I started dancing when I was 15 in El Paso TX :-p Good luck! Just don't get sucked up in all the bullshit. Do porn if you want! Do what makes you happy!
Just remember this job isn't all glam and Dom Perignon. You will have shitty nights, you will have to deal with nasty old men who jizz in their sweatpants, getting propositioned for oral sex for $100, dealing with haters, thieves, liars, drug addicts, etc.
However, this job has its perks. I can travel to wherever the fuck I please. I'm sick right now but I'm laying in bed sipping hot coco watching Young Guns and missing home terribly. (I'm from New Mexico) I'm not worrying about getting fired from my 9-5 gig. I'm going back to school in August.
I met the love of my life because of this job.
Just remember it's a job like any other at the end of the day. Make sure you control this job.
Wow 15! Awesome. Thanks for the welcome.
Welcome around! Strip clubs can be a great place to work and the flexibility and fast cash (usually) can open a lot of other doors for you as well. Just make sure you have a back up plan and save your money as you can't dance forever. :)
Welcome.. I started when I was 18. The club was wary to hire due to the drinking age. It was great at first now its a job - not as easy as people make it up to be either. Honestly, I know the attention is great.. but dont do anything you arent going to be comfortable with.
On nights when I'm eating a hot chicks pussy I remember why I like this job :D I get to hang out and screw hot chicks }:D
Welcome!
I agree with Tempest about not getting sucked into the glamor of the job. We may look and act glamorous, but there's a lot more to stripping than looking pretty and flirting. It's actually a lot of work to look perfect all the time, and it costs money to maintain your appearance. Skincare, makeup, stripper shoes and clothes, tanning (if you do it), hair...and none of that should be cheap shit from a drug store.
Then you should definitely consider what you're going to do about your income...ANYTHING that goes through a bank account must be accounted for on your taxes. And don't spend it all...PLEASE GOD don't spend it all. We've all made that mistake. You look back over the years, and you KNOW how much money you made, but you can't quite figure out where it all went.
And never, ever forget...as glamorous and fun as this job is, it is STILL your job, and possibly your career. Take it seriously. Be on time, follow the rules, keep your integrity. Don't turn into a diva, and don't treat the bartenders and bouncers and waitresses and DJ's like shit. Don't try to screw over your customers, and don't get begin to feel entitled to all your money. Don't get involved with drama with the other dancers; and there WILL be drama. Always be professional.
Let us know how your experience with checking out the clubs goes. There's a Club and Reviews section on the menu at the top of this forum, and you can probably find some useful information from both dancers and customers for all of your local clubs.
Good luck!
Thanks Firemaiden!
On the skincare part listen to FM cause I'm a bad bad veteran stripper. I use shit from the dollar general and I don't tan. I wish I was pale so I go to extreme lengths to avoid sun. I wear SPF 100 sunblock even in winter.
I get cheap ass extensions from hot topic. They are actually pretty durable and can be styled.
My nails...same shit I've been doing for 15 years.... glooping on black nail polish.
Hairdye..2.97 at wal mart
The only thing I am an addict is my clothes... Just blew $300 on Snaz75 (DO NOT SHOP THERE THEY ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS NOT WORTH IT TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS)
I'm not bad with my money. I try and get guys to buy me as much as I can get :) lol
but yea, shopping is my weakness.
^^^^^^^^ you get outfits already?
Not really any dancing outfits. I went to this store with my friend yesterday and they sold stripper type outfits. I saw some I'm probably going to go back and buy. But I did some buy g strings and thongs specifically for dancing.
can't wait to get my first heels though!!!
ughhhh first set of heels like a fucking bicycle. You may fall your first couple of times. Don't try anything fancy of skyscaper heels. But make sure you get proper stripper heels and not Fashion bug or payless pumps. Besides screaming "newbie" they will kill your feet and you'll be crying. I've seen so many newbies limping away at the end of the night. You don't have to have anything too crazy. Get black or clear and that should take care of all of your shoe needs. I don't wear clear cause my feet sweat like a hooker in church.
Wait till you graduate from high school. Unless you just work on weekends! Also try not to tell to many people at school. Last thing you need are counselors calling you into their office telling you how to live your life or little high school boys messing with you at work.
Also you should really try starting College. MY BEST ADVICE TO YOU IS TO... CLEP out of as many classes as you can. Google the CLEP test and get the info about it.
Oh camming? I was a cam girl for a bit. Good money but I hear stripping makes way more. When I start dancing I might tie in camming with it. Probably use camming funds as the money i just play around with.
Oh, fuck..... one more thing. Take em home and practice walking. You need to break those fuckers in. New stripper shoes are like virgin pussy. You can't just ram it in and expect everything to run smoothly.
I just bought some stripper shoes to prepare for practicing and auditions >.> and I've never worn heels until recently. I'm scared I'll snap my ankles lol! They're 6 inchers, I'm too afraid to get to 7 after a stripper let me try hers on
Welcomes! This place is amazing if you want to learn aaaall about dancing and everything that goes with it! i found it about a month or so before i started and it was such a massive help!
I wish id started at 18, my sister did and she loves it, i was 22! Definelty practice in the heels and peruse dance wear sites to see whats available. Check out the clubs you want to try and GOOD LUCK CHICK!!
xxx
I'll say it again: Snaz75 can shit in a hat and wear it. I wanted to save a few bucks so I went with them... it's a pain in the arse. This time around they forgot to ship my shoes.
Check out the other threads for advice on clothes, lthough for a 1st pair of stripper shoes I would advise against buying online. You don't want to get the wrong size or have them not fit well.
After you find a pair you like then buy online to your heart's content.
For makeup have you ever heard of ELF cosmetics. I bought 61 items from them for 40 dollars. But like snaz75 they forget to put things in the box when they send it to you.
