sales techniques
so I spent about an hour today reading through online articles about sales techniques not necessarily related to selling lap dances and I noticed a common theme was to be interested in your client. act as if you genuinely CARE about him/her and be appreciative of their business. saying "thank you" and treating the person as somebody you genuinely like (as a customer not a friend).
what are your thoughts on this? does this technique work in the strip club?
it seems more often than not the customers will ask a billion questions about ME and have me blabbering on endlessly about myself. I'm gonna try to switch the focus of the conversation to them tonight and see how it affects my money.

Re: sales techniques
From what you are saying I agree. You need to have a bit of genuine interest though because its pretty easy for most people to spot fakeness & acting. Listen, don't make your customers repeat themselves. Also, good manners will go a long way.

Re: sales techniques
Don't let the customer lead the conversation. You're always in charge, you're the one who is asking the questions and leading the conversation towards him spending $$ on you. Make him feel like he is more than just an ATM machine for you, but don't get into the friend zone. Ask about his hobbies/travels (his dream destination)/anything pleasant, make him talk about things that trigger positive emotions.
Always make eye contact and look interested! Don't let him see your eyes wander around the club to see if there is someone waving $$ at you. Focus on one customer at a time.
Put yourself in his shoes. If you were a customer, who would you spend on? Set yourself apart from the obviously money hungry and desperate 'Wanna dance?" girls. I've gotten a lot of good feedback from customers who feel like I truly care and listen. There are so many lonely people in this world and many of them set their foot to a strip club to find someone to connect with. You can get tits and ass everywhere, but a true connection and affection is really hard to find.
Mention him how you're pleasantly surprised to meet a gentleman like him and how he is different from all the other guys in this place and how you would love to show him a memorable time. I always compliment a guy, no matter how fat/ugly/old he is, there is always something beautiful about a person, maybe his eyes/watch/tie/shirt/shoes/fragrance, whatever you prefer.
Guys are in a strip club for different reasons, but they are all there for a good time. Make them feel SPECIAL and they will spend $$ on you. I hope this helped a bit. It really works for me. :)

Re: sales techniques
Guys are silly they want to go to strip clubs yet not be treated like ATM's.
It's a subtle art but it is known to work. ::)
I make better money with the guys that I can see myself hanging OTC with. Obviously I try to make other guys feels special and that is where it gets tricky. You have to be real with just enough actress thrown in. Some guys want you throwing yourself at them, others are turned off by that.
It's your job to figure out who likes what.
See this thread it's sort of the same thing:

Re: sales techniques
I had really good luck last Sat. from a customer who was being generous on stage. I said something like " thanks for much for tipping well on stage. It's way fun to be tipped up there and I appreciate it ". Agreed. There is nothing wrong with saying thank you.

Re: sales techniques
Another huge mistake I notice dancers doing all the time is when they except customers to tip them heaps of money and get angry and pissy with them when they only tip $1-$2. It's not a lot of money for strippers, but think about the guys that come in and actually get paid like $15-$20 an hour. They're showing their appreciation and unless they hand you the dollar accompanied by a rude comment, like "You gotta work for this dollar!!!!1111", ALWAYS be nice to everybody who tips, because these $1 bills add up and if guys see you being bitchy about it with other customers, they won't give you anything and it will hurt your money.

Re: sales techniques
It helps if you can find some common ground that you both feel strongly/passionate about. I love skiing so I usually bring that up, (my club is in a ski resort so thats usually a winner) and if they don't ski/snowboard I ask them about other outdoor/extreme sports and things they'd like to try or places they'd like to go/have been. Somewhere along the line of linked questions I find something they are excited to talk about that I can be equally excited to listen to. By then its like we've made a connection and voila! I'm that 'special girl' that they can't get enough of :D

Re: sales techniques
Oh, and I've had feedback about that moment at the end of a dance when you're putting your outfit back on. If the guy chooses to stay and wait for me then I giggle and say 'I really need to practise my reverse strip, what do you think?' and give a little bum wiggle as I get dressed. I've had guys go running back to their friends to tell them how lovely it was that I continued to chat after the dance rather than just leaving. It usually earns me another dance and/or a drink.
