I always got the sense that, from a purely business point of view, strip club managers are less competent in running a business than their peers running regular night clubs for example. It made sense that perhaps running a strip club would not be the first career choice for a Harvard MBA if you know what I mean.
Then a couple of days ago in a blog by a former strip club manager, the guy talked about his peers in very unflattering terms:
He goes on to list 25 things that managers need to heed, and in the areas that I can relate to as a customer, he was spot on.Quote:
I gave some tips here to dancers about how to earn more money. I got a number of messages asking me to make up a similar list for managers of clubs.
This will probably be a waste of time because most club managers I have met think they know how to run their clubs and can't learn anything. I have always been amazed how so many of them do not realize that they are in a service business that depends on pleasing customers.
There is a general perception that business in strip clubs has been going downhill for a while, and the economy is probably the biggest culprit. However, I feel that club managers have made a bad situation worse by ignoring whether a cusomer has fun in their club or not. That minor detail :D
