mini rant/ getting out my fears
Grrrrrr i'm so scared to try this>:( I know i can do it but I am so scared of rejection and not getting hired. So far I have bought everything I needed but I feel Like I am not pretty enough and if I get shot down I will just cry. Plus it's sooooooo much work to get to these clubs. I have no car at all so I would to take a train and bus another>:(. so if I get rejected all of that for no reason.
But I NEED the money so if I do get hired and even make 200 a night I will be elated. *sigh* i'm such a scaredy cat. What's wrong with me? maybe I am ugly and fat and I know this so I stop my self *sigh* maybe I could pretend to apply for wanting to be a waitress or bartent then just strip but I feel like I will look stupid casue I have no bartend experince and most clubs that fit me don't have waitresses. again *sigh*
sorry for this but I needed to get it out thanks girls.
now back to reading all the *it doesn't matter when I know it does posts*:(
Re: mini rant/ getting out my fears
Aww don't be scared. The worst thing that can happen is they say no. And don't take as you're not good enough. You may just not be what they're looking for at the moment. I know how you feel. I have done 2 auditions and I got hired but I haven't started yet. I am soooo scared but I so need the money. I'm a thick girl and I'm afraid people will think I'm too fat and go for a smaller girl.
I don't think the fear will just go away the longer we procrastinate. I think we're just gonna have to do it inspite of the fear and then it will eventually become second nature. We are usually our own worst critics so it probably won't be anywhere near as bad as we think it will be.
Read some of the positive threads on here for encouragement. I repeat only the positive ones. If it begins with "I'm so burnt out", "I hate my job" or "money sucks", don't read it lol. It will only discourage you and make you second guess yourself anymore. Good luck Hon. You can do it!
Re: mini rant/ getting out my fears
Try not to worry so much about it, girl! Confidence is key, and if you're a wreck when you go into the club then it's less likely you'll get hired. May I recommend scheduling auditions at several clubs (in order of preference of where you want to work) for one day, so you can do it all in one trip? This way, if you get hired at your first choice there's no need to go to the rest, but if for some reason you don't, you can try out your second favourite club without having to go through the whole bus + train process again another day.
I wouldn't worry about asking to get hired as a bartender or waitress first - it seems like it'd be a waste of your time and that of the club if you intend on starting to dance right away anyway. Just glam yourself up with some nice make up, a great hairdo, and a sexy outfit, and hit up those clubs! You can do it!
Re: mini rant/ getting out my fears
I was the same way when I went to audition 3 years ago.. I was flat as a board and was convinced that it made a difference in hiring..it took me almost a month to get the balls to go and do it.. but like Shanna Dior said, confidence is key. If they think you'll make money, they're more likely to hire you because THEY will make money in turn. And making money isnt all about looks. Its all confidence and how you present yourself.
AND on my first audition i sucked haha. I had ever set foot into a stripclub and I was super nervous and then they had me go on stage. I just stood there and a guy came up and sat down..yeaa i just took the money, thanked him, and went back to hugging the pole. I didnt know you had to dance for people. BUT they hired me. So you never know :)

I will do this the only thing though is all the clubs are opend and audition at different times of the day.
Re: mini rant/ getting out my fears
bring a magazine or something else to keep yourself amused, you can hang out at a coffee shop or something in between auditions, just get it over with, trust me, the worst part is going to the audition, once you're hired, you're golden :)

LOL I was such a pole-hugger too. That, and compulsively just walking around it, like that made it dancing or something. I remember the first time I got on stage, one of the other dancers that I'd got talking to came up to give me my first ever tip. She came over to the stage so I stopped and went over like "ooh hi, dya need to speak to me?" and she was like /:O no I'm showing you how it works with customers... dance!. So I started dancing again and she went to tip me and I thought I owed her, or something involving club fees etc, so I took out my money too (this is all on the main stage) and she was like *face palm* "no I'm tipping you!!!"
Seriously... disaster LOL
But girl, YOU CAN DO THIS!! When I went to my audition I was thinking, I have tiny boobs, I'm ugly, I'm not a barbie... etc and I was shaking like a leaf. But with everything I'd read here, I looked and sounded like I'd been in this biz for years so it was all about "fake it til you make it". I walked in determined to get the job and make money, and it worked. You can do it too, and once you do, you'll be like DAMN I wish I'd started earlier! ;D
