Big City or Small Town Clubs?
I live south of atlanta and have access to many large clubs. But whenever I go in there it seems like there are a MILLION girls in there. So would it be easier to start off in a smaller club in a smaller town? I still want to make money though! What do you think?
Re: Big City or Small Town Clubs?
It really depends on your hustle style. Some girls do better in smaller and slower clubs since they're good at cultivating regulars and enjoy 'big fish' syndrome. Others prefer larger and busier clubs (which tend to come with more girls) as the income potential is higher and they prefer the fast-paced hustle. If you've never danced before, it could be beneficial to try out the smaller club first to get your feet wet and find out whether or not dancing is for you. You can get comfortable in the environment, pick up a few stage and dance moves, and hone your hustling skills, and then move on to a bigger club so you won't feel as intimidated being the new girl since you won't be new to the industry. On the flipside, it can be good to just jump right in to the big leagues and learn in that environment right away. Which club do you feel more comfortable in as a patron? Which club has clientele that seem like they'd be more into you?

Honestly, I really think if you're new a smaller club would be better, especially if you're aprehensive about starting dancing. The big fish thing that shanna mentioned also can make small clubs more consistent with $$$. Generally small clubs=less girls, nicer co-workers, more regulars, lower house fees, more laid-back environment, and more consistent but smaller average income. Larger clubs=more girls, more attractive girls, higher competition, more anonimity, higher customer traffic (but also customer turnover), higher house fees, and more sporadic (but higher on average) income.
Re: Big City or Small Town Clubs?
Honestly, I would pick the club that you feel most comfortable in! Sometimes the smaller clubs can feel sleazier and make you feel less comfy starting out, but the girls can be nicer, and feel more like a family. I've found that the girls are far more cutthroat at the big clubs, and might walk all over you starting out, but if the big club is closer to your home or easier to get to and from, if you like the ambience better and feel more comfortable there, then go there! Another thing to bear in mind is that larger clubs usually have larger house fees....and when you are just starting and may have bad nights, you don't want to get into debt to the house! Good luck!
Re: Big City or Small Town Clubs?
Ok this is gonna sound a bit nuts, but I would start with the biggest "small" club you can, if that makes sense. I was relatively near Atlanta too when I started, and then my medium-sized town also had a big club and some smaller ones. I didn't know where the heck I wanted to go to start. But I went for the big club in my town rather than going to Atlanta, and I think it was the best choice I ever made. There was lots of potential to meet regulars, like in a little club, but plenty of business guys etc traveling through on a one-off, which was great for a newb who was learning the business. So maybe you could do something like that, if it could be an option?
