They used to be a lot more fun when I was younger.
I'd rather go up to a cemetery for the night than pay for haunted house tickets.
Cool thing you got the tickets for free though!
You'll have to let us know how it went (if you end up going)
Definitely fun! :-) I think the best things in life are sometimes the most simple. We just went up to this farm this weekend, got some squashes, gourds, and stuffed a scarecrow. They didn't have a haunted house at this one, but I love seeing what they come up with (especially if they get crazy with the visuals).
I'm a total nut for halloween - so of course I love them. Halloween was probably the holiday that my parents decorated for the most, & we have a lot of traditions around it. For some reason I love the haunted houses... even though I scare easy. I love waiting in the lines bundled up with friends/family & drinking hot cider or cocoa. I love all the weird decorations in some of the haunted houses. I tend to like the haunted houses that are more ghost/scary house like compared to haunted houses that revolve around aliens & murder. I guess you could say I like more of the PG or PG-13 style haunted houses rather than lots of blood & oddball stuff.
Hmm its for "Haunted Mines" so undead miners.
For me, it's more about who I go with. If I go with a fun group of people, and have a girlfriend to hang onto, and squeal and scream with then I have a blast. Having fun friends who say/do wacky things makes the atmosphere so much better....and of course, you get to re-live the whole thing over Apple Cider later while you accuse everyone but yourself "NO! You were scared! I wasn't! You screamed like a girl! I wasn't scared at all". Hahaha....
I scare easily and I LOVE being scared, so I look forward to haunted houses every year.
I used to go to Halloween Horror nights at universal studios in Orlando when i was younger. It was scary as fuck, i don't know if i would call it fun though.
Tried it and didn't like it at all. I really really dislike being grabbed by surprise, especially in the dark. I got escorted out of there pretty quick.
The last one I went to was in NYC a few years ago, and it honestly was pretty scary!! A lot of cool effects and trippy lights, too. AngelKing is right- prepare to be grabbed a lot. It's fun if you're into horror, and/or enjoy the adrenaline rush from being scared shitless.
i think they are lame. but if i had a hot petite girl who wanted to go on a date to one with me and use me to shield her eyes, then i totally would go.
or maybe if i was drunk.
^ it's more fun if you're drunk.... or high
I like the corn mazes better. You get to wander around, get lost, and the only fright comes from the possibility that you may get stuck with only raw corn cobs to subsist on.
I think there is one of those too, out here.
