What About Ray Charles & Cabaret Style Songs?
Ok, so, since I work the pinup girl look (red lipstick, pale skin, lingerie instead a bikini, etc.), do find that a couple more sexual Ray Charles like "(Night Time is) The Right Time" & "My Aphrodisiac is You" by Katie Melua are good songs to strip to? Do you think they'd work? :-\ They both are sexual in nature cabaret style types of songs and I find they're good songs to strip to...well, at least when I was practicing at home to see if they'd work. I can still move slow & sexy...roll my body & move my hips like I'm a belly dancer...slowly rolling my hips & pelvic bone side to side. I mean, I love those two songs.
The crowd at the club I used to work at that I am looking to get hired back at in a few weeks to a month were mostly older white men and african-american men that were older and would understand some good soulful music. I figured it'd turn heads and be kind of a cute kind of sexy.
If you hear both songs then it might give you a better mental picture. :)
please give me some honest feedback. ;D

I have done this song as part of my set and EVERYONE loved it, young, old, and customers of every kind :) Even the owners of the club liked hearing it since they get sick of the same music all the time ....hope this was somewhat encouraging :)

Austinrox,
Thanks for the heads up! Yea, I was thinking of getting some big feather fans and doing like a mini-burlesque show. I want to go back to the club I used to dance at (Gold Cup). Anyway, I want to make it a really sexy burlesque show. Break away from the usual sexy rock song that you hear every single day. I think that having different music and a different kind of set is really key in perhaps even making more money. :-) I've watched enough burlesque shows on youtube to figure it out pretty damn well. haha!
You certainly DID help & encourage me!!
Thanks!

^^^ Since I am not great at the talking hussle, I used the stage to be noticed. I think it's great when someone wants to try something different on stage :) I don't know what type of clientele you are use to, but you would be surprised how many younger people are very familiar with older music...I LOVE that song BTW! Good Luck

A song suggestion.... "I'm through with love" by Jane Monheit (she's very much like Katie Melua)

I do a lot of old music - jazz, cabaret, blues are all on my list. It goes over better with older crowds & crowds that are in for special events. However, there are a number of younger customers who appreciate this style, particularly female customers.
