life just a bunch of random events where some people are just more lucky/unlucky than others
I was just thinking about that yesterday... !
I truely dont know and want to believe.. everything does happen for a reason, everything can't be good, so we do have our unlucky times.
I have a few examples... my auntie left us. My parents told me 2 weeks AFTER. That week that it happened, I had a strong urge to go to Chruch, I never go, nor am I religious... but I just needed to go. I only been there twice in my life, my 2nd time there, I donated them 2x (as they arent support by the Gov't or have help- Orthodox) I also stayed there twice as long -then 2 weeks later my parents told me.
My ex/bf was driving this week, and if he was 5 seconds behind in time, a car would have hit him. He stopped at a red light, to turn right, he goes as there is no cars, 5 seconds later a car lost control on that lane and crashed.
Whenever unlucky stuff happens to me.. I always think they are for a reason.. to either help in a way, or to let know its the wrong path etc. Dont confuse that with just a generally bad day to bigger things.. We always have bad days where things just happen or we wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Sorry this is long
I like to believe everything happens for a reason.
Just it seems that sometimes, that reason seems to take longer to find out.
Other times, I feel like some people are just more unlucky. I have had my unlucky times, but when I look back at all the stupid choices I've made, it's a wonder I'm still alive. I'm definitely lucky...despite all the bad stuff that has happened in my past.
My family has always said that we have the best bad luck..lol
I really want to believe everything happens for a reason, but when I see kids suffering, or being hurt...wtf reason could that be for??
I believe things happen due to random chance, not by destiny.
If you cancel a flight and that plane ends up having technical problems, that's just chance... not a miracle.
^^^Yes!
"There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so". ~ William Shakespeare
I think some things happen for a reason, but there's a lot of stuff that's just random chance. If everything had a reason, so many bad things wouldn't happen to good people. But I do think there are higher powers or other powers at work sometimes.
Some happens by chance and another happens for a reasn. For instance I've been struggling with this terrible heartbreak. I was so mad that once again I got my heart broken but maybe it's because someone better is out there. Also, I started back to church last year. I am making my confirmation. Is there a reason for this? Perhaps. Because of this class I found out about a singles group a half hour away that has single men my age.
I make my own luck.
Karma ! Rule of ( times ) Three !
The latter. Life can be pretty random. To a degree, we can make our own luck, but there are some things that happen by chance. The only rule is that no-one's life is free of suffering.
I cannot commit to one idea or the other. One minute I'm superstitious, next minute I'm like "shit happens." So in the end, maybe it really is "by chance" that events happen. There's also the arguement of whether you're "blessed" or "lucky."
I've found that things I might "knee jerk" think are bad when they happen, often turn out to be good/blessings. All it takes is some time to pass to see the consequences. What is bad one day, can be ok after a week, a good thing after a month, and the best thing that ever happened after a year. I'm reluctant to label everything good or bad. I prefer to wait and see...it feels better that way too.
Things happen for a reason; because that molecule bumped into that other molecule, etc.
But of course that isn't really what you are asking; at the level we can perceive and understand, life is just a bunch of random events where some people are just more lucky/unlucky than others.
Yes. For instance I know people who lost jobs, then found better ones. Same thing with relationships. At the time it's heartbreaking but sometimes it's worth it. I know I cry often about my failed last relationship, but in hindsight I'm sure I'll find a better guy and realize it was a blessing.
No, I don't believe things happen for a reason, that's just something I say to people when I am trying to make them feel better about something bad that has happened.
Life is a series of random events. No one is any luckier than anyone else, except as to what station in life you were born in to. After that, you make your luck. Work hard, make good choices, and GENERALLY good things will happen to you.
I think that we all have the experiences that we need, not the ones that we want. Pleasant or unpleasant is pretty moot- you're being offered an opportunity to learn something.
I also believe that we wear this mortal veil more than once, and we all experience every possible situation in every possible role before we're done.
It's helpful- When shit blows up, I don't find myself thinking " Why me?", but instead " OK, what's the lesson here?".
I'd like to but then when I think about incest, rape, murder, and torture, I dont like to think that all of those things could happen for a reason. The Holocaust for example.
I tend to believe everything happens for a reason. I've seen a lot of situations in my life that have turned out for the better due to how and when they happened. Though I guess if things turned out differently I'd say those things happened for a reason too. So who knows.
Seems like a lot of the time it does. But you're also trying to make the best out of situations too.
I'll let you know as soon as I find a legitimate reason... We always find ways to justify something awful in order to make ourselves feel better, even if it means using a cliché statement such as this one.
Some people are given an 8 pack of crayons, others a 16 pack of crayons... but it's all what you do with the colors that matter.
In other words, good and bad happens to us all. How you react to it will be your reality. If you lost your house, for instance, and you believe it happened for a reason... then it did happen for a reason! Ultimately reality is what YOU believe it to be.
