AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
how do you correctly sign up for alertpay..
im sick of these Indy sites. Im not in the mood to break bread with sites that never bring me any traffic. I get my own customers so i want my own money. I'm okay with breaking some off to a payment processor, cause I control my RULES & Regulations on MY site.
How much does alertpay take?
I had an account back in 09, really dont remember all this though

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
If you have a Business account, they take 4.90% + $0.25 USD to accept funds by credit card and 2.50 % + $0.25 USD to receive funds from someone's account... and then 50 cents for each bank transfer. Slightly higher than PayPal, but worth it for the ability to hide your real name and no risk of being shut down at any second.
Opening a Business account is free and it's the only account where you have the ability to hide your real name and put in your alias. If you live in the U.S. you don't need to go through a lot of BS to get verified... talk to them on the phone, verify two micro-deposits that they send to your checking account or CC/Debit Card and that's pretty much it.
You can also get money for referring guys to it, so send them payment requests by email and get them to sign up for free accounts. The more guys you get to sign up, the more money you make. Ya dig?

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
https://helpdesk.alertpay.com/index....barticleid=241
I told them I was an independent contractor and do not have any paperwork so I didn't have to submit anything. Give them a call at their help desk and tell them that (that's all I had to do). You only need it if you have an actual physical business.
If you live in the US (which I know you do, CamWhore)...
You will have to complete TWO of the following:
Bank Account Confirmation
Credit Card Validation
Phone Validation (landlines and mobile phones only)
They are also TOTALLY cool with adult entertainment, so if they ask you what you do as a contractor (they probably won't ask, but just in case) you can just tell them you're an online adult entertainer. They'll get it.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
They changed all their verification processes recently I think. Right in the middle of when I did mine. All I had to do was check a box saying "I don't have any paperwork" for the tax documents and it was fine.
I had to do a bank account confirmation and a credit check to verify my account, but that's for Canadians I think.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
I got my account in the end of December, I believe. I'm not sure when you got yours, MissEgo. I do know that it can speed along the process if you call them and verify yourself over the phone, and ask all of the questions then. They can help you out.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
Can you get it to accept credit cards?? I put some of the "buy now" buttons on my site, and clicked through them to see what it looks like for guys. It takes them to a checkout on AlertPay, but says "this seller does not accept credit cards at this time" and I don't know how to change that (or even if I can).

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
I think the other thread answered that pretty well but just in case someone happens on this - use the Email Invoice rather than a payment request or a button, and they should be able to use their credit card to pay without joining.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
i signed up with alertpay and thought maybe it was a waste of time...i'm glad to see it is a legit payment processor for adult-oriented businesses. the thing that bothered me most about it, i think, was that there wasn't a very good list of vendors that accepted it. now that i realize what most people are probably using it for, it's obvious why there is no big list of merchants...
to the op - camwhore - that rocks, good for you. i have been following the rants & raves of cammers here for a while now and it seems like those big sites are such a scam. kinda like the industry is stuck on standard pimp-mode, the house always takes a huge cut from strippers, cam models, etc. what a joke. :( it's not gonna change unless girls take control of their money.

Thanks :) I read this one first and then came across that one.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
I have a question about alert pay...
When you sign up, do you use your REAL name to open the account or a fake one? I opened one a while back, but it uses my real name and I don't want anyone knowing WHO they sent their payment to. Or is there a way to hide it? (i see someone mentionned that above). Won't they still see my email address though since they need that to send it to? I'm mostly referring to using a Personal Pro account.
Or is there some way to sign up with a fake name, but only use your real name when you need to transfer money to a bank account?
I hope I'm making sense. Thanks.

No there isn't. If you want to protect your real name you should get a business account. You can name your business account something like KK llc... etc

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
Also, are you all opening business accounts or personal pro ones? Is their an advantage to using one over the other? (hiding real identity)... Not sure if we can only do that with a business one.

Do I need to add "LLC" or can it be something as simple as "Just4Fun"...?

If you're going to do this as a real business. Get a DBA first and yes this would be considered LLC.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
I called Alertpay today and they have a hold/waitlist on processing webcam model payments as a business. If you don't mind giving out your real name to custys, you can probably get by with a personal pro account.
Does anyone use a personal pro account to process payments?

This is dangerous and you are only asking for trouble if you go this route.
These guys are a little creepy. I had one stalk me all year last year. You can't be
too trusting unless you want them knocking at your front door and don't mind.. don't do it.

You are right! I was just curious though. I'd rather sign up for a site that processes the payments, even if I only get 60-70%.

Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
Sorry to bump this thread ladies but I was wondering....
I have an AlertPay business account and I did a "test" request for money by e-mail and when I check out the request e-mail there is no link for them to pay? I don't know what I am doing wrong! <<Noob LOL
Edit: the e-mail does tell them they need to sign up and pay, but still there is no clickable link within the e-mail. I have a verified business account and I thought you could get paid by credit card either way?? So confusing LOL
-
Re: AlertPay | Independent Cam Models
Just give them your email and tell them to send the money to that email. It's like paypal!

I believe you have to do it as an invoice, not a payment request.

I have an Alertpay account. I linked it to my Walmart debit card. You can get the card at Walmart- it's $3 to buy one- not counting your initial deposit, of course.
Linking the accounts was really easy- you just give Alertpay the account number, and they send you two microdeposits. Then you just tell them what the amounts of the deposits were, and you're done! To my knowledge, that way you can have a debit card with your real name on it, but custys won't know your real name. I haven't sold anything through my account, so I'm not 100% that this would work, but it's worth a try at least.
