Re: Possibly help me out?
I would post this in the "Dollar Den" section. I know that it depends on your state.
Re: Possibly help me out?
Thanks, I will go post it there.
Re: Possibly help me out?
what kind of a business do you own? is it adult related??
business bank accounts cost money- a monthly fee, but it isn't much.
the first thing you need to do is open an LLC, go to your local business bureau.. i'm not sure which state you live in, or what kind of business you are going for. i would be able to give more advice if i knew, sorry! hth :)
Re: Possibly help me out?
Actually, there is an easier way, get a Fictitious Business Name. I think it costs around 50 bucks to register a FBN in most states.

She would need to register as a sole proprietor. Why an LLC? She's not hiring anyone. She's working for herself. (self employed)

Is there an FBN form I can review or was that your way of saying fictitious business name. If so, That Fictitious business name is called a DBA.
As a sole proprietor that is what she will need as she does not want to use her real name on websites, checks... etc.
After she has done all of this THEN she can open a business bank account.
Re: Possibly help me out?
Long time ago I had a small business of mine. I used to develop software from home. I went ahead and registered a fictitious business name. I think that is what it's called in California. With that, I was able to open a bank account in the name of my business. Only risk is that, the business is associated with your SSN. Therefore if your business owes any money then that means you owe money.
If you choose to get incorporated then your personal assets are safe in case your business goes bankrupt.
Re: Possibly help me out?
Thanks. I currently live in Minnesota but I am moving to Indiana very soon.

But .. with camming what are the expenses..
how can someone go bank rupt camming?
It;s not like we're renting an office.....
That is why a Sole Proprietorship is best.

Sorry, I do not know anything about camming. I have neither been a customer nor a provider.
Well if you think there is no risk involved then Fictitious Name (or DBA) is the cheapest route or else you should look into LLC or getting your business incorporated. You should talk to professional.

A professional is not needed as this info can be found online. An independent camgirl isn't an LLC. A studio owner would register an LLC. A camgirl has nothing to incorporate. The only thing she might want to do is trademark her name but if she's not Jenna Jameson there's no point in doing that. I've done a lot of research on this stuff.

Score.org is awesome. I had a score mentor for my non adult business. Too many people don't know what LLC is and some feel it is just an ending to a business name... um.. no LOL. For an LLC you'll need a business tax id for a Sole proprietorship your social security number is what you will use to file taxes with. It is very simple. I also do all my accounting myself.
Re: Possibly help me out?
pamand,
I was simply laying out all the options one has.
