Re: Privacy about your "job"
I told my best friend but that's it. I don't plan on anyone in my family finding out. The only one I might feel comfortable telling is my sister.
According to everybody I'm just a freelance article writer, which I still do a bit of every now and then. It's pretty easy to stay private when everyone I know is already familiar with the fact that I work at home on my computer.
Re: Privacy about your "job"
I'm a stay at home mom, so no one ever questions what I do. =) I sell cosmetics also, so I can use that as my cover when I get my other location all set up.
Re: Privacy about your "job"
My college-age daughter works for a telemarketing service and I used to work for a transcription service from home so we both had offices in our house. As far as anyone else's business I still do (and I actually still type a few things on the side). There are loads of people working from a home office.
Why should I tell my business to others who don't need to know?
Tell your kids that you are working in marketing andyou need to close your door for a while (and you ARE working in marketing) if they are old enough to cooperate. My kids loved having me home so they were happy to do it.
Re: Privacy about your "job"
I'm 21, but don't have any reason to hide it, so I don't. My parents don't know mostly because we don't really talk, but I told my dad I can't talk about it because I signed a NonDisclosure Agreement.
My friends know, but I tend to hang with a pretty sex-positive crowd
Re: Privacy about your "job"
I wasn't looking to broadcast it. I just wanted to know how everyone handles family/kiddos or if they have been "found out". =) I was going to try working while they are home, but I am a tad bit loud. Should be better since I have a new mic.
Thanks for the feedback ladies.
