what makes stage presence?
you ever watched someone (like a dancer, or any performer) who were so at ease and at one with their art form that they it was the coolest most beautiful thing?
Where does that come from? Its not from tips like "imagine the audience naked" or "always look above peoples eyes" etc ... its like magic or something. stage magic. I know this is Hustle Hut, but I think this topic fits...
I want to flow like that. It comes from a calm place I think.
I've noticed that it is really fun to dance reaaaallllly slow to really fast thumpy music. Thats an interesting visual/aural effect. So ... I'm ok at some forms of performance art. I have gotten better and better with isolating muscles and moving with precision through stuff like bellydance, yoga, hula hooping, running even, singing and playing guitar at the same time, but I totally lack confidence physically. Not mentally ... wait it must be or it wouldn't look like I move without confidence. Stripping to me was a challenge because of that, albeit one that I liked for the same reason because I'm trying to evolve here.
Thoughts?
Also, what do you girls do as a practice for your dancer body? Yoga, breathing, dancing at home, gym...
God I can't stand exercise machines.
Digressed sorry, thoughts?
Re: what makes stage presence?
I think it comes from knowing the audience loves you and wanting to give them a good show. There's a line in the movie Black Swan where the ballet director says "Seduce us... make us fall in love..." and it's great advice for captivating any audience (especially in the club). Aside from feeling really sexy and confident on the inside, you might also have to practice in the mirror or record videos of yourself to see how you look. If you're doing well, it will probably be a huge ego boost. I do this all the time, and it's super helpful to watch yourself from the audience's perspective.
For exercise I looove doing the elliptical. :D It's an exercise machine so you might not like it, lol, but it's good cardio and it's very low impact.

Being relaxed on stage. Having fun up there. Interacting with customers through eye contact or smiles. Confidence. I don't do many tricks, but I always hear customers say "I really enjoyed you on stage. You look like you're having so much fun/so confident/so at ease." If you give off the vibe that you're comfortable and know you're hot, it always looks good.

RYTHEM it all comes down to rythem. anyone with enough courage & cajones can get on stage and dance. But only a rare few have rythem, the grace and fluid movement is called Poetry In Motion. It comes from confidence, you know you look beautiful, all eyes on you, this is what you want, its your time to shine.
girls in the past have told me, "you get so into it when your on stage" "wow! all eyes on you when your on stage"
when im into it, i dont look at the ppl sitting at the stage, i look into the crowd or at myself, but not in the mirrors, down at my body. and i rarely collect tips (unless i see them get up to tip me or really trying to get my attention) - when i do collect a tip on stage i tell him i will come dance for him when i get down so i know i have money ready, and thats where the money is made, doing dances. its not about a dollar here and there on stage, its about showcasing your talent and getting people to notice you so they will want to dance when your done.
be graceful, sexy, fluid movement... beautiful hair & makeup, a new badass outfit, new shoes!, and a few drinks usually contribute to a great stage set, LOL... goodluck hun :queen:
ps. a song you really like will put you in the mood too, dance your ass off

Stage Presence- The ability to captivate the audience and draw them into your performance. Making everyone in the room feel as though you are performing just for them. Eye contact, smiling, grace and confidence= stage presence
Re: what makes stage presence?
I always get great feedback from my stage show because the audience can see that I enjoy performing. I usually make eye contact and have a naughty glint in my eyes, but having music that I know well and feel sexy with helps too.
I think it helps sometimes to get into the right mindframe, to get that naughty look, if I think about sex. If I'm imagining hot, steamy, raunchy sex, then I feel like a complete sexbomb and it comes across well on stage.
Re: what makes stage presence?
The trick is to genuinely love being on stage. Command attention and know that you're the most exciting beauty in the room.
Stage presence is a state of mind that manifests. (Into confidence, eye contact, style, etc)

This. I get told very often that I have a great stage presence, and I don't do anything fancy up there - no tricks or intense moves, just pretty basic stuff. But I make killer eye contact with everyone in the club at different points and shoot little smiles here and there. This is why I hate going on stage in an empty-ish club - I feel like it's a wasted opportunity since I always sell dances immediately after getting of stage when there's at least a handful of people to perform for.
