18%???? Really SM Studio???
So I made friends with another model on SM and I dont know if that was a good or bad thing, but I found out she makes 35% to my little 18%. I am so unmotivated now its not even funny! I dread getting online. I was sick to hear what she is making....we even compared minutes. I do more minutes a week than she does and I am getting around $500-1000 less than she makes a week.
I'm stuck with this studio and don't know what to do. When I mentioned I wanted to increase my % to my studio, they just told me to disable my exclusive to force more pvts or recruit for them to get bonuses. Really??? So they can get raped with no lube? No...I can't do that to them.
They also offer the worst support!!! It takes them days to respond *if that*.
I hate studios!!!!!! I really like SM a lot...love everything about it...except for the % I'm getting and the studio I work for. :(
I've spent the weekend in bed reading the posts in this group....can't thank you ladies enough for your insite.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
That shit should be ILLEGAL!
18 percent for doing ADULT ENTERTAINMENT.
Thats fucking bullshit!
-
Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
I hate that! It shouldn't be allowed unless you are using their equipment and working in-house for them and they are constantly promoting you, and even then that's a ridiculously low percentage.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
Oh dear! I'm so sorry to hear this.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is any easy answer. You should ask the studio to close your account right away. But, you might not be able to make a new SM account for a while (probably months and months, maybe a year). Obviously, the quicker you get the account closed, the sooner the block out period will end.
Once you've closed your account with the studio, start emailing SM support explaining your situation. Tell them you didn't realise you were signing up through a studio (even if you did) and ask them to allow you to open a new account. Email them every week.
Then, get straight on to other sites and start building up your earnings. I know SM has great traffic compared with other sites, but if you are only getting 18% right now then I should imagine you won't have a hard time making the same $ per hour on other sites.
Sign up to
cams.com (streamray)
webcams.com
imlive (there are a lot of bad things about imlive but you will make money while you wait for SM)
AdultWork
ifriends (I still love ifriends)
and an indy site (such as realgirlsoncam)
split cam two of the big sites if you can (cams, webcams and imlive are all easy to split as you can log in/out easily or set room to private)
sign up to mfc also and put in a couple of hours - see if it works for you.
At least this way you won't be losing money while you are waiting for SM to sort out your account (and you could be waiting a while) and once you do have a new SM account, you will be earning very close to double what you are now!
Good luck :)

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
Yeah I would stop working for that studio effective immediately! 18%????? Omg. Please spend some time signing up for as many sites as you can today.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
I don't understand why you can't quit the studio and sign up for streamate independently?
-
Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
Normally the studio has a contract with the performer stating that the performer will not be able to join SM independently for a period of time after closing their studio account. SM is heavily studio orientated and will uphold those agreements.
-
Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
I would find their address and stand on their toes (holding myself back here)..
Try what Becky said. If SM 100% wont let you sign back up at all them PM me here and I will try to process your application for you under the daily pay service. This is only recommended if you really love SM and accept the service offered.

Thanks for explaining. Man that really sucks. Didn't know thats how things were with studios. Of course I figured the model cut must be low if the studio gets 35% like the rest of it.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
Streamate sucks. I asked about closing my account, and checked my email for a response. No response, but when I logged on to streamate I notice my account is closed, but my profile is still up, and they didn't even let me know about the remaining balance in my account.
About a month ago I emailed them about the 1 week delay, and they didn't even have the decency to email me back a response. I really would like my profile taken down, and to get the rest of my money. Has anyone here had any experience with this situation? Please let me know. I honestly don't even care that much about the money because it's so low. I just want my pics and profile taken down. I don't care what anyone has to say positive about them. They have not been very professional with me, and I didn't do anything wrong.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
I posted about this a while ago. I quit Internet Modeling (a studio of Streamate) who was only paying 20%, hoping to sign up with Streamate immediately. That's when I was informed that you have to wait ONE YEAR from your last performance date on Internet Modeling in order to work on Streamate. Even when I contacted Streamate about the issue, they said it's true...I have to go by what Internet Modeling has told me.
So yeah, in the meantime, I'd say to check out other cam sites that will pay you better than this. Sitting in mandatory free video chat on a cam site and only making 20% SUCKS ASS. There are better paying sites out there, like AdultWork, where you get paid MUCH better and don't HAVE to do free video chat. AND you can sell pics/vids, etc.

My original account had the 3 week delay and no matter how many times i emailed them they never updated it to 1 week. I requested it closed and opened a new account. Before I could get on my old account and email everyone my new performer name SM closed my acct. I had a few checks owed to me from the 3 week delay, those came in 1 check all lumped together. My new account was set up as 1 week delay automatically and it's been trouble-free since :)
I would email support and ask what's up with your back-pay. That should have been sent the week after the pay period ends...I would email them about your profile as well, mine was removed completely after they closed it. I'm going through the same BS with naked, they closed my account after not being active for so long but if i search my name, my profile's still on there. very annoying to say the least

What do you mean 1 week delay? You get your earning the next week?

Glad to know I am not the only one they were being douchebags to. I emailed them numerous times about the 1 week delay. They wouldn't even write me back. I find them to be extremely unprofessional and inconsistent. There are x amount of models who say they get a 1 week delay, and others who get 3 weeks delay.
I will not be taking the time to reapply with them. I can't work for a company that may or may not treat me the same as the other models, and ignore all my emails.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
i emailed them bothfrom my site on sm and my couples page they responded within a day everytime idont know why they didnt respond bk to some thats dumb and i started 3 weeks ago and never was on a delay tell them to take you off

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
I wrote to them and nicely asked if I could be switched to "no delay pay" and they changed it for me right away and wrote me back that same day.
Weird they ignore some others.

So did you get all your back pay in one lump sum? I just emailed them to be switched. Hopefully I'm one of the lucky few they write back. Lol. I could really use all that back pay right about now.

No. Say if you wrote them and they changed it today the money you make this week would be up for no delay next week once they send our checks out on Wednesday. Your previous checks have already been sent out with delay and I don't think they could change that at this point.

Yes, with my new account when the pay period ends on Saturday I am sent a check that following Wednesday. My first check was on that time frame and every check thereafter. Emailing them to update my current account did absolutely nothing except frustration...

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
They emailed me back and put me on no delay. That is so awesome. Thanks for letting me know about it. I'm going to have to tell my friend too.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
A million thanks to you ladies for all of your help! I was told that you are indefinitely with the studio when you sign up. I will check with Streamate and see if this is true.
I LOVE Streamate...but it looks like I am going to have to work on some other sites until I gt this all squared away. I have been on there a few months, so I don't think I can claim ignorance...lol...but I am thinking of a couple other avenues. I will let you all know how it goes.

Re: 18%???? Really SM Studio???
GIRL I FEEL YOU! i started with a studio making the same 18%
get yourself set up at home, cancel the old account, and make your own!
thats what I did..
my best friend is still working with the studio making 18%
we're in vegas and they had a booth at AVN, where they passed out flyers and promoted her show and she STILL didnt get any traffic.. i made twice as much in half the time..
ITS SAD!
