newbie things: talking to guys for a way way longer time who arent spending
more trusting of shit people say
always nice and bubbly to everyone even after your 4th shift in a row
hustling too much
not hustling enough
standing around looking shy
dancing too fast to the music like nightclub, not slow n sexy with eyecontact
stumbling items of clothing, getting caught up in bra fastenings and knickers etc
look really confident in everything you do
some guys pry on newbies to take advantage of them, its better to look like an experienced dancer
non stripper shoes. I see a girl wearing pumps at my work lol looks so silly on stage. her feet must be killing her. also non-graceful pole tricks, and general awkward-ness on stage
Cheerful vacant expression
Fashion bug/payless shoes
Wal mart bra and panty set
humping stage like epileptic bunny rabbit
Overly friendly
Deer in the headlights look onstage
Following veteran dancer around asking too many questions
Asking to borrow various hygiene items (although not a vice confined to newbs)
Asking to borrow outfits
Committing an etiquette faux pas
Although it is becoming harder to spot newbs because some do take pole dancing classes. It's kinda like in Terminator where the ones with rubber faces were easy to spot. But then they came out with the Ahhhnold model and then it wasn't so easy to spot. Same with newbs. It takes a trained eye to spot em.
Also, being in awe of mundane amounts of money. ("OMFG I just made $100!!!!!)
Do people seriously wear payless shoes? I'm not doubting any of you, I just cannot imagine seeing a girl wearing a cork wedge or some bullshit like that.
How bizarre. I haven't seen that in Vegas but I also don't pay much attention to other girls. It seems like it would hurt your feet.
When I was new, customers would tell me that I was full of it when I told them I'd only been dancing a few weeks. I can't imagine why. I was awkward as hell on stage and couldn't figure out how to put my makeup on so it looked right in the dark ass club.
I think confidence is the best thing to have when it comes to customers. If you don't seem nervous talking to them or put up with ridiculous bullshit, they probably won't think you're new.
Anyone seen Jamie Lee Curtis' performance on True Lies? I call it Jamie Lee Curtis syndrome...

Newbs move like this :D the only cure for JLCS is time.
haha, I like when she falls down. Yeah, I've done that before. I admit it. LOL, priceless.
Leaving tags on things like clothes & shoes, amateurs often do this too.
Not interacting with the customers at all
Inability to remove their bra gracefully, & then when they go to put it back on they turn it into some sort of circus act:

Basically, avoid having to "turn" the bra in front of the customers - it looks tacky. If you need to practice, do so at home.
Dashing off the stage as soon as the song ends because they are so nervous they MUST put on their clothes right away
+1 Yes
Ugh, I remember seeing that scene for the first time. It made me sick to my stomach because of how awkward she looked... its like when you see a new girl & she's so awkward that you feel bad for her!
Have you seen girls wear soft ballet slippers flats or cowboy boots yet? Yeah... speechless...
These are a few unique to my club based off of the other clubs I've been to.
Leaving the towel onstage after use (to wipe the pole clean)
Using a garter (no one at my club uses em)
Playing rap/ghetto music (again, this is just my club)
hahaha...an epileptic bunny rabbit ::)
i do alot of these. mostly the dancing horribly on stage, staying to long with custys that dont spend money & being in awe of the money. LOL
Oh and being WAY to nice. I need a lesson in being a bitch!
ya i would never wear payless shoes :O
I notice that whenever I don't smile or make eye contact I get asked a lot if I'm new because I look "nervous" or if I dance really far away from the customer. I want to be like "no I'm not new you're just ugly and you smell bad"
the experienced dancers know how to make it look like they like everybody.
At the club I first started at, there was another new dancer who would wear her ballet slippers and do a ballet routine on stage. She never got totally nude, she hated showing her ass, and hated private dances. While her ballet was beautiful, it was seriously painful to watch her on stage because she looked so unhappy being there.
Oh yeah, while she was on the floor, she's often wear crocs. :O
Haven't seen cowboy boots yet though.
I've seen cowboy boots and not on newbies either. they're atrocious. I wish STRIPPERS would just get STRIPPER SHOES. almost everything else looks ridiculous on stage.
ive seen vet strippers rock non stripper shoes. i would totally rock cowboy boots. and i have seem some girls rock the sporty look, with the soccer socks and sneakers and pull it off very nicely. and if they are working a lot of days in a row, i dont blame them.
id say the biggest thing is being overly friendly. and being overlhy friendly in run on sentences. yech. like "OMG YOU ARE SO PRETTY I LOVE MY JOB SOOO MUCH MONEY I LOVE MEN GAHHHHHHHH!"
but every single night with non-stripper shoes? the girl who wear cowboy boots never have a cute outfit to go with it. it would be SO easy, just tie a little bandana around your chest, a denim mini skirt, with a cowboy hat and that would be so cute, but if you're wearing a g-string and a regular bra, it looks ridiculous.
also girls who come in wearing their prom heels look weird and their feet must kill by the end of the night.
^^oh i meant with an outfit that worked. like daisy dukes and a cut off shirt or something. i think its a sexy look.
taking off your top too soon! lol i did that for my first lapdance while my friend was standing behind the guy showing me what to do haha
getting naked too soon (like 30 seconds into your first song on stage)
humping the pole
cheap payless shoes (yes, i have seen MANY newbies wearing these)
babydoll lingerie
thongs that sit too high on your hips
To the OP...
Not securing their money in their garter with a rubberband
Trusting customers too much-not getting their money upfront for VIP rooms, not counting the money their customer gave them for dances or VIP
