Lap Dances have to be paid first
So I'm about to start my first night at my club. There are so many great tips in here for getting the guys to buy many dances in a row and I'm excited to try some of them.
My only worry is that at the club I'm starting at you HAVE to get the money up front, before you dance. I feel like this is really going to make it harder when I have to say "by the way, I need the money now." ugh. way to kill the mood, right?
any suggestions on how to make that transition as smooth as possible??
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
" It's my first night so they recommend that I get each dance up front .... is this ok ? "
FYI : It's not my first night and I still get the money up front 90% of the time! You don't want to get stuck if someone bails.
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
If this is standard practice for the club, many of the customers will already be trained to pay first. I've worked at a club with this policy. Customers did not take offense, and once you are comfortable with a customer you can start stacking dances to pay after. Just know that it is at your own risk, because management uses this policy so they don't have to enforce payment when customers try to stiff you. As such, never stack more than 5 dances before getting paid, or 3 dances with a new customer.
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
Most cubs in my area do the same thing, I like it because that way I can get my cash upfront and blame it on the club...you know like "I trust you, but you know, club rules..." that way I get my money upfront without looking like "greedy" or like a scammer. ;)
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
We have a ticket system in my club, so I ALWAYS have to be paid first. But its easy enough to say to them at the ticket desk 'So lets get a double/triple so I can slow down and stay naked longer?'
If after the dance/dances the customer wants more I tell him 'Okay babe, well I can get dressed and come with you and you can pop around the corner and get 2 more tickets while I stay naked for you here.' or 'You know, if we take a champagne room for half an hour we won't have to stop again like in here'.
I think it makes the upsell easier.
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
Thanks, yeah the one time last night I told a guy I needed to get the money up front, the customer told me I was wrong! ugh. He said, "No - you can pay after the dance..." whatever. The owner had just told me this and she was sitting near by - such a pain. The guy still bought 4 dances from me - he only paid for the first one up front. After that I wasn't asking for it up front anymore...maybe I'll get used to it later but it just felt so awkward and I noticed the other girls don't do it either. I know the rule is in place to protect me more than anything. Maybe it'll take someone not paying for me to grow a pair and get bossy!
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
a lot of clubs have that rule, because the bouncers can't do anything to get your money. they can ask the guy, but they can't touch him without it risking a lawsuit for the club.
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
There's a couple other threads on here about this, so I won't repeat everything I've said before, BUT:
- Usually the only guys that will have a problem are the guys that will be assholes/grabby/want extra/give you a hard time...the nice guys will always do so without issue.
- I always get my money up front unless they are a regular
- This lets you peek in their wallet and see how much more is floating around in there!
- I usually say "while we wait for the next song to start, lets get the boring money bit out of the way"...as long as you are cute and smiley while asking, its not a problem. (and personally, I wouldn't say "I need"...but thats me)
- If a guy argues, just say something to the effect of having been burned before, or that you are sure that they will pay, you just like to get it out of the way first. If they really argue, I would be really reticent about dancing - why is he refusing?
- Occasionally you will get an awesome moment where a guy is drunk, and forgets he paid you before. Then he'll pay you after too....helloooo $60 tip!
- After they have paid for one, I will stack in groups of three, or maybe four songs before collecting again.
Good luck!
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
Thanks, yeah - it's just awkward - I'll get better. And you're right I shouldn't have said "I need."
Man, I'm just not used to having to watch everything I'm doing like that. The way I say everything makes a difference - my posture and my eye contact - if I fidget...if I tell a joke - am I witty?
You ladies on this site are so helpful yet it's so much...it's a lot to have to pay attention to every little nuance about yourself. I'm such a relaxed go-with-the-flow girl normally, I'm not used to it. What a tough job this is, I always thought the nudity would be the hard part, that's easy!! The rest of it is the challenge.
I will try not to say "I need" anymore...it was just my first night and the first time I'd had to ask for money...your way is so much cuter! I have so much to learn!! ::)
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
At my home club it isn't required to get the money up front, but I've worked at clubs in NOLA where you have to put the money into a machine to start giving the dance. At my home club it is 'strongly recommended' to get the money upfront, as it should be at any sensible strip club.
If the guy is a regular then I don't care about getting $20 upfront, but even if he is a regular I do get the money upfront for a VIP room.
What I say is "welcome to my office" (pointing to lap dance booth), and then "it will be $20 please, and tips are appreciated". Usually they will just hand me the money, but sometimes they say "oh, upfront?" and I say "yes, the club requires us to get it upfront". If they have an issue with paying you upfront then they can get up and walk out before the dance starts, but I've never had that happen.
If they do get up and walk away beforehand then they were probably going to stiff you anyway. Another benefit of this is that I can see how much money they have and that way I don't have to keep stopping to collect more money for any subsequent dances because I know 'the money is there'.
To be honest, I could give a shit less if me getting my money upfront makes me look 'money hungry'. I'm at work and they are a customer, you don't buy a t-shirt, wear it, and then pay for it. I'm not willing to risk losing out on money to make you feel like I want to be your girlfriend.
Enough said!
Re: Lap Dances have to be paid first
do you need to get the money up front for EVERY dance or just the first one?
