I have the same problem. It always looks red. I use a Shick Intuition... the one with the shaving cream as a solid attached around the blades. Then I put on bikini zone. If the skin is really irritated I'll put an ice pack on it for a few minutes to take the redness down.
I'm looking forward to the responses in the thread because I'm pale and always am self conscious about how red and irritated it tends to look.
I use Veet on my lady parts, just not on the pink areas. Around the bikini line area, on the sides in between my legs, dont really know how to describe the area Im talking about lol. But I've never had any irritation from it. The first time I used it, I used it on the pink areas... BIG mistake. Granted, I was like 16 and had never used the stuff before, but still, dumb move on my part. I've never used Nair, but I get the Veet 3 minute stuff for sensitive skin and it works great.
Sorry to say, but I really don't think there is a solution. I just live with it....haven't had any complaints yet. :)
Waxing is better, but you have to deal with the regrowth and pain. I plan on getting laser hair removal soon to avoid the whole issue.
I used to get waxed but got ingrown hairs and the area would be red for a long time. With shaving I have more control over the whole thing... I like it way more.
Laser changed my life. That is all i have to say.
I find that using deodorant (just the regular stick kind) fends off razor burn.
^^^^ That's the old school trick to it. It does work though.
You can also try A&D Ointment, it helps a lot.
I'm going to say lasering is really probably the best option around though, especially if you plan to work regularly for years.
I can't seem to get around the whole razor bumb thing myself =/
Luckily I've already made the sale before my client can see a stray razor bump or two. If at all! It's so dark.
bikini zone helps with razor burn, bumps and itchiness
There are many threads on this.
Use deodorant, the gel kind since it more cleaer on skin.
I prefer to take bath if I shave there, the pores open better in warm water so shaving will be easier than a shower.
I use a moisturizer than shaving cream, try that. I find it rips less.
Shave with the hair, wait a few days before shaving.
Nair is safe down there, just make sure not to touch your bits with it. But I would go against it. I read somewhere that their chemicals are harmful. Plus it didnt work that well on that spot either.. it did.. but not great.
I've used hydrocortisone cream and it's worked pretty well for me. I used to use alcohol then deodorant but it didn't work so well for me after a while. Bikini Zone never worked for me.
I am in the process of doing laser right now and it has changed a LOT already. Waxing gave me in growns, etc but try tendskin or something like that it helps with the rash etc.
I use vitamin E oil after shaving to reduce razor burn but for ME the best option is waxing.
I have always wanted to try laser. In the meantime try shaving with Neosporin in addition to shaving cream, and applying deoderant to the area afterwards. Good luck!
ok thank you. I started using deodarant.. Bikini zone didnt work..Plus i try to use good razors
heating up the shaving cream before using it works a bit. but i have really sensitive skin and my hair grows insanely fast so i think for someone who dosent have this problem it should help more
I laser now, but when I used to shave I ALWAYS used "Tend Skin." Works like a charm. No razor burn or ingrowns.
Hey Miss red miss ya!!!! I told you before use barbasol and men's razors...you seen my vajayjay night after night you know I don't have razor burn
Bikini zone and for the not so sensitive areas I use astore brand face cleanser with salicylic acid in it. The face cleanser trick also made my skin incredible smooth. I've used it on a day I didn't shave, and my legs feel close to shaved again they are so smooth.
But I never use that stuff on my face, it always makes me break out.
Try using some shaving cream or conditioner and using some baby oil on the area after... unless your about to go dance, also exfoliation helps alot!
no.. the secret is shaving with neosporin (antibiotic ointment.) trust me, IT WORKS! i've never been so smooth, & will never use shaving cream again! jenna jameson said that's what porn stars do in her book.
how much neosporin do you use? It seems like it would work really good but that stuff is kinda expensive if your using it like I picture..
My poor vagina. I shave it (against the hair) pretty much every day since I wear a really low thong and work all the time. I actually feel bad for it. And I sware by Bikini Zone. When I put Bikini Zone on and I scream out in pain from the burning, that's how I know I did a good job shaving.
