Re: "You could do so much better than this"
when a customer says that to me I'm like "actually this is the best job I've ever had so I really CAN'T do better than this until I get my degree."
it's not like I'm going on my 40's dancing around a pole. I'm freaking 20 years old!! I graduated high school when I was 17, I took a year off, I went back to school when I was turning 19 and I'll have my degree in a few years. I'm YOUNG. it's not like I'm on the fast track to nowhere.
when the guy is like "ohhh come on you don't want to take off your clothes for money" I say "why not? I have a great body and I'm not doing anything dirty so why is it so bad?" then he'll usually say something along the lines of how the customers are really creepy and I make a joke about how HE's the creepy one for trying to persuade a person he just met to change their whole life for HIM.
if all else fails, tell them you have a day job and you do this on the side for fun and extra cash. some guys think that all strippers are hurting for money so that's why they strip. turn the tables on him and tell him you love dancing and you wouldn't do it if you didn't want to.
Re: "You could do so much better than this"
haha, i had a guy say this to me at a private party we did a few weeks ago, after he dropped a ton of money on dances, was like "you are so beautiful, you don't have to dance for a living, you can do better than that" and i literally just laughed in his face and said "if you can get me a job where i can work part time, make my own hours, run around naked, smack people who aren't nice to me, drink champagne, and make 6-digits a year, WITHOUT a college degree, i'm all for it!"
he didn't really know what to say after that. my job is waaay better than his. LOL
^^ btw im working on my college degree but obvs its not required for getting naked.
Re: "You could do so much better than this"
^I love that response lol
I don't make 6 digits a year though :(
Re: "You could do so much better than this"
Lol, "you're too pretty to be doing this", I've never understood that line. A few times I've replied "yeah, I tried applying for the hot chick grant but apparently it doesn't exist".

Or once I asked the guy what he did for a living and when he said he was a lorry driver I just looked at him and said "oh but you could do so much better!" in my most patronizing voice. That shut him up.
I've done that, but the guy got shitty and loud and I had to back track.

Being called a "fucking cunt" by a customer cause I didn't bring him and his family napkins fast enough (true story) and winding up being in the wrong and having to apologize....as opposed to being able to walk away and call the nearest boucer over to have that person who verbally abuses me thrown out? No comparison.
I didn't usually mind waitressing and usually got good customers but the nasty ones were awful. The nastiest experience I had with someone like this was when I worked at McDonalds. This woman came in and started belitting me, calling me "honky" and making even worse racist comments (she was black). She was extremely abusive. I think it's because her food was taking longer than expected (which had nothing to do with me). The kicker though was when she called over the manager and asked for me to apologize to her! The manager asked me to apologize and I said no way and literally walked out the door. That experience was far more demeaning than any club I ever worked at, even the ones with the worst managers.
