QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
Hi girls, I hope you don't mind this question, I've searched the site and haven't quite found the answer... I hope I'm able to ask in a way that makes sense!
So... how does Paypal monitor what you're getting paid for, and how do they find out what these "adult" transactions really are?? I'm new to camming & had someone give me 20 bucks on paypal for a skype chat -- non-nude, just me in my bra.
2 questions - Is sitting in my underwear even considered "adult" for something like Paypal? And either way - HOW DOES PAYPAL MONITOR WHAT THESE PAYMENTS ARE FOR? I don't get it - can someone please help explain? :(

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
idk how they monitor it....but even a simple thing can happen like the client that got the show, asking for a refund and reporting you. There very huge on making the customer buyer (not seller) happy on their site

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
Be VERY, VERY careful and pull you money as soon as you can. I recently had my Paypal account closed due to adult transactions. There are a few very good reasons on why Paypal doesn't want adult transactions, but I think they are just a bunch of eharmony.com style fuck faces. (Eharmony.com doesn't let gays sign-up--bigots.)
There are a few alternatives. E-giftcards, Alertpay or signing up with an indy cam site and only taking 70 percent. Hopefully we will get some more ideas from other people.
Paypal found out that I was offering ''adult services'' because they checked to see where my Chipin widget was. I had it on my MFC profile and it was being used as a ''moving fund''. They Googled me and cited other websites that I have never even used the word "Paypal" on. I really hate how Paypal is so strong. I don't want to use them, but sometimes I still have to pay for things using Paypal since they have such a strong presence on the internet. I had a 500 dollar payment and I think that was a red flag for them. Look for alternative methods. I have 1000 dollars in my Paypal account and I can't have it for 180 days due to my limited account.
:sigh: I don't know! Good luck and be careful.

Thanks -- I think I'm only going to be doing the skype/paypal thing for a very select few people - I can't imagine them asking for a refund/reporting me? As long as I "keep 'em happy," should I be safe?

Thanks so much! Yeah, as I mentioned above, I think I plan on doing the paypal thing for a VERY select few people- and not too often? And as long as I don't use Chipin or link to anything, anywhere related to my paypal account... do you think I should be safe as long as I keep everything on the "down low"?
Also -- the site I'm camming for is a non-nude site that pays me through Paypal, on the same account where I accepted the skype transaction. I can't tell if that should make me more or less careful?
I think I'll look into the alternatives, I just think it's going to be harder to get the guys to use the other sites, you know?

Even guys who are happy with your performance will ask for a refund. There are scammers out there who do this all day long to unsuspecting cam models. It is just not safe. Some guys know that if they report you, they will ultimately get a free show out of you. It's a huge scam.

Also - this deserves its own reply. WHAT THE FUCK?! I had no idea eharmony was so fucked. This pisses me off so, so much. Grrrr.

Haha, silly naive me not thinking about the fact that most people are complete assholes and that I shouldn't be so trusting - esp. in this kind of business.
Thanks. I'll start looking into AlertPay, etc. and hope that my guys will be understanding.

I wouldn't call you silly. Getting conned while doing independent cam, can happen to the best of us. It happened to me once.
When I was new, a guy asked me if I wanted to do a show for him off my cam site, and on skype. Said he would pay me via pay pal $100 for 30 minutes. So of course I say yes, because I'm like why the fuck should I do a 30 minute show on the cam site, and only get 30%? So I got his email, and told him via messenger to pay the money up front. I waited until I saw the money, but I made a mistake. I didn't know much about pay pal. I saw the payment of $100 in pending status. Anyway, I did the show with the jerk for 30 minutes. I turned off my cam and he asked me if he could pay me another $100 for another 30 minutes. Now finally red flags are going up (I was slow huh?) I told him no. I will wait for the 1st $100 to go into my bank account and he can come back then for a 2nd show.
A few days later pay pal emailed me telling me that this guy did not honor his check, and basically I don't get the money lol. MAN DID I FEEL STUPID!!!! WHEW
AND he watched a couple of my recorded videos that weekend, and did a charge back on my ass! I am 100% sure he enjoyed the videos, he watched a few. I know I put on a good show. He asked for a 2nd.
These guys are repeat offenders, and they know how to get around the system.
So don't feel silly. This happens all the time! But it wont happen to ME again lol.:-[

Jazebelle, I had two Paypal accounts for two different countries. Both were registered with different debit cards. They closed both of them.
After my accounts were limited I tried to open an account in my son's name with his bank account from a different ip in a different state. They limited that one, too!
When Paypal gets you, they get you! Be careful. :)

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
Why do people think it's wrong that e-harmony is intended purely for the straight population when dating sites like gaydar etc are intended purely for the gay population ?
I don't really see what the problem is , there's plenty of sites which accept both straight and gay profiles, and then there's those intended for one or the other . I'm not sure how that's offensive . If people insist that e-harmony accept gay registrations, then gay and lesbian dating sites need to start accepting straight registrations! Everything seems to be about political correctness these days , almost to the point of ridicule.
Just saying :)

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
Something I was thinking about (regarding PayPal)...when you click on 'withdraw money' and transfer the money to your bank account, it says that the maximum you can withdraw from PayPal is only like $500 a month, which sucks. But I think I saw a button you can click on to find out more info on how to increase the monthly withdrawal limit.

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
Hehehe. The reason why gays wanted the e-harmony was because of that particular compatibility software.... it was like making a lotion that was awesome but not selling it to men. In this case, a marvelous piece of code only available to the straight population.
they had all these minority portals... jewish ,black, etc.. but no gay....
Anyways. They were sued to allow gays rights to the software. So they made a gay site... but you couldn't use the gay and straight sites without paying extra... wheras you could use the jewish site and the regular site... so there was like a bisexual fee. ... and also unlike the other minority portals, it was nowhere to be seen on the main site.. the gay site was the redheaded stepchild.
so recently again they were sued to connect the sites ...
It also took e-harmony YEARS to do interracial relationship commercials. I remember feeling that every couple could use the same foundation.
Whooops! I forgot the part where the founder was like, "The bible says homosexuality is wrong". So, UKmissy. I totally agree on political correctness being ridiculous, but I do think E-harmony is a bigoty-ass company.
And for that, I don't want to make them accept my gay. I want to stay away from them. And maybe I do want to sue them- not to make them accept me, but so that they can be that much closer to failing as a business! :)

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
I'm going to sue Gaydar :-)
-
Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
It is kind of strange thinking about .. suing e-harmony.
So time consuming and probably expensive.
I'd much rather write a dirty email. To Gaydar too. I bet they don't cater to relationship-minded homosexuals!
Anyways! YES. PAYPAL. Probably not anti-adult. It's probably just a sound business choice. I think most internet/finance services profit off of accepting adult business- but only by accepting a high risk. Probably -because- people are so sue-happy. I know that's why a lot of web hosts are anti-adult.

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
if you go to straydoggentertainment.com they dodirect deposit. also netspend is a cool way to go. they mail you a debit card and put your money on that, then you can use it to charge or get cash advances.

You probably need to do another thing to verify your account completely. Sort that out!

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
I am going to THIRD the great advice already offered:
As soon as you get paid to paypal, get that shit OUTTA THERE and into your banky-bank. Stat.
Oh yeah... and:
-Do be at least a LITTLE bit selective with the guys you allow to pay you this way.
-Make sure they are not gonna write a little thank you note with their payment to the effect of "Thanks for that hot show babe.... your pink pussy was the juiciest thing I've ever seen. I shot a big load! Kisses!" Like... duuuuh.
-When you sign up on paypal, you have to judiciously select which of your REAL info to give (so your bank info gets verified and you get paid!), and which to fake. Make sure you know what the customer is seeing. You dont want them having your REAL phone number! Or god forbid, your real name.
-Never never never say anything even REMOTELY sexual in anything paypal related.... if you use a fake 'business name', don't select "Porno Princess LTD".
And yeah.... sticking a paypal "pay me" banner (or whatever those things are) on your camming webpage is probably not a good idea either, if paypal has a way of seeing where things are placed (I'm not well-versed in this area). Just post the email address associated with the paypal acct, and leave it at that. All your customers need to know in order to pay you is your email addy anyhow.

LMAO...I LOVE this post. 8)
I have a few different e-mail address accounts, and the e-mail I give to the MFC guys who've won my raffle is never my primary e-mail. And for my alternative e-mail account, on the profile I had the name 'Jerrica Benton' (remember Jem and the Holograms from the 80s?)...lol. :P I recently changed the name to something different.

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
I have a paypal account with my cam name; so far only ONE person has my paypal account name for Skype shows. The money goes to my cam name account, then I transfer it out to the account with my real name, and then into my bank account. It takes a few days, but I do all of the transferring as soon as I can. Is this how you ladies do it as well?
I have a ChipIn as well for tuition (for real, it's tuition money). I haven't put the widget anywhere, but I have a link from my blog to my ChipIn page. Do you think paypal could see all that info, or would they just see the ChipIn page??

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
no wonder i have guys constantly asking if I use paypal-had no clue so many camgirls STILL use it. ummm

Re: QUESTION: Paypal and "Adult" Transactions?
So Alertpay is the way to go then??

I have been doing cam shows for over 10 years now and I have not had one single person ask me if I take AlertPay. Most guys will have a paypal account making that option easiest for them.
If you use PayPal, be SURE to trust the person paying you.
Another option is to set up a wish list on Amazon.com and then you can have men buy gifts for you or gift cards and Amazon gift certificates from the wish list.
