post publicly.
umm well firstly, most female customers who come in are bitchy so most dancers ignore them..inc me, only met about 2 or 3 friendly female customers the whole time i've been dancing and they've come up to me.
okay well auditioning is really easy..you call the club, if they're looking for girls they'll ask you to go in, will get you to fill out questions then tell you the basic rules, i've always been asked to undress down to my lingerie and sometimes they'll take a pic then they've always asked me when i want to start..
i've worked with many girl who have been in the industry long and they have no idea what they're doing on stage so don't worry about that..it's very rare to find a girl who looks flawless in a club..most have puppyfat or something weird about them.
hmm not sure where the best to start is...i'd say somewhere along king st as they're the busiest clubs..nowhere really has a reputation for new girls earning the most..new girls always make more cos they're a fresh face but that dies down after about a month.
Thank you so much, Paris! Knowing this will help calm my nerves.
As I said, it's not so much huge earning potential as a positive environment and some degree of guidance for new girls that I'm looking for.
melb_oz_n00b - I would recommend Dallas Dancers. The house manager there will work with newbies. Last time I spoke with her they had a choreographer working with the girls. Its not the biggest club, but I know they look after their girls.
For a beginner, I recommend Centrefold. Really professional management and super friendly dancers.
^ That's a shame. I like it when dancers come up to me, but I usually have to approach them.
Although, the ones that have come up to me aren't my type.
A few of my friends and I will be heading to Bar 20 soon. I've never been there before. I usually go to Spearmint Rhino. Can anyone describe the difference in terms of dances and atmosphere/audience?
Compared to other King Street clubs Spearmint Rhino has a centre stage with customers sitting down facing the stage.
I haven't danced anywhere else but some girls that work a few shifts say that whilst the dance prices are higher you have to talk more to customers, be more entertaining etc. Unless it is a packed weekend night, the "wanna dance" hustle doesn't work.
As for dance rules have nothing to compare with in Melbourne, we don't have to do air dances but excessive grinding is a big no-no and the customers can't touch the good bits obviously!
Would be interesting to hear about the dance rules in other King Street clubs...
I moved back to centrefold, too many dirty dances happening at goldies on the stages as well as the private rooms.
There are going to be some big changes at Explcit in the next couple of months, will keep you gals posted as new info comes in.
They actually don't have a brothel license. You can not serve alcohol anywhere with a brothel license in Victoria. The touching is above the waist and is legal because the legislative definition of 'genitals' in this state does not include anything above that area.
I'm about to go to kittens tonight to apply, they seem to have a very lax way of hiring, I've spoken to the dance manager a few times and he was always just like 'yeah come in at 7.30' or whatever, but i've always ended up not going in. i worked at c-fold maybe seven or 8 months ago (hi paris, remember me? daisy.) but eventually it started driving me insane (too many dead weeknights, fuck that shit) so i quit and have been bartending since. but now i'm too poor.
i'll let you guys know how kittens goes. a few of my friends have/do work there. the touching thing is something i'm a little unsure about, but we'll see how it is, eh?
apparently the dressing rooms are fucking horrible though. tiny with 40+ dancers in there on a weekend night.
Hey, yes i remember :) hope you're well :)
i actually started out at kittens but that was 4 years ago, i have stopped dancing now because my man couldn't handle it, centrefold started picking up the last few weeks before i left (i went back to centrefold after goldfingers due to there being better customers and more money at centrefold) but now i am in the poor wagon too!
yeaaaah my new boyfriend's not overly happy about me starting back up, but hey, rent is rent.
hope you're doing well too. i bumped into a girl from c-fold like a week ago, she said the same about it getting a little better, but i don't think they'd have me back as i left owing three no-show fees. oops!
