They look like screenshots of the latest fallout game.
Those places look like they were wrecked long before the latest recession.
None of those are ruins because the the recession of the last five years. That is the result of the decline of our manufacturing base. Those car plants, steel mills, and all of the manufacturing along with the well paid middle class single income jobs went overseas because of new labor and environmental laws. The costs to do business in an international economy became to great.
The Libraries sadden me the most. Books and the access to the collective knowledge of civilization would be doing more to uplift so many out of poverty.
I haven't seen anything like that locally. If I had, you bet I'd be the first one going to get a permit to photograph inside!
Saddest city I've ever seen. And I've been to Calcutta. Drove through downtown and the skyscrapers looked like they wanted to fall.
Umm... ya don't need a permit. The only people who are gonna care are the folks who are living there- and I'm sure that there are folks living there. A libraries a big pile of fuel and Detroit winters are COLD.
The folks living there won't care about perits, 'cept as it'll make them giggle.
