Look into the laws first to make sure this wouldn't count as solicitation!

Have you tried online networking sites/your own site/google search optimization? Its a lot of effort but it can be a way of reminding current regs to come in and getting new ones interested.
free passes have helped me get a few return customers but I've never thought about doing it out in public. I could see a very bad turnout with that. inside the club you have bouncers and cameras. outside the club who knows what could happen when you tell a guy you're a dancer. I'd just be careful if I were you, hun
We promote all the time.. usually a couple of girls go out together and we approach a group of guys, talk them up, then say "you wanna see me naked?" And usually they are like, "hell yes" or "absolutely".. then we hand them a stack of passes and tell them, "well stop out and see us".. You should do the approaching because you are out promoting yourself.. Just like at the club, guys don't always like to approach hot chicks. I think this is a great idea and should definitely up your money :) Good luck!
When you are sitting in jail tonight for solicitation just think back on this moment. Most clubs/bars have bartenders and management on the lookout for prostitutes soliciting customers. I'm sure the police will get a kick out of your free passes protest.

I don't think that's false pretenses at all. I once worked at a club (non strip club) where the dancers of another club came in to solicit. As it turns out this club was a new club and I quit my waitressing job to go back to dancing.
What I used to do was call these dating phone numbers (forerunner to internet dating) and tell these guys that if they wanted to meet me, I was working at a certain club. I got quite a few who became regulars this way. I've known dancers who did online for this (though it might be illegal and immoral if intentionally leading someone on).
I would do this all the time in Vegas.
What you will probably encounter is that as soon as they know you are a stripper, they will solicit you for private dances in their hotel. Since they met you OTC...they want to keep it OTC.
...And if they do come into the club, you get so much more of the "well, since I met you at Ray's Bar, do you wanna go out to Ray's Bar with me tomorrow night?" I've never made HUGE amounts off from someone I recruited at a regular bar. They tend to be 40-$100 customers.
Now, "official club promotions" with a bouncer and the club limo...it's usually a different story. They take the customers back to the club and go straight to VIP. Daisy Delfina did that often with Sapphires, it was a win/win for her because it also helped her build social capital with the club staff.
Ummmmmmm - WTF????? As I read it, she was planning on going out to a bar, and handing out passes to a club for interested men....this isn't a false pretense! And in what world is a promo pass for a club the same as a BJ???? I think you might need to consider what it is that she is suggesting, and wrap your head around it. She is NOT suggesting trying to get men to pay her for time or sell dances in a BAR, she is just promoting the club! ::) Geez...eejit.
ANYWAY - I think that doing that in a pair or a group would be a great idea!! As is social networking online. The other thing that I do is go to the Taboo show - its a exhibition/show/convention twice a year for sex stuff - sex shops, lingerie lines, swingers clubs, burlesque performers, boudoir photography etc. I work a booth for a friend, and we also hand out passes and info about the club.

My bosses took me and 2 other girls for a night out in a city an hour from here (we're in a town not a city) and took us to a bar and 2 clubs so we could entice people there to come to our town and visit the club. No handing out flyers, just telling them that its a really good night and we'd love for them to visit.
Our first night open for the winter and we had 3 groups of guys from there come up to see us. Also one of the bar ownerswe met there said he'll be up with 40 guys on a business trip on the 20th. Fingers crossed (I'm definitely working that night!!)
I dont do it because I travel and work but I see sooo many guys at the airport that I know if I got th a em in the club I could make alot off of. Doing this so many years I will be at th airport sizing everyone up. My cousin and I when we travled together and would wait for are bags would be like that guys good for 1000 that guy 200 and so on it was funny but I do wish I had cards and could hand them out to guys I think would be big spenders. I dont see anything wrong with promos or doing what athena is doing when I walked down bourbon to work I saw potential big money guys walk by in suits but was to scared to say anything. Next time I come athena I will do some promoting with you will just have to think up a good plan on how to go about it.
I've done online ads ( cl / bp ) and they have been ... Meh.
I've made a little from my ads but the guys tend to just be curious and buy a dance or two. Rarely found > $100 potential ( actually just one time I think ? ) but hell ... It all helps.
In my ads I put my schedule and just say I'm new to the area ect.

You might as well sell blow jobs in the back alley. I've read alot of your posts on here and this one is the most disgusting one so far.
Oh hell fucking no! >:( I didn't even notice this shit. How dare you insult someone who is not only a friend of mine, but who has a hell of a lot more success in this industry than your pathetic ass? Go fuck yourself. She makes more in one hour than you have made in your pathetic lifetime.
I don't think you'd get in trouble at all for throwing a free pass their way. Lol. I was thinking about using your method too .... just stopping in a local bar all done up for work and mentioning that I'm going a whole three buildings away to go strip. I imagine it would work but I haven't tried it yet. I was *going to* do this in San Francisco when I was working there . There are just so many nice hotel lobbys to hit - traveling businessmen are such good customers. ;)
I think this is a great idea! I do think once guys find out you're a stripper though that sometimes they can get the wrong idea, or get a little too excited though, so I would go with a buddy, just to be safe, also I think it would be more fun! maybe around happy hour and then go into work for the night shift. OR go out one night promoing and make sure to go in to work the next night.
Are you brand new to this industry? Handing out passes for club entrance is VERY common. Clubs often take groups of girls to do this at one time & pre-arrange with the bars/clubs/events.
Athena, I have posted about this in my blog at:

Basically in most cities you can not approach people in a private venue with the direct intent to promote services without the other person either initiating contact or without the venue owner's permission. In my blog I talk about how I work around that by either waiting for a guy to flirt with me or ask to meet me. Otherwise, talk to your club to see if they are interested in doing promotional work. If they are, think of where you would want to promote & have them contact those places to arrange times. Usually there is some sort of exchange, like the stripclub will comp the bar owner for part of their tab or champagne room. Once that is arranged the strip club generally will have a small group of girls & a club bouncer transported to the bar to hang out & schmooze customers for a few hours. This might be on a night when you don't work but its better if you can schmooze early & then go into the club because a lot of times the guys from the bar will want to see you that very night. Also, the girls don't generally get compensated for this, but sometimes the nice clubs will knock off part or all of their house fee for a night of work.
I actually was a marketing assistant for Deja Vu of SF when I lived there, which often included the schmoozing at bars/clubs. I really loved it, particularly since I was new to the city & at the time not yet 21. The marketing director was taking me into all the snazzy 21+ places (no questions asked - straight to the front of the lines)... including some of the very ritzy places at the time like Harry Denton's Starlight Room. At the time the Starlight Room was very upscale, men went there basically to find high end sugar babies, mistresses, or to relax while enjoying a cigar & nice wine. I'm not sure how it is now, but back then it was pretty much the equivalent of what the Playboy Clubs once were.
