I just starting watermarking mine.. not the best but i try not to take away from the picture.. dont want my pics floating around without some form of where they came from.. I use photoscape free program love it!
I use photoshop. I have a watermark as a "stamp", and I have it as an action. I only do it in some pictures.
I didn't know I could do it on AW, otherwise I would have been all over that shiz!
picnik.com works well for just tagging photos
gimp --is a great FREEEEE web program that works similar to photoshop
There was a thread on here a few months back on free editing programs-search it!!!
I HIGHLY recommend tagging your photos unless you want your stuff spread on the internet(tumblr a big one lol ) foreverrrrrr seriously I've come across 6 yr old camgirl photos still being posted.
Never underestimate where and how long your photos will be around and may pop up 7 yrs later on some sleezy site. You never know -so it's best to at least lightly(up the opacity or fade) tag your pics or put a logo in the lefthand/righthand .
Taking five minutes(shouldn't take longer than that no matter the program) to tag can save you time and MONEYYYYYYYYY $$$$$$$$
If you don't care about tagging then don't cry 5/7/20 yrs later if your stuff pops up some undesirable place(escort ad? fuckbook?tumblr? or some bimbo using your photos to solicit camshows etcc
TAG TAG TAG or don't ;)
wow that program is great thank you! way easier for me to figure out then gimp and it has some neat features!
im deff going to start watermarking everything. but i dont have my own site. should i link it to my twitter or my blog or just my name? what to do what to do....
my blog and twitter have the same name so i might just use that. thanks!
I watermark mine; I use picnik.com and just put some text with my cam name over my picture. I have a folder on my computer without watermarks and one with.
I never thought about fading it though, maybe I could do that... like how shuttershock or whatever tags their photos, with the faded text across the whole picture. That way it can't be cropped out. Or is that a dumb idea??
No fading isn't dumb :P I think it looks wayyyy better if the tag has transparency to it. On picnik the feature is the fade tool on the text toolbar box-I usually bump mine up to 70%ish percent. And tagging across the whole photo is good because someone would really have to manipulate your photo to get it off . Sometimes if the tag is just on the bottom/top etcc it can easily be cropped out so tag across the whole pic or the majority of the pic I think works best8)
I like the fact that on AdultWork, the photos you upload will automatically say AdultWork. :)
I think putting ___ (cam screen name) of ____(cam site name) at the bottom of the photo is good. If you're on more than one site, you'll just have to go back into your photo editing program (Picasa or whatever is used) and edit it to change the cam site name real quick.
Here's a question for you...
When you edit a photo (crop, brighten, or whatever) and then save it, does the thumbnail on your computer change too, or does it look like the original? Because some of mine change, and some of mine don't. I'd rather have the thumbnail look like the *current* version of my photo... I email pictures to guys all the time, and I'd prefer if they weren't able to see the original (nothing says "unprofessional" like shit lighting and your dog in the background). Is there a way to change my thumbnails???
I use photoscape.
I watermark because alot of people steal my pics for promo material for other sites. >:( Grrrr.
Also , Because im an indy cammer so if someone did steal and repost, I'd get traffic or a sale on my site.
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, because that's happened to me too, and it's annoying. For example, I'll scan something to my computer and the thumbnail pic will show that it needs to be rotated clockwise. So I rotate it, but then when I look at the thumbnail pic again, it's showing like it was never rotated. It hasn't really done it lately, though.
Yep, picnik and a pc. My bf suggested saving it as a different file name, instead of saving over the original, which helped for about half of them, but the rest are still doing it!
