how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
I'm sure we've all been there...or most of us have. one of those nights where NONE of the customers seem to want to get a dance with you. maybe there's too many girls or maybe it's just not the right crowd, but for some reason you've been at work for 4-5 hours and have only gotten ONE dance or maybe haven't gotten any!
this happened to me thursday night and it was horrible. there were a ton of customers around but none of them seemed to be interested in me. the customers were generously tipping a lot of the other girls on stage, but it seemed that every time I walked by they would just stare and maybe give me a dollar or two. I ended up walking out with about 40 bucks.
I sat down with EVERY guy I could see, doing my usual hustle, smiling, nodding, giggling, touching, complimenting, etc. usually the customers fall in love with me in like 2 seconds but nothing was working!
I changed my outfits, touched up my makeup frequently, spritzed some body spray on between sets, fixed my hair, requested good songs to dance to, etc but no luck.
I guess it just wasn't my night!!!
help??

Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
We've all been there!
First mode is "Just keep on truckin" I will go up to every single customer. If no luck, I'll chill in the dressing room for a bit. Then, I'll go back out and try again. The difference between me and the next girl making nothing, is that I'll only hide away for 15 minutes before I make the next round. I'm not going to sit in the dressing room bitching for longer than that.
THEN, damnit I'm not a robot! It does get to me, too. If its that bad I will ask to go home for my own mental health. It rarely comes to this, but once you get into that mood where you HATE everybody its pretty useless to stick around. Mostly I want to stick it through, remembering that the last hour of the night is almost always bank. But if I can't make it that long without getting all stabby, I'm out!!

In the rare instance that it doesn't, I change my prime motive for working customers from money to connections. That means rather than trying to tear my head of looking for money, I look for a connection that would SAVE me money. Remember the plastic surgeon mentioned in the other thread? If you were interested in getting surgery this would be a prime night to talk to him & get him to offer you a heavy discount. Others could be: lawyers, vetrinarians, social network marketing people, personal trainers, computer techs, etc. These could be useful not only to save yourself money, but also your friends & potentially family. Sometimes getting anything useful to you will help re-motivate you.

that's really good advice. I've had customers offer me deals on everything from doing my taxes to selling me drugs lol. I find that when I'm genuinely interested in a person I make more money as well. thank you!
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
I was having a terrible, terrible night last night, and was on the verge of tears, so I went downstairs to our dressing room, lit a cigarette and sat in front of the mirror. I've never done the positive affirmation thing before, and it felt really weird at first, but then it actually started to work. I was sitting there saying to my reflection 'You are hot, sexy, fun and interesting. You are happy and fun and you're going to make some money'. I sat there until I finished my cigarette, went upstairs a lot happier, and the 3rd table i sat with i managed to sell a bottle of whisky, a glass of champagne for myself, a double tabledance with a friend, and a private dance for myself. Not an amazing night, but they were nice people and I finished the night on a good note.
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
I try and do a round to approach everyone, but if the room just isn't feeling me, I'll sit for a little bit and smile at anyone that catches my eye (the other day I had a guy come up to me and say I looked lonely, then asked if we could go for a dance, so this can be a good way to get your game back on!). If no one new is coming in and my mood is going sour, I'll go into the dressing room for a couple of songs to eat a snack or play around on my phone, anything to hide from the customers and get into a better mood. Then it's back out on the floor with a smile and approaching everyone. For me though, it's pretty hard to get out of a shitty mood when I'm making very little money without actually starting to make money, so some shifts just end up being a bust, and I chit chat for the rest with the girls (unless customers come in of course, then I go over to them) so I don't end up leaving completely miserable.
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
Last night I was having a shitty night at work... I called Chris, he picked me up, we fucked for hours I came 5 times. That's how I turn an uber shitty night into a REALLY good one.
I made less than a sweatshop laborer but I was a billionaire in orgasms so I don't give a FUCK!!!! :D

Ever heard that song "the Gambler" by Kenny rogers? It could be applied to stripping.
You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealing's done
I knew it was time to walk away... I wasn't gonna make any money. Lets just say the ethnic demographics were NOT conducive to financial success. -_-
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
I keep a note (in my phone) of a bunch of phrases, words, one liners and hustle tips from SW - I'll go upstairs, have a smoke, take some breaths, and read through them. I might try to remember a different line to try out when I go back down, a different attitude, whatever. I'll run through my hustle in my head, so I'm not getting stuck in a rut saying the same thing to every customer.
Sometimes, if I'm feeling miserable as well as unproductive, I'll text my boy for some cheering up, or try to remember a really funny joke, or think about what this money is going towards, an what I'm going to be doing that is really fun or exciting.
Finally - SMILE - paste on a big fake smile, fake your happy, and then you may actually end up feeling a little happier!
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
I set goals at the beginning of the night and doing so keeps me incredibly motivated =] I also write down a new inspirational quote on pretty construction paper and decorate it to put in my locker.
Meditation and positive thinking does wonders for my money also.
It's all about preping my night to be a good one. Once I get to work I'm in such a great mood nothing can get me down.

Affirmations are SO powerful! Mirror work especially. I'm glad it worked for you. I first learned about the power of affirmations in You Can Heal Your Life by Loise Hay. She's the best!

Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
But in all seriousness sometimes when you just get this gut feeling inside that you aren't going to make any money, it's time to pack it up for the night. You can sit at work miserable trying to fake happy or you can go home, rest and be with the one you love. Tomorrow is another day, Scarlett said.

true. that's what I usually do. I feel like it would be more productive to try to turn the night around and make it a good night but sometimes it just ISN'T worth the effort if you can't turn your mood around.
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
Either 1) your energy level is low and you need to eat or listen to some hype music or talk with a friend/lover or 2)you are missing the cues the custies are giving. I don't know if you've done Strip and Grow Rich but the concept is there are different types of custies and you need to be clear on what type they are and sell in the style they like. If you find this happening a lot you may be working the wrong shift to find your kind of guy or you may be at the wrong club to work your kind of hustle.
Re: how do you turn a really bad night into a good one?
Men (well anyone) can tell when you're in a bad mood or faking your happiness. I've had nights where I've cried a lot but needed to turn it around. I've only left early once, because I was crying. I live 45 minutes away so I don't want to leave when I could potentially make more money...however, if I'm completely miserable, it's worse to stick around...for my sake and the poor customers I may take my rage out on. Also on that note, don't listen to the girls complaining...I actually like when I hear girls whining and saying they're leaving: more customers for me! Their attitude can also affect you, so just ignore it and do YOU.
I try my hardest to NOT sit alone at the bar scowling at everyone. Sometimes, yes, a customer has come up to me saying I look lonely and will buy a dance or even just bide my time and chat, but it's important to look like you're busy and in-demand. People want what everyone else has. They should also feel so gracious that you took time out of your EXTREMELY busy night to grace them with your presence ;)
I usually make a loop around the room, stop at customers I haven't talked to yet...if it's dead, I may chat with them for a little longer; this way, I look busy. If I don't do this, I will talk to the bouncers. Depending on who it is, with my repertoire at the club, they will either send me in the direction of a customer or just chat with me. If not this, I may talk to the DJ and maybe have him put me on stage sooner. If not any of this, I go into the dressing room and freshen up. If it's completely dead, I like to read this forum on my iPhone! Haha or text, Facebook, whatever. Maybe eat. I try my best to get my positive attitude back.
