Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
you might want to buy an original design instead of using one that at least 3 other cam sites that I have seen are already using.
-
Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
Well I do love the sound of those percentages, but I have to ask - is Ava Alexander really endorsing your site?
Ava, please chime in here if you see this and tell us more! Thanks :)
Do you have a good source of traffic already? That's the #1 problem I have with trying out new sites. Usually it's too slow to take my time to go on there.
I have already done the 3 camera angles thing at another site. Guys didn't seem to like it, but maybe you will have better luck.

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
I noticed two other streamate models supporting you on the main page. 50% sounds pretty damn good to me. Are you affiliated with streamate? Please give us more details.

Thanks for the info. I have been around and noticed that and that is why I am
working on a new design for the site. Actually it is 90% complete but I have to work
out a few bugs in the template.

Yes my luv those %'s are real. One are affiliates are on a pay per sale. So they
don't get a recurring % of the members spends. This leaves more for the model.
To me I think the only fair split is when a model is receiving at least half or a little
more. Without the models you have no site. And every guy hates a sausage
party!
Um..yea me and Ava go back like bibs and PJ's! Besides it is not saying she is
actually endorsing the site but she is endorsing being a model. The quote.
"I'm a student by day, and model from home at night. Who wouldn't want a job
that works around their schedule and pays, like $100/hour?"
Now if you see her as a model on my site...umm...then we may have a problem!
Hey unless Ava cares to join and help a brotha out!
Yes I understand how you feel about the traffic situation. Being a new site that is
something that can be a struggle to deal with. Look at it from our position, you
are all set up and you have teams of affiliates ready to send traffic and you have
been doing advertising for awhile also. Then on the day you launch your site you
have 3 models! All the energy put into getting traffic does not pay off because no
one will stay on a site with 3 models.
Or the reverse you have 50 models at launch and you have no traffic! No models
will stay at a site that has no traffic. So how do you fix that? Well we will see if my
secret sauce works on Jan 1.
The idea is to bring models and members together at the same time. Actually
paying traffic not just peek-a-boob traffic!
Once ok maybe thrice I watched a show on MFC with the model Amber Cutie. She
had 2 webcams going one was in the PnP(picture in picure) mode. One was
focused on her whole body while the other was focused on her um derriere. The
boys seemed to like it as she was getting nothing but compliments on the view of
her derriere.
It is for all for us not to like something. Some don't like the tipping method. Some
don't like the free chat method. Some don't like the pay chat only method. And
really when you don't like something...whether you believe it or not, it comes
across in your cam. Which at the end of the day reflects in your pay. And us guys
are the same way. Some will love the 3V while others will hate it. Our goal is to try
something different and go after the people who are interested in something
different.
Being a guy, so far I have not met any other guy who didn't like the idea. :P

Actually I have a studio with Streamate. At the moment I don't plan on involving
Streamate unless I have to use their models for filler...but I don't plan on doing
that at the moment.

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
Had a quick check over the site. Seems ok. Over the net there is some posts of 55%-70% though but no biggie, prob just changed at some point. As far as I can tell its been over a year for the making of this site so lets hope its worth it :D
Payout methods are ambitious. This is definately one I will interested to see its future.
I think the wording in this is abit off though:
Free processing
Wickvid is completely FREE, safe and secure. You receive a percentage of every dollar billed to your customers, and we take care of the credit card processing fees.
Completely free but the % taken (as expected). There is charges for processing payouts though isnt there? so not really completely free.
The site also as far as I can tell doesnt mention the fee's of payouts. Most likely because site isnt fully complete yet.
Thumbs up though for now

Working on the fee structure for payouts. Trying to come up with a happy
medium for all. I will look at the wording around "completely free" Thank you very much for the feedback!

how odd. I'm using firefox and it just takes me to a white screen. :(

I do like the 50% payout to start. not bad.

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
ok it was my stupid internet. I saw that new design and it's the same as another site, again. I really recommend something original. But, I am intrigued by your 3v thing.

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
I'm curious to know once this website comes out if it will have a good policy over preventing chargebacks like if it will protect models against it like on Streamate and Cam Contacts ?
I do like the higher percentage rate and hope once the website comes out it be a success.

ok ok ok...hmm...how about this...if you sign up...I will work on a new design
just for you in 2011. An all new fresh original design that will go beta 90 days
after launch ;D
Well even if you don't do it I will redesign the site anyway. The problem is
that this design I feel was better than the default. It will take me longer to
implement the chagnes for the design I really want to go with...and the site
would not have been ready by 1.1.11
nikki-chan
I will have to create the style sheet for IEX before the launch date. I am
not really a fan of IEX but I do understand that people do use it. If you try the site in Firefox, Chrome or Safari it should work fine. I will update when the IEX problem is solved and thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Charge Backs suck but we have to deal with them.
I have been thinking about this and here is how I am looking at it.
A girl does a show for $100. And she receives $50 for it. Nice pay right?
4 Days later the Visa flags the charge as Fraud. This is what happens:
The site gets hit with 112% fee. So not only does the site have to refund
the $100 but they also get penalized $12 for the charge back.
Plus if they would still have to pay the model $50. So now the site is out of
$62 for a single charge back. So the model makes $50 and the site loses $62.
I could really see a site going out of business real fast.
Now if a site was only paying say 30% or so then I could see them covering
charge backs as they keep 20% from every model just to cover any
possible charge backs for every model.
So my question to you as a model is:
Would you rather have 50% - 70% with charge backs?
or
Would you rather have 30% - 35% with no charge backs.
I may have to change the percentage fee based on those above options...input please!

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
Id personally do what Adultwork.com does. Visa will only issue the chargeback if the site in question cannot prove that the person done it willingly. If you can say with good reason that the person using the card was the cardholder then there cannot be a chargeback. Its in the rules somewhere about this but I have limited knowledge about the subject.
Id start googling chargebacks and do alot of reading :) but there is a way to stop chargebacks as a merchant.

Waaaaa, really?
When I started camming I got a chunk of a chargeback on one site (cough. when people on imlive say only accept silver, gold, and VIP and/or people who don't have weird names, boy do they mean it. Haven't had a CB since that first pay period, but Im trying to slowly ease off of the site) and have been paranoid about CBs in general ever since. I asked AW about it awhile ago and was having some serious reading comprehension fail while reading their response. So Ive been expecting random debits when I reach the payout and request a pay transfer from AW.
That's a fair policy. I'm kicking myself for not knowing this earlier, but I'm glad I caught that. Thanks PrincessJenny!
edit: whoops, thought this post was still in Other Work!

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
I have seen sites that make the person go file a police report. Believe me that has
made a many reconsider trying to call fraud on their own credit purchase.
A friend of mine tried to dispute charges to her card that her boyfriend made and
the XXX company told her that if she filed a police report they would then remove
the charges. Of course she didn't want to do that. /:O But he ended up paying
her for it anyway.
Also been thinking of a probationary period. For instance if the model has had 0-3
small charge backs in a 30 day probation period and that is 30 working days, not
work 2 days and then come back on the 31 day and work, then we would eat
the charges. The charge back money would then be held for the probation period
before release.
If charge backs continued to happen then the model would have to eat the
charges or possibly the account canceled if fraud from the model is suspected.
We will do everything in out power to prevent charge backs from legit members
who are trying to claim fraud to get their money back.

Somethings slightly off in firefox 3.6.13. On some pages example my screen can scroll about 30% to the left and right with no content on it.

Not a major issue at all but thought I would let you know.
Everytime a page loads I have to scroll to the center then scroll left and right to read some text.
Seems the site is too big for my screen.

Re: WickVid.com: Webcam Models Wanted Earn 50% - 70%. A New Way 2 Cam!
Well, in my reading lately about chargebacks and merchant accts, I know CC Bill holds a certain percentage in a "rolling reserve" in addition to the fee they charge to process credit card transactions.
Have you considered anything similar to this? So, a higher cut to the models than the huge sites that give 30-35%, but perhaps a part of a percentage that is held from each pay period to cover chargebacks if they do occur.
What they do is start to release the held rolling reserves fund after (several) weeks of it sitting there. They don't release it all at once, they back pay per week/pay period for each week or pay period that the funds were held "in escrow."
They take 23-26 wks to do this, but perhaps for your site, you could do a 90 day or 6 week period and then start releasing the percentage held back and having that supplement the girls' income as they continue on with the site.
Just thinking out loud. So, maybe a choice between a rolling reserve coupled with slightly higher pay or smaller percentage paid out to performer that is SLIGHTLY higher than the competition(to allow for chargebacks), but they get it faster?
Hope that makes sense. I wish I could break the actual numbers down more but I'm seriously in need of a noon naptime!
